Thank you for the update on the Charger. The body lines and door gaps look way better than when it was new. Roger and his talented crew have done an amazing job on Charger, I can't wait to see the body with it's fresh coat of Y2 yellow. I am very anxious to see the Charger back at Nick's Garage, then the real fun starts, reassembly. Nick, thank you for taking the time to drive over to Roger's shop for the update. Some times you just have to step away from the shop for a few minutes to clear your head, it's good therapy. I loved the video George, everything was so clear and the sound was excellent, it seemed like I was right there with you while you were making the video. I'm already looking forward to the next update. I see that the Charger is in good company at Roger's shop, lots of nice hotrods in the background.

If you go to Showtime Muscle Cars and look at Roger's FB page, he did another update on the Charger yesterday. It shows the left side of the car with guide coat applied, which shows high and low spots along the side of the car. This is the final step before it heads to the paint booth. The rest of the car is ready for paint. I can't wait to see the Charger painted Y2 yellow.

Most people have little Idea about how much work goes into fully restoring cars. I worked in Restoration shop out of high school for 5-6 years. Use to wetsand tell my finger tips bled from actually sanding the skin off.. Sand blasting for hours on frames and parts in blast cabinets and taking apart every part of a car labeling and marking wires, fixing and re-taping them and color sanding with 1200-1500 grit paper that's basically like one step above industrial toilet paper in grit!

Hello Nick! I haven't been comenting on your videos lately. I have been sick. I just got out of the Hospital 05/10/21 Monday. I had hernia/infected mesh/abdominal wall reconstructon surgery. Then contracted MERSA infection and a second surgury, 12 days in the Hospital. I'm better. So here's my comment: "Love your You Tube Channel!" "Love the Dodge Charger 500!" Seeing it restored will be a treat!" "Don Garlets is the only other person that owns a Charger 500 in his private collection next to his Plymouth Superbird and Dodge Charger Daytona! "$$$$!!!" He's 86 years old and still going pretty strong for his age without his wife Pat😪. Love the old clasic cars you work on. I wish you had a 1969 Pontiac Firebird. Those car cars are very rarely seen and hard to keep running and rolling. "CATCH'CHA'LATA ALIGATOR!!!"

    That was great, thanks.
Thanks for sharing some of the frustrations with being in this business. I can relate to all of it. We schedule work as carefully as we can, but things can go south in a heartbeat, and then it snowballs from there. The shop is very busy - and we schedule thinking OK this will take 2 days and be out of here. Then something doesn't work out. Meanwhile we have a full schedule for weeks after that one was supposed to be gone. So now we have to fit the 2 day job into the full schedule later somehow - not easy, and space becomes a problem.
Some customers are cool and say whenever it gets done, that's fine. Others say the same thing and call 2 hours later and ask it it's done yet. Sometimes seeing the same person over and over on the caller ID stresses us right out, to the point of we want to turn off the phone.
Anyways, we could go on and on about how things don't always go as planned. All we can do is our best, and that's it. It's easy to say don't get too stressed out about things - but when we care about our business and keeping people happy and doing things right, that's not so easy, either.

I was in the middle of watching Powernation rebuilding of a flat head V8 when I saw this pop up. Bypassed to here first, going back after.
Speaking of dreams, sometimes it's a dream, sometimes a nightmare. In regard to nightmares I'm still dealing with that Hummer H3, so I have to dig deeper. I got it to run and due to not having the tools I had to wait. Now I have tools and I'm just getting started. While I've got the crank out I see that I have to mirror polish the crank pin journals, I may want to throw some fluid to clean out the journals and I'm gonna be taking a deeper look. The oil pump seals had to have exploded for a reason. I got to thinking that I might even want to look closer at the cam.
Now, I've thought about replacing the crankshaft. Down side is, it has been discontinued as of Covid. I have to work with what I have.

I chuckle every time Nick mentions the less-than perfect way Chrysler's door panels were hung from the factory, uneven gaps and seams. Our family was Plymouth all-the-way when I was young... and if some of the doors on those cars were misaligned any worse, they would be on upside down.
When will we get to see a winged car in Nick's shop? That would be an eye-popper!

    NICK,
WOW! That Charger is a beautiful car. Which reminds me-
Have you ever heard what goes on at the Ford Motor co design studio?
Near the design studio FORD has a warehouse full of every model car &
truck Ford has ever built. When ever a designer wants to pull a vehicle
out of the warehouse, the design studio chief makes them wash the
vehicle. By HAND. He wants them to not just look at the vehicles lines,
he wants them to FEEL the lines. He wants them to run their hand along
the fender & across the hood. He wants then to feel the wheel arches & the
roof. The chief feels that his designers get so much more out of washing a
    car than just a look.
    !

Nick, I feel that I know how you feel about all the pressure. Hang in there! What you need is a good whiff of Kowalski tire smoke, a few seconds of that unique mystery “growl” that only your makes when you ‘drop the hammer’ in second gear (you know the one - not a rattle, but definitely one only found in the Kowalski when under hard power) and few minutes spent hand-washing each and every inch of your creation.....😎
And George, great footage, audio was great, views well thought out, but the distinctive body shop smell didn’t come through very well! Better check into that! 😉

I volunteer in a restoration shop in the san Francisco bay area one day a week, we are always way behind in finding part's for these old cars the owners get mad at me, and I'm a volunteer!

Nick, Eugene's '69 Charger looks really great in primer. It should be a fantastic car once everything is completed. I'm celebrating something too. Almost four years ago my '12 Chrysler 200 convertible suffered a hit and run while I was driving north on I 25 from visiting my Uncle. Thanks to the latest Federal stimulus I was able to pay the $2171 for the rear fascia restoration. Certainly body shop work even on a lesser scale is costly. Congratulations on your Charger 500 Eugene.

Just bought a 64 440 318 push button. Going to be coming up from southeast missouri eventually with my grandma (she loves canada and I'd love to take her while I can) to have you help me complete my build someday. Who knows I might have a trailer of mopar to bring you by then.
