    Well explained, and essential viewing if you want to get the fit right! When I got my first pair of Warriors, I adjusted them as I thought it would work. It didn't, and I almost gave up on them because of pain points. And I thought I didn't have enough strap length (obvs doing it wrong, in hindsight). Eventually I found the fit I needed, and they became my favourite running shoe (I love my FiveFingers too, but nothing beats the open air).
    Just bought a new pair of Warriors (so glad FastGear carries Shammas now!). This time, I found this video, and I followed this video step by step. It makes all the difference! I have the broken-in fit already. Following this video and setting up the lacing system right makes *all* the difference.
    Many thanks for a clever lacing system that does provide a fantastic fit, a comfortable footbed, excellent ground feel, and a super-light, super-durable sandal that is about the best value thing I own. I look forward to doing my best to wear these things out, however long it takes!

      Rob, thanks for the compliments on the video, glad it was helpful! Just so happens that I filmed an updated video today that should hopefully be easier to follow.

    Thanks for making such a clear video!
    I just got my first pair of Warrior LE's. Starting by loosening all the straps and then adjusting them in order to your foot in the sandal is great. It gives such a custom fit. I got it very close following the video. After walking around, decided I wanted to move the buckle over a little straighter behind my big and second toe. Made that adjustment and they feel perfect.
    Definitely not difficult with these instructions - but would have been very time consuming to make a series of micro-adjustmemts if i didnt know this.
    I'll definitely be back for another pair! Got the Warrior LE's first for comfortable walking and light hiking. But, I also have my eye on a pair of Trailstars with the Ultragrip footbed for more serious hiking and getting wet.

    This was very helpful! I thought you had to take off the sandal to adjust it. This makes much more sense :)

    I'm still at the stage of getting used to having that strap in between my toes. It's a reason I've shied away from thongs for most my life. Just got these Shammas in the mail today, despite these hesitations. Chanced it and even went all in on their leather pair too. Big spender over here.
    Figure I'll get used to wearing thonged shoes and be better off giving this a real try. Also I'll probably/maybe?? form a blister between those toes and so stop noticing the sensation after a while. Must be true as I'd never, in my life, heard anyone seeming to care. Perhaps someone on here might correct me.
    Really quite drawn to the idea of spreading out my toes properly and also being able to run in sandals. Damn cool.
    I'd been suffering plantar fasciitis for damn near a year now. It was at its worst before I took a more direct approach in resolving the issue. So much information out there and tried nearly everything and the issue's greatly improved. With these efforts also came newfound knowledge and awareness of how much modern-day footwear perpetuates the deterioration of, not only our feet, but also our overall health.
    Don't mean to get ahead of myself. I am hopeful.

    Thank you for this guide! I nearly undid the toe strap from the buckle while messing around with adjusting and found myself in a pickle when I somehow ran out of slack for the top layer of the toe strap. Took a little time for me to understand how the toe strap interfaces with the buckle, but with the help of this video I was able to set it straight. Just received my Warriors today and wore them around the house, so I haven’t yet had the chance to put them through anything athletic yet, but first impression is a “Wow!” Very secure feel, feels like the sole is hugging onto my foot with no separation. So thin and flexible with no floppy or sloppy feeling! I think the combination of just the right amount of stiffness in the sole material and the strap system design makes it so that, despite being so thin, I don’t feel any sense of flimsiness or floppiness. Looking forward to using these for more athletic activities!

    Just got my 1st pair of Shamma. Love your strap system. Since these are so light I been able to run up hills I power hike in normalsneakers.
    Question on removal and putting on. I have been removing the front velcro, then tightening the straps. Is that correct or should I set Velcro once. I noticed the toe plug can move for most comfort then after foot is in all straps are locked in. I hit a PR yesterday on this 1 mile hills trail loop I do repeats on. Love the product

      Hi Todd,
      Glad to hear your Shammas are serving you well! Technically there is no right way to take them on and off. Having said that I recommend leaving all the adjustments except the heel strap in place. If the powerstraps are not installed then you can simply push the heel strap down and your foot should slip right out. To put them back on you can slip you foot back in and lift up the heel strap. If you have the powerstraps installed you can still slip them off by pushing the heel strap down but you will need to open the heel strap to put them back on. I think this is the simplest way and the heel strap adjustment is the most forgiving and easiest to adjust. Hope this helps let me know if you have any other questions.
      Thanks,
      Josh

    Hey, I feel a little pressure point on the right where the strap comes out of the sole. Is that normal because the lace is quite stiff at the beginning or is my foot simply too wide? I've tried two different sizes, both with the same problem. Don't wanna get a blister after a long hike. Any thoughts?

    • @Shammasandals
      @Shammasandals  3 года назад

      Hi! Great question. This is problem would most likely go away after the sandals break in a bit and the laces mold to your feet. The sandals generally break in pretty quickly, so this problem should go away very soon. In the meantime, putting a bandaid or piece of tape where the strap touches your foot might help while your sandals are breaking in. If this issue doesn't go away soon, please let us know and we will be sure to help you further! Please let us know if you have any questions!
      Happy trails!

      I have the same problem.
      Do you think this even breaks in with the warriors maximus though they have a thicker sole?
      Because the gum is really stiff and I am not sure if it will form to my footshape...
      Or should I better change to the cruzers, because they have more space between the beginning of the laces and they don't have this gum.

    Hi, guys,
    I slip my foot to the inside more often. Do you have an idea how I can prevent this?

    • @Shammasandals
      @Shammasandals  4 года назад +1

      Have you tried powerstraps? They definitely keep your foot more locked into the heel and can help with slipping. Another reason for slipping could be new sandals needing to break-in. The more they are worn the more the sole "cups" the foot. Finally walking patterns can also be the culprit. Try and see if your foot twists or grabs at all while you walk. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

      If the balls of your feet are slipping to the inside of the sandal, so there's a lot of sandal around your pinkie toe but not your big toe, you probably need to tighten the toe strap. Maybe a lot. I had this problem, maybe something to do with my high-volume feet or weird gait. Getting the toe strap very tight fixed it right up.
      EDIT: I previously wrote some bad advice here, but fixed it.

    Tried it, too much velcro, I end up sewing all my sandals into a fixed position.
