Watched TOTP live when it first aired and saw Freddie’s presence, it was that’s moment, parents wouldn’t allow Me to watch TOTP 😂😂. Went deaf a few years into my late teens. Eventually had a implanted device to hear a few years ago, that was 45 years of not hearing music. I’d lip read play the LPs and put my hand on the speakers for the vibrations. I didn’t get much wrong. First music training after implant I played all Those albums on YT. It was a miraculous moment. And so many many feelings. I Listen to queen everyday.

I find it interesting how many of the love songs Freddie wrote early on could have been about him and Mary. You Take My Breath Away, Save Me, to name a couple. Love songs. He admitted he was a romantic. Of course, Love of My Life. Possibly from Mary's perspective. When you listen to his love songs, they seem to possibly be about the undying love they had for each other, and the heartache of what could have been, unable to be in love anyone else, still depending on and trusting only each other, being with each other til the very end. Freddie and Mary had an untraditional love story, but none the less, still a love story and in some ways, a tragic love story. It took her many many years after his death to let go enough to have a satisfying relationship, as Freddie did with Jim, but neither could be in love with anyone else. Freddie died knowing how deeply Mary loved only him and Mary knew that Freddie died deeply loving only her. At least Mary knew she had his love and that had to be comforting after she lost him. It is sad that circumstances prevented them from being together as man and wife and maybe having a family someday. Imagine being deeply in love with someone you can't have. Like two people who divorce and each remarry, still in love with each other, but can't be together. There is a song from long ago, that is true---if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with. Fitting not just for Freddie and Mary but for others.
