Fun Fact: this incarnon also fully reloads when it hits 2+ enemies while it has punch through modded onto it and toxic lash is active while you're the host/solo
You ever used a pressure jet washer on caked mud in the bottom of a boat, or the undercarriage of your car? There's an odd satisfaction watching the jet chip out chunks of gunk from the nooks and crannies, then saturate them to melting so they can run down the drain. That's what the Torid feels like now; like you're pressure washing big gobs of Grineer out of galleon hallways.
Returned to the game recently, and saw this video and insta-clicked cause I loved the torrid back in the day. Have ZERO idea what is going on outside of the mods.
pleasantly surprised cause i picked this last night at reset and while i was expecting for the incarnon to be good, didn't realize i was basically getting a Primary Kuva Nukor but more spreading and less overall status types
IMO Viral+Heat is actually not the way to go for this, instead just slap on 1 Primed Cryo Rounds + the full crit chance evo and call it a day. The mod slot efficiency you get from Primed Cryo over 3x 60/60 mods is too good to pass up, plus lets you switch to full crit chance guilt-free (damage is then pure viral so status chance is wasted after 10 stacks are reached). Plenty of other good damage boosters to pick from there, like Galv Scope/Aptitude, Hammer Shot, Serration, or faction mod.
What isn't mentioned in this video is the fact that the beam impact site is an aoe, kind of like the opticor. I wonder if primed firestorm works on it.
Hunter Munitions is weak on beams, and in the case of Torid Incarnon, is entirely not worth using. Beam weapons benefit from Multishot twice, but only for specific types of status procs. To benefit from this second Multishot multiplier, the status procs must be natural procs, and they must be DOT effects like Toxin or Blast. Due to being a forced proc, Hunter Munitions misses out on a second Multishot multiplier, leading to builds prioritizing it doing less DOT than other configurations. This may sound confusing, and most people assume it's completely wrong, so let me show an example using some math! *Example Viral + HM Build:* Final Fusillade + Commodore's Fortune Perk + Serration + Galvanized Chamber + Vile Acceleration + Critical Delay + Vital Sense + Hunter Munitions + Primed Cryo Rounds + Rifle Elementalist + Primary Merciless *Stats:* 13.6 Firerate, 3.3 Multishot, 270.3 Viral (102 Base Damage), 147% Crit Chance, 6.8 Crit Damage, 39% Status Chance *HM DPS Per Hit:* 100% Crit Chance - 30% Chance per hit -> (102 x 6.1 x 3.3) x (0.53 x 6.8 + 0.47 x 12.6) x 0.3 x 0.35 x 4.25 x 1.9 = 16,583.9 DPS *Example Toxin Build:* Plentiful Mayhem + Survivor's Edge + Serration + Galvanized Chamber + Vile Acceleration + Critical Delay + Vital Sense + Rifle Elementalist + Hammer Shot + Malignant Force + Primary Crux *Stats:* 13.6 Firerate, 4.68 Multishot, 82 Toxin, 132% Crit Chance, 8.7 Crit Damage, 291.6% Status Chance *Toxin DPS Per Hit:* 291.6% Status Chance - 1365% Chance per hit -> (82 x 2.5 x 4.68) x (0.68 x 8.7 + 0.32 x 16.4) x 13.65 x 0.5 x 1.6 x 1.9 = 222,226.5 DPS As you can see, even with the maximum Hunter Munitions chance and accounting for 10 Viral stacks, the unmitigated Toxin status DPS is 13.4x higher than the Hunter Munitions DPS. With these builds, pure Toxin will always deal more status DOT to any enemy regardless of their Armor value. Even with 90% Armor Reduction, the DOT of the pure Toxin build is 34% more DPS than the Viral Hunter Munitions setup. *Corrosive Projection:* If the Plentiful Mayhem Toxin build is consuming Incarnon Charge too quickly for your taste, you have the option of using Corrosive Projection. Without Corrosive Projection the pure Toxin build will deal more DOT up until the enemies reach an Armor value of 2577, which is the equivalent of 87.9% Armor Reduction. Now to calc this different build... *Fusillade Toxin Build:* Final Fusillade + Survivor's Edge + Serration + Galvanized Chamber + Vile Acceleration + Critical Delay + Vital Sense + Rifle Elementalist + Hammer Shot + Malignant Force + Primary Crux *Stats:* 13.6 Firerate, 3.3 Multishot, 102 Toxin, 132% Crit Chance, 8.7 Crit Damage, 291.6% Status Chance *Toxin DPS Per Hit:* 291.6% Status Chance - 962% Chance per hit -> (102 x 2.5 x 3.3) x (0.68 x 8.7 + 0.32 x 16.4) x 9.62 x 0.5 x 1.6 x 1.9 = 137,370.2 DPS With Corrosive Projection the maximum Armor Reduction is 81.5%, so we calculate for Armor and get the result of: 25,415.6 DPS This means with a single Corrosive Projection the pure Toxin setup is always doing a minimum of 53.2% more DOT than the equivalent Viral + HM setup. Due to the way multishot and status works on beams, strongest builds on Torid are using the +15% Critical Chance +15% Status Chance perk, and running pure Toxin builds. You want to be minmaxing for the Toxin procs by getting as much Multishot and Status Chance as you're able to.
I second this, u know your shit. BUT, when this was made, armor didn't have a cap, so that double dipping on natural procs wasn't as powerful as bypassing armor. But yeah I have 5 builds on the torid, in none of them do I run hunter mumu anymore
