Hi Nick, It looks like a beautiful morning in Quebec. Not the same here in Texas, we are getting a little rain from the tropical storm Beta, but we need the rain so it's all good. I just finished watching the video, and enjoyed watching the crew taking apart the Charger. Thanks Robert for all your hard work, but from one Mopar lover to another, I know it's a labor of love. I'd like to thank the rest of the crew for all their hard work, it is greatly appreciated by me. Devon you are a very lucky man to be working at Nick's Garage, and having Nick as your mentor, and teacher. I would love to see some pictures of your 1969 A-12 Roadrunner project, a truly awesome car, you are lucky to have found one. The progress on the Charger is moving along very quickly, but that is why the Charger is at Nick's Garage. I knew that Nick would do fantastic job on the car, Thanks again Nick. Great job on the video George, it seemed like I was right there in the shop watching it happen.
@@2264ish If the covid-19 goes away, or if the border between the US, and Canada is opened again, what you hoped for will be a done deal. I want that to happen as well as a lot of other people.
That's amazing that Eugene bought it new and still owns it all these decades later!!! Wow!!! I remember when you first bought your Kowalski car all that time ago and built it piece by piece as I watched from my living room. Seems like only a few moments ago, time really flies!!! He's lucky you're taking on the build, because you and your crew are some of the best!!!!!!
Eugene Castles. Thank you for keeping your Charger for all these years and sharing your story with us all, as you have it restored as close as possible to when it rolled off the production line. So happy for you that a true artist has taken on the task of restoring your dream car. A yellow Charger 500 that you bought new in 1969 ? Oh Yeah. Sounds like Nick is building another "Keeper" and it's a 1969 Charger 500 that you must continue to keep.
The actual number of Charger 500's produced is 392 units. 503 Charger Daytona's produced. The Charger 500 is very rare as the years have taken their toll. There are probably under 150 left that haven't been restomoded or molested.
Good morning Nick and crew. I had a ‘69 Coronet 500 and that beautiful console in the Charger reminded me of that car and many good times! Have a great week.
I'm glad a car that collectible and rare made it's way to Nick's Garage. It will be a masterpiece when it's complete. It also appears that Nick is happy to be the chosen one to bring it back to its original beauty.
Robert: nice to see your care on charger. See it in your eyes. Hand motions. Too many times see people tearing old cars apart. Impacts. Yanking. Eugene's lucky to have trusted this fine car to you. Eugene: awesome car. Glad you kept the dream and staring it with us through Nick. Cheers

Fab up a tank big enough to hold engine blocks, and fill it with a product called Evap-o-Rust,soak it for a day or,maybe two,and the rust is gone, even inside the block, then just rinse and blow dry with compressed air. Evap-o-Rust works well.
Nick, My first employer was a Mopar man. He had a 1969 Dodge Daytona. It only had 69,000 miles on it. It was originally painted orange. He had it painted lavender with white stripes at one time. He said it was painted after one of his favorite Nascar drivers back in the 70's Then he had a local guy paint the car. When it came back the guy had not removed anything not even the name plates. He then took enamel reducer and wiped the paint off of the name plates and stuff he decided not to tape up. They painted it Richard Petty colors. Later the owner sold the car and bought a Ferrari Testarossa with the money from selling the Daytona. He then traded the Ferrari on one of the original Dodge Vipers. Sadly he passed away and his wife sold all of his collection off. He had a 1975 Chrysler Imperial that still had the window sticker on the window.
to de rust a part you can soak it in a mixed Muriatic acid bath,, cleans rust fast.. then dip it in baking soda and water to neutralize and prime and paint,, Use Rustoleum acid etch primer. great stuff and is a good building primer.

Another benefit of the KB pistons is they are usually lighter than the stock units. Should rev a little better than stock. Are they Hypers? Not many 500's around I wouldn't say.

What happened to the Ford 427 Marine? As I recall it was improperly thrown together. There was chunks out of the connecting rod journals, from improper installation of the rods, due to the bolts hitting the journals.

Another benefit of the KB pistons is they are usually lighter than the stock units. Should rev a little better than stock. Are they Hypers? Not many 500's around I wouldn't say.
Hammer. Yes they are Hypers by KB.
Do what you do you do a really good job peace
Bravissimo Nick!!!

Aussie chargers are very cool to.
The Aussies have lots and lots of cool stuff!
Doug: love watching touring car masters. Best racing in my opinion. Favorite was Abelnica' and his red ford falcon XB GT coupe. Even though I'm a chevy guy. Bresington's Camaro next. Cheers
that would be my all time favorite car Aussie Charger , to bad they did not build that model in north america
Imagine Nick in an R/T E49 or E55. Good, different!
👍 Yeah Nick 👍
Love it
What happened to the Ford 427 Marine? As I recall it was improperly thrown together. There was chunks out of the connecting rod journals, from improper installation of the rods, due to the bolts hitting the journals.
Duane. We are replacing the heads. So we can locate a set of headers that will fit.
Didn't the charger 500 also have a front spoiler according to what I have read about what they were trying to do with NASCAR love your show very informative
