You could hear the clank sound at the start. Thats the dampers closing in. If the dampers close in, then less air comes in. The less air there is, The higher the pitch of the chopper.

Its trying to mimic the THX sound.
Oh my town has one but has since been deactivated. It was deactivated since 1995 because a thunderstorm knocked out the power to the siren while it was activated. The mayor is planning to reactivate it and fix it. Idk probably maybe sometime in 2023 we might see it activated again
Update: the siren is now activated! Just did it first attack mode just last month!
Nice! I’m surprised it’s not burned up Yet! So 2 of the their 3t22’s have burned up the one in downtown now a t-128 and the one on the west side now a 508!
Yep! I drove past the T-128 while driving home. I was scared this thing wasn’t gonna work.

Nope, the dampers were wired shut when the moter starts overgoing the RPM speed.
Whenever I come back to Ohio, I am definitely filming this thing
We should do the “Triple Test”! So Wood Co. first, then Seneca Co., then Sandusky Co. (which is where this is)

3. We might have to split up but I’m doing Woodville T-128 and you can do this Clyde 3T22

Did anyone hear that big clank? The reason why is because the dampers are closed. (like the video says.) which means there's less air coming out than usual, and it makes *the chopper spin faster* which causes it to be high pitched. And it's not just that, the *intake tubes* might be having a problem, they better check that up or the tubes might break.

Incase you forgot or did NOT know. This siren is a 3T22b. Meaning it's single phase. If it were a 3T22A. It'd be a 3 phase.

I’ve always wanted to know how loud this siren is in person. Would you say it’s pretty Loud for both dampers being closed?
When the dampers are closed it’s about as loud as traffic passing by on a busy road, so kinda loud but not what you’d expect. When the dampers open is when it becomes deafening
@@CentralOHSirens lol. I think the high pitch is caused by the dampers being shut. Like when an air mattress is full the pump gets higher pitched. like the siren, it can’t suck in air so the motor spins faster.

@@rarleyposting5546 there's basically no air getting sucked into the chopper thus meaning there's no air resistance. the motor is spinning faster than it was designed to but there's also much less load being put on it so who really knows how much longer it'll last
Probably wouldn't want to stand directly underneath it because it's likely you'd suffer hearing loss in seconds damper stuck or not.

Actually it’s single phase, surprisingly enough! It’s the dampers that you hear click loud asf at the beginning of the siren activation and constantly during the attack cycle. The reason it’s so high pitch is because, when the dampers close the siren cannot get enough air to stop at peak pitch so it gets higher pitch because it’s not receiving enough air intake. (It’s also not that loud at all, because of the lack of air intake.) whoever wired it did not do a very good job at all. lol

@@xxjaydenjakexx6728 false, in this case, the dampers are closed, blocking off the intake so the sirens gets little to no air. Since its single phase, the motor ramps up to very high speeds due to less air resistance. As for pitch, sure the higher the pitch when you are close to it will destroy your ears, but for distance, lower pitch carries farther than higher pitch.
