Honestly, the red wedding was the saddest moment and the most shocking one. We lost not only one Stark, but three at the same night : Rob, his mom and his son. Not to mention that Arya was about to be reunited with her family at that moment. We will never forget this moment. The north remembers.
You mean we lost the idiot that couldn't keep it in his pants and the person (other than Little Finger) that created the entire reason that all of them died. I was more sad for the Frey girl that Katlyn murdered.
It was cruel, but Robb lost The Battle bc he couldn't stand a while with a pretty woman near to him without sex, I won't tell he deserved that end, even Catelyn didn't deserve that end, but he totally deserved to lose his crown
But in a way, Hodor's death was the death of a child. When Brann warged from the past, he destroyed the mind and future of Willys. Willys would never be king, but he could have had a life, could have made choices and had a family that was denied to him as Hodor, but instead his ability to choose and communicate was destroyed and what little remained was trapped in his own body. Hodor died so Bran may live, and Willys died for Hodor to be born.
@The Only True Witch-King The list is even longer. Rickon Stark, Tommen Baratheon, Myrcella Baratheon, Grey Worm, Missandai, Ser Barristan Selmy, Bryen of Tarth, the Reed siblings, Maester Aemon, Samwell Tarly, Ser Rodrick etc. They don't murder, don't rape, don't play the game of power on others cost, no intrigues and betrayals. At least given the circumstances and the medieval setting they (and many more characters) are on the morally "good" side, most of them even by today's standards. Hard times require hard decisions, sometimes you don't have much choice.
@The Only True Witch-King Why don't you all consider John Snow to be morally "good"? He is honourable, selfless, noble, heroic and loyal just like Ned Stark.
Jon rides into Winterfell on a dragon or summink, Melisandre crosses paths with Egon -Jon 'King of the Norf'- "U Knows Nuffink" Targaryen-Snow, and Ser Davos. There's words said. Melisandre is thrown out of Winterfell
Josh J. If you're only on season one, and there's 7 current seasons of GoT, and this video is meant to cover all throughout said seven seasons (six past, actually), and there's obviously spoilers.....WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU WATCH THIS, YA FUCKIN' NUTSACK?
Shireens death was probably the saddest. It was one of those grueling moments that reminded you just how dark the world can be. Hearing her screams and watching the men avert their eyes... was just tragic.
You forgot the scene when Arya asks Thoros of Myr "can you bring back a man without a head, not 6 times, only once" That was one of the if not the saddest moment imo
Talisa: "If he's a boy, I know what we should name him." Robb: "Oh do you, I think the father should have some say in his sons naming." Talisa: "Eddard" Saddest moment in the entire show, ESPECIALLY if you knew what was coming.
When she said Eddard I literally had an outburst because I knew what was coming. One of the good examples of a change D&D made from the book because it tore the novel fans' hearts right apart
It's not just Shae's death but Tyrion's slow descent into cruelly murdering his father, no matter how much he deserved it. He was the funniest and most cheerful in season 1, and now a ruthless family murderer. His face during shae's death is what deserves that spot.
HunGredy I agree. What makes that scene sad, is not the death of Shae, and certainly not the death of Tywin, but rather how killing them both affected Tyrion.
No just no this is a little sweet girl who was crying for her mother and father while seconds later gets burned alive all for nothing they just don't compare her death will always be the saddest imo.
I think zig zag only increases the distance needed to reach jon and would give ramsay more time to kill him. It's not thaat stupid but still, Rickon is an idiot 😂
This is the one scene from Game of Thrones I never want to watch again. I skipped it here. But I agree with the comment above, I was more angry than sad
I ached and cried at the deaths of each direwolf, especially the last one when it was getting killed by the white walkers-horrible . One of my favorite t-shirts says “I don’t care who dies in a movie as long as the dog lives. That includes direwolves-yup.
Cat wiser?? LOL. She was the one duped by LF all along and led others to ruin. 1) Duped by the letter, 2) duped on who the dagger's owner was, 3) convinces Ned to trust LF who otherwise never would have, 4) Arbitrarily kidnaps Tyrion without a heads-up to anyone on her side (not even a Raven to Ned who had to learn it from the Night's Watch guy) directly resulting in Ned getting speared (and out of action during a crucial phase - he would have LEFT KL otherwise and he and her daughters would have been safe) 5) Lets Jamie go leading to Karstark going berserk and killing the kids. (The reason Robb had to go back to the Freys for men was because the Karstarks left the army, if Cat didn't cause the them to leave = no Red Wedding) ... and that's just from the show, in the books she's even worse. Cat Tully, bane of the Stark household. Ned would have been far better off marrying his love Ashara Dayne.
but when arya comes and sees her brother direwolf head mounted to his body and the Frey's cunt's cheering king in the north , that was fucked up. Even the hound was disgusted
To me the saddest are the unfair ones. People and creatures that die without being part of the war. Let's take the Red Wedding for example: It was Sad and shocking to us, but they were in war, It was a possibility. But what did Myrcella, Lady and Shireen did?? They were killed for no good reason. One for vengeance, one to compensate the mistakes of others and one for a magic plan that didn't even work. Now THAT'S sad to me :(
Watching Ned's death again makes me think. How many times have we the people been cheering for something we saw as justice? When in reality it was the opposite of justice
@@massagemodality366 Ned was the sole Judge and his sentence was the law. Deserting the Night's Watch is death. Even the Night's Watch put its deserters to death when they caught them. You don't know what you're talking about, child.

Natalia CM that part left me reacting the way the tenth incarnation of the Doctor did at the start of the episode, “Runaway Bride”: saying “what” in ways that start small and then builds up the biggest point.
That scene pissed me off for it's lack of realism. Really, there were no fathers among that army? What parent, no matter how devoted to their lord, would have watched and allowed that to happen?
michelle lavarez - yes, especially since they neglected to mention what happened to Daenerys and Drogo’s baby right before the catatonic Drogo scenes. 😭😭😭
Antonio Fioore I didn’t really give a shit about Ygritte either. And there were a lot of fans who actually hated Olly for killing the woman who killed his father!
No way Ygritte was sadder than the Red Wedding and Ned and Shireen. I appreciated Jon/Ygritte but after a while she got annoying and her death was inevitable.
Agreed. Her character development was very small and ceased once the love between she and Jon vs. she and her people was realized. Then is became something that needed to end immediately.
I wonder if Arya ever thinks about that moment at the river, when she had Joffery at swordpoint. All she had to do was one little thrust and she would've saved her father, her mother, her brothers, and countless other men, women and children.
@@user-mo7dd1vt1s cercei was not guilty of ned's death. she sure made his life hell but her plan was to send him to the wall or something but she did not necessarily want him dead. joffrey is more guilty because he sentenced ned to death fore pure joy while it was not necessary
The red wedding was the saddest moment for me, almost ruined the whole show. Went from binge watching the show to needing weeks to start watching it again (when I started it was already on season 5)
Perfect number 1. The rest of the list should be jumbled up. Also, Bran is the worst. He crippled Hodor for his own means and left him to die. He got Jojin, Summer and Hodor killed, almost got Mira killed on a number of occasions, and has no remorse for any of it. I’ve hated a lot of characters on the show, like Stannis, Melisandre, Joffrey and Ramsey, but you’re supposed to hate them. Bran is supposed to be sympathetic, and while it is the three eyed raven that made him so detestable, that doesn’t change the fact that Bran hits the sweet spot of being a bad character who is also incredibly hate-able...
Joe McGregor - I would LOVE to hear what you thought of season 8, particularly the finale. The way he clearly set everything up to go in his favor, with one hell of a lot of names to add to your list of deaths for which he had no remorse. 😡
I always felt Bran's was unsympathetic and useless esp when it came to helping others out. This same others who died for him. Look how he sent Mira off without even a simple thank you.
i have to disagree on Oberyn. I love the Red Viper as do we all but all he had to do was kill the Mountain and be done. If the Mountain had confessed what would it have accomplished? Starting a war between House Lannister and Westeros with Dorne and House Martell? Oberyn's pride/ hubris not justice for the slain Martell children is was caused his demise....that and stupidity
@@kickemindafacestyleson6986 no problem , everyone's list would differ:) For me the fact he wanted the comfession from The Mountain does not collide with the sadness of how it went down.
Exactly! His death just seemed so unnecessary. I would have loved for him to have been by Dany's side, accompanying her on her journey and various battles in Westeros. He would have had so much to say and so much insight. Most of all, he should have met Jon!
I like Ygritte but she was a murderer and her death was not sadder than Jons, Neds, and everyone at the red wedding. Oshers death was sadder than Ygrittes.
I disagree... The "we should have stayed in that cave" line made me cry even in this video :P She was not a murderer, in her mind she was just defending her people agaisnt invaders and tryong to find a way to safety for them.
That Ygritte and Jon stuff where she talked about the cave I felt that in my SOUL. It was his first love, her first real love, and that time in the cave was just magical. I hope when he dies he can visit her and they could just go back and stay forever. Forbidden love is the most tragic I swear. No matter how many times I watch the sting is still there 😭
I agree with number 1 not because of the emotional impact of the character, but rather how well that scene was done. Kudos to the sound and editing more than the writing.
the thing about the direwolves is that all the Stark children have a special bond with their own wolf, just like Jon when he was able to see through the eyes of Ghost... They're definitely more than cute pets and that's why it's always sad when one of them dies
neds death made me mad. he was so stupid. everything he did was a big red blinking sign saying: "IM A RECKLESS ASSHOLE TRYNA SWIM W SHARKS> INSERT AX HERE
Her death wasn't remotely sad imo, she murdered unarmed innocent civilians, I don't see how she's any better than the mountain or the Bolton father. Ygritte and khal Drago kinda got what they deserved.
5: Luwin's death. I mean, c'mon. The only fully redeemable character in the series dies because of fucking Theon, of all people. 4: Shireen's death. This was just sad. This was the moment that I started to dislike Stannis, one of my favourite characters beforehand. 3: Sansa's rape. /\ this. 2: Theon's castration. Although I really liked Ramsay, a perfect alternative to Joffrey, this was just heartbreaking. I cannot imagine someone doing this to me. 1: Hodor's death. The first and so far only time I have ever cried because of a TV show or book.
When Hodor died holding the door and we found out that he was born with his destiny already decided for this 1 action, that really got me in the feels because he was innocent and sacrificed himself willingly for his friends. This show evoked so many different emotions, some good, but most bad.
I have just finished the episode in which Hodor dies, and came here after it literally just made me cry myself to sleep for a while, and I'm not afraid to admit it! Good choice for #1, that shit was so intense I'm shook
I found Osha's death a sad moment as well, shame it didn't make the list, even honourable mention. I suppose though it wasn't shocking at all though as once Ramsay caught her, her death was expected.
I’m a pretty tough person. It takes a lot to make me cry, especially when it comes to movies and tv. While there were several moments in the show that made me sad, hold the door was the only moment that made me cry. And I don’t just mean getting a little teary-eyed, I flat out sobbed.
For me it was also sad when Jaime in the 3th season confessed to Brienne in the bath that why in fact he killed the Mad King, but nobody was interested in the truth. "Help! The Kingslayer!."- "Jaime. My name is Jaime."
The saddest moment for me, was the when the hound sacrifices himself to defeat his brother... The screams of sheer anger, pain and a sadness still echoes in my mind...

RushyG and the fact that their the last 2 seasons ..
The fact how we won't see the final season for a fucking year
from now
I don't know why, but I really didn't give a shit when Ygritte died. But when Margery died I was devastated
Antonio Fioore lol margery and all tyrell dead is satisfying
I had it the other way around😂
That’s because Margery was way hotter.
Antonio Fioore I didn’t really give a shit about Ygritte either. And there were a lot of fans who actually hated Olly for killing the woman who killed his father!
imagine this channel says number 1 “death of Joffrey Baratheon”
i would fucking sue them i gods court
No way Ygritte was sadder than the Red Wedding and Ned and Shireen. I appreciated Jon/Ygritte but after a while she got annoying and her death was inevitable.
Agreed. Her character development was very small and ceased once the love between she and Jon vs. she and her people was realized. Then is became something that needed to end immediately.
It was saddest for me.
sheerri agreed!
You know nothing, sheeri
i couldnt find her death sad when she had just killed pyp whos death i found so much sadder
How tf is Oberyn's death not on here? That death killed me.
rpsyco it was more terrifying than sad.
@robert punu
No offense you seem like a coward lol
@robert punu
Thats the point of his jump, you really dont understand why he did that
@robert punu
He was not dumb because he was cocky..
He was dumb because he didnt wear any Armor...
@robert punu LOL how are you "trained in MMA"? MMA is not a style, its the term for a sport that includes all of the martial arts.
Hold the Door has been the only time in the show where I actually cried
Same that was psychologically scarring for me 😢😢
I wonder if Arya ever thinks about that moment at the river, when she had Joffery at swordpoint. All she had to do was one little thrust and she would've saved her father, her mother, her brothers, and countless other men, women and children.
Lightning Warrior935 the king wud have sentenced every1 tobdeath
you still don't know how it works, Joffrey was not only the one. Cersei was the root.
@@user-mo7dd1vt1s at that time it was not Cercei but Tywin.
She would be dead after that
@@user-mo7dd1vt1s cercei was not guilty of ned's death. she sure made his life hell but her plan was to send him to the wall or something but she did not necessarily want him dead. joffrey is more guilty because he sentenced ned to death fore pure joy while it was not necessary
1. Is very well deserved on this list.
The red wedding was the saddest moment for me, almost ruined the whole show. Went from binge watching the show to needing weeks to start watching it again (when I started it was already on season 5)
How in the world was "Shae's Betrayal was saddest moments
Makobu Kevin because Tyrion lost another lover / someone who he really cared for over his father.
bc of tyrion's grief
If entire episode of "the door" isn't on here I am unsubsribing, RIP Summer and Hodor
Who even was Summer?
@@aleksilaine3236 Bran's wolf
@@aleksilaine3236 wow
You can't be sympathetic when you're the three eyed raven. I'm sure the real Bran would've been beyond sympathetic, but it's not REALLY Bran anymore
Shireen scene was just painful to watch...I've got a daughter and it just hit me the most.
Oberyn's death is no 2 on my list.
He was the one that deserves to kill the mountain and he couldn't 😭😭😭😭
I was surprised Oberyn’s death wasn’t included. Then again, it sounds like they would consider that “shocking” instead of sad 🙄
i have to disagree on Oberyn.
@@kickemindafacestyleson6986 no problem , everyone's list would differ:)
For me the fact he wanted the comfession from The Mountain does not collide with the sadness of how it went down.
Nobody remembers Rickon in the show.
If someone mentions Rickon, it's Dickon.
How do you not remember a child?
@@tessdurberville711 wtf I read a book about you 😂
"I'm sorry if he was your favorite character" - A.Gillen
haha for sure
Shireen’s death should’ve been #1. Her own parents murdered her.
Hodor's death was easily the saddest moment of the entire serie but it was also the most powerful.
Ser Rodrik should have been an honorable mention at least. I tear up every time he tells bran "hush now child. I'm off to see your father."
Benjamin Cox omg thats honestly how I got onto this video! I watched that scene again and am still in recovery mode
Love how most of the saddest moments in Game of thrones happened to the Starks
The saddest death is barristan selmy they killed him for shock only... How fucking awesome would it be seeing barristan cut through soldiers like cake
Sean VG I guess he cut through the sons of the harpy like cake, but I wanted to see him fight during the siege of mereen.
Benjamin Nicholas Imagine seeing him fight in the loot cart battle from last episode.
Exactly! His death just seemed so unnecessary. I would have loved for him to have been by Dany's side, accompanying her on her journey and various battles in Westeros. He would have had so much to say and so much insight. Most of all, he should have met Jon!
I screamed so many times "this didn't happen in the books why would he die he's so awesome in the books" during his death
Sean VG i think the funniest dead is tommens😂🤔
I like Ygritte but she was a murderer and her death was not sadder than Jons, Neds, and everyone at the red wedding. Oshers death was sadder than Ygrittes.
it was sadder then Jon's but the rest no way
"other" deaths, adjectives in English have got no plural form :)
I disagree... The "we should have stayed in that cave" line made me cry even in this video :P
She was not a murderer, in her mind she was just defending her people agaisnt invaders and tryong to find a way to safety for them.
murderoustendencies, how about that randon town in the slaughtered for no real reason?
Everyone in the show is a murderer
That Ygritte and Jon stuff where she talked about the cave I felt that in my SOUL. It was his first love, her first real love, and that time in the cave was just magical. I hope when he dies he can visit her and they could just go back and stay forever. Forbidden love is the most tragic I swear. No matter how many times I watch the sting is still there 😭
I agree with number 1 not because of the emotional impact of the character, but rather how well that scene was done. Kudos to the sound and editing more than the writing.
The hold the door scene still makes me fucking bawl! 😭
Damn, no matter how many times I've watched the "Hold the door" scene, it still makes me cry...
the thing about the direwolves is that all the Stark children have a special bond with their own wolf, just like Jon when he was able to see through the eyes of Ghost... They're definitely more than cute pets and that's why it's always sad when one of them dies
God just watching hodor die still makes me sad.
Nothing will ever compare to the pain of Eddard Stark's death. 😭
"today is not the day I die"
- Oberyn Martell
The red wedding was sad and I cried lol but Robb should've kept his word! He f*cked up big time
He literally f*cked that up
i loved robb too

Olly nods to him like,
"Got your back bro"
Sansa's rape was also very sad and upsetting
Sister Mckenzie To me, It was satysfying
White Walker how is that satisfying wtfs wrong with you
Tampon SquareCock I just hate Sansa. And... Ramsay is my favourite..

Wtff, Ygritte's death wasn't saddest than Ned's death... Are we crezy???
Pollo Concha It was one of the saddest things I’ve ever seen in my opinion. Ygritte was one of my favourite characters.
neds death made me mad. he was so stupid. everything he did was a big red blinking sign saying: "IM A RECKLESS ASSHOLE TRYNA SWIM W SHARKS> INSERT AX HERE
Her death wasn't remotely sad imo, she murdered unarmed innocent civilians, I don't see how she's any better than the mountain or the Bolton father.
Ygritte and khal Drago kinda got what they deserved.
@@liverpooljft9623 Wish I could give this a thousand likes. Ygritte's death was perhaps the happiest moment of the show for me.
Theon Greyjoy’s last scene was also heartbreaking
For me it was when Tyrion told Jamie you were the only one who didnt treat me like a monster!!
HOLD THE DOOR
DOOR HOLDOR
GAIGE hodor hodor
Hodor death as an honourable mention? That was the best, sadest and most unecpected scene in the entire series
It was number 1
Hahaha you're an idiot
Hodor was the saddest one
I barely controlled my tears ❣️
Best show ever.
When Tyrian killed his father that was probably one of the best moment ever
Tywin was a cruel man. He deserved it.
seriously, hodors origin and death made me cry
The Scene with Hodor is definately the most sad scene in whole game of thrones
Shireens death 1, Red wedding 2, Neds excitation 3. These deaths put us the audience in absolute shock.
Shireen, Ygritte, Hodor... Those scenes broke my heart and I am crying right now too. T-T
Shireen burning should have been number 1 I think, or at least number 2. Her parents burned her alive!!!!
Dan Montgomery agreed
Nope hodors death is much sader
I found Osha's death a sad moment as well, shame it didn't make the list, even honourable mention.
I suppose though it wasn't shocking at all though as once Ramsay caught her, her death was expected.
do some zig zags rickon damn
Why couldn't Rickon just swerve 😭
The actor did put out a tweet later saying "should have zigzagged"
Jacob Wynter seems like Rickon has never watched Apocolypto
It would be the same outcome.
Daniel D. *DING*
Could've hid behind one of the crosses as well.
I’m a pretty tough person. It takes a lot to make me cry, especially when it comes to movies and tv. While there were several moments in the show that made me sad, hold the door was the only moment that made me cry. And I don’t just mean getting a little teary-eyed, I flat out sobbed.
when tyerion was watching his old families army getting butchered in the most recent episode was pretty sad
5 - Ygritte's last words
4 - Ned Stark's death
3 - The Red Wedding
2 - Hold The Door
1 - For the Watch
For me it was also sad when Jaime in the 3th season confessed to Brienne in the bath that why in fact he killed the Mad King, but nobody was interested in the truth. "Help! The Kingslayer!."- "Jaime. My name is Jaime."
It was in this moment he restored his faith of himself and remember of his old self. Turning moment, i feel connection of him
same, that was really unexpected
When the dire wolf deaths break your heart more than any other death
The Red Wedding has to #1 for me... It was actually hard to continue watching after that
The saddest moment for me, was the when the hound sacrifices himself to defeat his brother... The screams of sheer anger, pain and a sadness still echoes in my mind...
