Simply Amazing, after 6 years of watching these guys from the U.S. the band still gives me goose bumps and Kenny still brings tears to my eyes with his vocals. Cant wait to hear the new album!
These guys are pretty damn impressive...yes, this sounds like very commercial stuff, but, these guys are on the writing level of Tool, Floyd, and other great writers.
its always cool looking back on their old music (which i still love) and seeing how different they were, and how a band can progress and expand. can't wait to see them for the first time at the end of june, will be awesome
You must listen to this song as loud as you can to feel its vibration. Absolutely amazing. Karnivool since last year is my favorite band. Greetings from Greece! :)
i first saw this band on scuzz with the song thermeta, n judgin by the name i wasnt expectin them to be very good, however by the end of the song i was singing with the speakers full blast because it was soo damn good!! n here theyv done it again - exellent band, exellent song with another exellent vid :) with a big thumbs up n a five star rating i DEFINATLY know who i want to be seeing at download this year...
The music is beautiful, its so lifellike these guys didnt play this song when they were in munich last month, but miss them all the same,,,,, cheerss,,,,,
this band really took me by surprise, i initially heard scarabs and got the album thinking it was going to be instrumental. Normally the soft vocal is a little weak for me, but these guys are amazing especially the drummer. also i love the effect on the ride at 1:08
@420Guitar420 I agree. I miss the 90s rock-metal. Good singing is becoming a rare commodity in the mainstream music business..both rock and hip-hop. This video reminds me of how singers nowadays use technology to make their music "sound better".
Karnivool should be so much more rich and famous then they are... i guess people dont understand real talent when they see it! spread the word. karnivool!!
Sure it's Ian Kenny,it reminds me of the "Silence of the lambs " !!! What I would like to know is why the hell is taking them so long to record another album ... I can't go past the row K at the shop without looking for Karnivool...
Hey, I think this is that same warehouse in the trainyards in Midland where they had one of the Hyper Winterfests and I saw these guys live. That was an awesome day.
hey man they're from Melbourne Australia. They are awesome. Get Limewire and type in Karnivool or Themata, which is the name of their latest album. Cheers man.
This is an old video, before they settled on their current lineup. Mark Hosking plays the second guitar; he also sings on their cover of Sleeping Satellite. They also changed their drummer, to Steve Judd, although it was the guitarist in this video (Drew Goddard) who played drums as well during the recording process of Themata (he's a freak muso).
oh man, i f*kin love this band. i started listening to them not long ago, after a friend gave me themata. its the only one i have, but its so good. comin all the way from Adelaide.
Look on trademe if you live in new zealand, i bet there are alot of their albums for sale online aswell. Life like is my favourite song atm. And karnivool are amazing full stop.
this is crazy. ive used youtube to discover alot of bands. usually id find one gem in a pile of shit but with this band ive yet to hear i song i didnt absolutly love. this vid makes it the fith. awsome band
i've seen karnivool live a few times and they always have the same second guitarist (mark hosking). he toured with in the states too, and is recording with them for their new album.
Also, on sound awake their are a few songs that utilize more conventional time sigs. tool use many more compound time signatures than karnivool. for example, karnivool love using 12/8, because it allows them to change accents and groupings (3 and 4). this makes for a different feel and pace for the music, whilst staying in the same time sig. Tool use compound meter, eg like a compund of 13/4, comprised of 6/4 and 7/4.
Jon was in the band from the start. Hoss joined after this song was recorded, before Themata. Steve joined after Themata was recorded, Drew did drums on Themata.
this band is very distinct and different. refreshing the first time I caught a listen. Fortunately we have a college radio station in town and get new stuff alot. though they never name the band or song, it leaves me wanting to hear again. 89.1 WVJC The Bash Mt. Carmel IL
@Ellaaaa92 Truly these are one of the greats of the Australian music scene. I'm living in the US now, and I've played Persona to a bunch of Yanks, and they've all loved it!

One of the BEST bands to come out in YEARS! I wish you guys the BEST OF LUCK!!!!
I really miss music like this. Brings backthe memories of late 90'sand early 2000's music.
+MyGagen the late 90s and early 2000s went the best era of music, when nu metal, rapcore and alt rock were in mainstream.
MyGagen this came out in the mid 2000s

You relate through the bloodline
When you can never take anything that I give
Always wanting to relate through me
I go watch you slowly slip away
You're wanting to put your trust in
When I can feel this remedy kickin' on
Just to taste it, just to want it
And I can say it's not my fault
Say it's alright
When I'm coming down
Not again it's so lifelike
Come make it alright
When I'm coming down
Not again I'm fragile
Would you choose me or just abuse me?
When I can never take anything that you give
Always wanting to relate through me
I go watch you slowly slip away
You're wanting to put your trust in
When I can feel this remedy kickin' on
Just to taste it, just to want it
And I can say it's not my fault
Say it's alright
When I'm coming down
Not again it's so lifelike
Come make it alright
When I'm coming down
Not again I'm fragile
You see I'll be the one in your darkest time
(It's not my fault!)
Should I begin to erase myself?
I'm caught in this picture of you
Should I begin to assess myself?
Tell me it's over
It comes from above with these feelings
It takes you away and it buries your soul again
You're now blessed by ignorance
'Cause you want to
So run with me if you must follow
I'll take you away to this place where we can be free
A place I call ecstasy
Now you lie alone
Your chance to stop and stare
God, I kiss your bones
And say it's not my fault
Say it's alright
When I'm coming down
Not again it's so lifelike
Come make it alright
When I'm coming down
Not again I'm fragile
Well you say it's alright
When I'm coming down
Not again it's so lifelike
Come make it alright
When I'm coming down
Not again I'm fragile

Simply Amazing, after 6 years of watching these guys from the U.S. the band still gives me goose bumps and Kenny still brings tears to my eyes with his vocals. Cant wait to hear the new album!
Funny that this band used to be nu-metal and now they're really respected in the prog scene
These guys are pretty damn impressive...yes, this sounds like very commercial stuff, but, these guys are on the writing level of Tool, Floyd, and other great writers.

Damn, these guys have grown so much as a band since this song.
Love them!! They PWN!! KARNIVOOL FTW!
Aussie Metal FTW. Reminds me of the Ocean...

It's an odd one but find it through the album rather than the song title. It is there.

"Karnivool is a five-piece alternative rock/progressive rock music group from Perth, Western Australia formed in 1997."
Enough said.
Its kind of awesome that they are so unknown considering how good they are as they are a gem in the rough for anyone lucky enough to find them :)
