I couldn't get Mass Effect 3 today...but listening to this makes me more excited for when I do get it tomorrow. I salute the Mass Effect series and you for making this remix. It makes me feel so happy. :'D
gonna take a minute to say THANKS for your overwhelmingly positive feedbacks. let me stress again, that my participation in creating this track was very small. it took me a few hours on a otherwise boring afternoon whereas the composers and musicians of the original music spend many days, weeks, months even to produce the building blocks for this little piece of fan "art". and know, let us pray to the gods so that ME:3 may arrive shortly and in unimaginable glory and epicness :)
"Human, you've changed nothing. Your species has the attention of those infinitely your greater. That which you know as 'Reapers' are your salvation through destruction."

How amazing for you that you grew up with a giant in gaming like the Mass Effect series. My formative years were during the SNES and N64 era, I played great games but nothing like Mass Effect. Nothing had that kind of depth back then. Mass Effect is firmly at the top of my list with Ocarina of Time and Final Fantasy VI.
Shepard listen to me! I don't care what EA Games or Bioware or some fans decided to end you, you will be my hero always, I don't care who will be hero in next mass effect, but I know when I play it I imagine it is you. The is only 1 Hero and it is Shepard. Do whatever you want but Shepard is the Hero no one will forget and no one will replace, you hear me Shepard? I am with you brother I will fight for you always! ;(
I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite store in the Citadel. I'm Garrus Vakarian and this is now my favorite spot in the Citadel. I am Urdnot Wrex and this is my planet! I am Sovereign and this station is mine!
@nordlycht you sir have made quite the masterpiece, I downloaded this a while ago, and get so motivated by it. It is quite depressing if you think about where the songs are from in the games, as they are quite dramatic scenes. The thing is the way you stitched it together, is quite uplifting nonetheless. I would like to talk to you more if you have the time!
This is and forever will be my teen-hood. This was, personally for me, the best game series I ever played next to LoZ even with ME3 being as disappointing as it was.
Smaniv44: Almost every story can be picked apart like that, especially Sci-Fi or Fantasy. However, I'm amazed at your "criticism" surrounding the Collectors because it's pretty much explained in ME3.... Simply put they were trying to build a Human Reaper which would continue where Sovereign started (ie. opening the relay from within the galaxy). Normally, they'd just do this after conquering the galaxy, but since they no longer had a vanguard they tried to do it earlier - two birds with one stone. As for Harbinger's beam, really I could come up with numerous excuses as unlikely as the next (glancing blow, for example) but ultimately it just comes down to poetic licence. It's a case where story-telling/drama takes precedence over logic.
But that makes no sense - they were already on the way. The Human-Reaper was basically a waste of time. They could have just tried harvesting one of the "lesser races" to build a smaller Destroyer and picked them off so that the only large-scale harvest was humanity. The Collectors plan was screwed, to be blunt.
Smith Baran They were already on their way but didn't get there for months. Also, they were going to harvest us anyway so why not do some of it early and use that Reaper to get here even earlier. They prefer to get here in a surprise attack rather than having to wade through several fleets etc. because even though they'd win easily, there would be more losses among their fleets in a head-on attack.
Garry Cotton But you do realize that it took the Collectors *two years* just to get the Human-Reaper to a larval stage, right? "Months" would not have been enough time to finish the thing before the invasion - another reason why it makes no sense. They basically would have lost very little in terms of development time. since they think they're eternal and that time is relative to them. Besides, they may have been moving "on foot" ever since Sovereign died - two years to get here. So, *both ways*, the Human-Reaper is pointless - if they started coming here right after the Suicide Mission ended, then all the travel time they needed was in six months, meaning they could already have started the invasion and been done in the time it took to make the Human-Reaper just get to a larval stage. Alternatively, if they started coming here over the course of the two years before ME2, right after Sovereign died, then they were already set on starting the invasion regardless of if the Human-Reaper would be done or not.
Smith Baran I call the Human Reaper imperative a logic flaw. Seems like they were trying to use fear/shock. I think It's kinda cooler to completely subjugate the dominant race, and rebuild based on the blueprints later, but since they can be kinda linked to some kind of metaphysical presence, maybe that's how they choose to represent themselves. But that would be a neat mystery for any later civilizations to ponder. Much like we weren't supposed to do so well against the reapers this time; since we did, we came to find out that Protheans were indeed the model for the Reapers, and in further organic insult, the Collectors being perverted, bred-down versions of the former conquerors of the Milky Way. Imagine, if the thing was completed, and our galaxy had no chance... The first Reaper we see officially coming to claim dominion over Earth looks like us, as if to tell us we're not good enough. It wears our face to remind us in our lizard-brains that we've been shaped, and are inadequate. It wears our face to mock us, and only acknowledge "you are what you eat."
***** But we'd never know that because, in the cannon of ME3, it's confirmed that *All* Reapers, regardless of the different designs they have, will be given either Sovereign-Class shells or Destroyer-Class shells as their containment units upon completion. So, even if it was finished, we would *never* get that "shock" value because we would never have seen the "Human-Reaper" itself - just the Sovereign-Class Reaper shell that contained it. So that theory goes right out the window - culminating the "pointless" element of it all.
@Nordlycht Im sorry if i offended you, but the original score has a very special place in my heart. Im not sure what you meant about food though......are you talking about my tomatos in my comments on the original track?? :) Have to admit though that i liked it from 3,30 and outwards. Especially the violin! Let us all hope that ME3 beats it all!
@190shepard The original sounded a lot like Doctor Who series 5's theme. I don't know which came first, but I'm sure it's a total coincidence. It still weirded me out every time I heard it on Doctor Who. I even tried playing the two tracks at the same time. They fit very well, and after a few seconds I could barely tell which was which.
I agree and so do a lot of people, but this is not the place to discuss this (the web has been flooded with discussions like these). I just hope we get a decent closure at least when the extended ending DLC is released.
@TheUltimateMEH Both Mass Effect 2 and Series 5 were 2010, right? The similarities between the two tracks are way too perfect to be intentional. It's just a crazy coincidence. Like that the plot of Mass Effect is practically a rewrite of the show Babylon 5. The similarities make my head spin every time I see either now, but it's a total coincidence aside from maybe a small inspiration to the ME writers. The Shadows and the Reapers and the way races interact are so alike though...
It lacks a bit of the "loud" and the "heroic" of the original piece, but that lack is about the size of the our moon compared to the galaxy - so, well done.
I think it's going to be shelved. It was announced back in 2010, and as far as I can tell, they sacked the original writer, and no director has been hired.
@LuisManuelLealDias Oh no, I must sound like one of THOSE people. xD I really didn't articulate my point very well. To me, Mass Effect most resembles Babylon 5, but that doesn't mean I can assume that the writers 'were inspired' by it. You got me with the Lovecraft inspiration. I thought other aspects of the Reapers reminded me of the Shadows. In particular, the season three episode that revealed the nature of the Shadow ships reminded me a lot of plot twists in both ME games.
You know... Original is better but your works is great too... Oiginal Siucide Mission is Super Epic. your rmx is Epic so great job my friend. May the death of the reapers be with you!
Yes I know you are the fucking harbinger.... And yes you don't think I goddamn know when something hurts me? I am shepard and collectors don't phase me.
@heriatac I'm sorry I don't recall. I found it after an extensive google search, but I can't locate it if I do a search now. And I don't have the original image anymore :-\
I know =o But I meant, that the people, who doesn't really care about the quality, could download the track with the converter, to enjoy it's awesomeness without watching this video =) I didn't want to do something bad =o Sorry, if I did^^°

Reminds me of how amazing mass effect2 was. Best game in the trilogy and the best trilogy ever in gaming.
Anyone getting into this series: Enjoy your first Mass Effect run, because it'll never be quite the same after.
The Legendary Edition gave me an excuse to listen to this song again for a good while
"Human, you've changed nothing. Your species has the attention of those infinitely your greater. That which you know as 'Reapers' are your salvation through destruction."
Goes to hear music. Finds out the chain I once helped start has grown into a piece of art.

if you look at the timeline, Liara, Wrex and Grunt would still be alive 600 years years later (when MEA takes place)
maybe Samara too. though she would have probably slowed down a lot
Javik No, samara was near her 1000s, saying samara would be alive then would be like saying that a 90 year old woman would be alive 60 years later
Andromeda blew, man.
After listening to the Doctor Who soundtrack theme 'I am the doctor' these two songs are scarily similar.
That is a bad ass mix.
only a few more days until mass effect 3. This just makes me daydream a lot, thank you!
This was way cool. Gave it an old school Sci-Fi feel. Way good.
This is where the heart of mass effect lies.... thank you for this...
