- One of the most overlooked lures for summer bass fishing catches some of the biggest and best fish! It's been a reliable staple for decades and still catches fish today! Strangely, however, hardly any anglers use this bait even though it's a fairly common lure. In this video, we'll talk about how much easier your bass fishing can be when tying on this forgotten summer lure! #fishing #bassfishing #fishingtips

Do you have a favorite old-school lure for summer fishing?
Definitely love the old school jitter bug XL or some call it the muskie jitter bug!! It is a TOAD catching machine. And night time fishing it will get you your PB.
That ol’ spinnerbait is a good one! It’s definitely one of those lures that gets the job done but so often is forgotten. Used to be a lure that I threw much of the time, but definitely starting to use it more again.
So many great lures from the past that I grew up with have faded into history. Old baits like a Johnson Silver Minnow, or a Devil's Horse, or even an old curly-tailed grub were baits I watched my dad and uncle use all the time! I sometimes wonder if the spinnerbait is headed that way.
I started using a small underspin and got a few good bites with that. I'm getting more confident with different baits. Thanks LB!
That's great! Being able to work many different baits with confidence is awesome!
Great video about old school fishing 👊😎
Thanks!
I broke out the Banjo minnow on 4” and the morning storms were building a low pressure and that minnow got blasted , came out 3 -2 2to 2 1/2 pounders and enjoyed the morning it was fun
Those banjo minnows were the deal back in the day! I haven't used one in probably 20 years!
So funny you mentioned this, this past Saturday after my brother and I left the pond I said we messed up we should have thrown a spinner bait I think we could have had them.
Sometimes a spinnerbait can be exactly what those bass are looking for!
I wish they'd restock and redo some of the lakes by me. They're a lot worse than they used to be. I still catch fish, but that's because the tips you give I can actually use unlike some RUclips fishermen that just want to sell me stuff.
The lake is starting to get better, but it's still very much fishing on hard mode!
I like a small one quarter ounce spinnerbait with a chartreuse skirt. Been catching fish from the bank for years with those
A small spinner bait can be super effective!
Golden shiners with a balloon. however, I don't normally use live bait unless I'm fishing for food.
Same here!
Biggest bass I’ve ever caught was from shore at 4:30 a.m. with a big white spinnerbait. I’m not an early bird at all; I just couldn’t sleep!
Can't sleep? Go fishing! Works for me!
One of my favorite old school summer lures is the Jitterbug. It's an awesome topwater for night fishing. I usually choose black. Do you have any favorite nighttime lures?
Thank you for all your awesome, real world advice. Your the type of gentleman I'd love to be fishing partners with.
A jitterbug is a great old school bait! I'm generally dragging a worm or a jig at night. I might add some beads for a bit of sound.
Spinnerbaits can definitely get the job done during the summer under the right conditions. Thanks for sharing this my man! Good job!
They can be sneaky good, especially when most guys have switched to burning a crankbait!
Gotta admit you got me with you his one! I guess a spinnerbait really is overlooked since it was the farthest thing from my mind! I thought for sure you were gonna talk about jigs or shaky heads.
Haha! Yep, not many people think much about them in the summer!
Lowbrow back again with another tip and trick for bass fishing
I appreciate you watching!
Haven't had a lot of success with spinner baits, buy this has definitely motivated me to keep trying.
That's awesome! I'm sure you can catch tons of great bass with them!
Another awesome video! Thanks for all the great tips!
Thanks so much!
I definitely would like to get confident with spinner baits.
They are a great all around bait for many situations!
@@LowBrowFishing I’m here in MS. I’m die hard senko user. 😅
Love you shovideo
Thanks!
Got a buddy who uses them Big muskie baits. I ain't never tried them but I ain't never caught a muskie neither.
Some of those muskie and pike baits are great for bass!
Silly me. I watch you all the time and just realized I hadn’t subscribed. Sorry, my bad. Thanks
Thanks so much!
