I just picked up a gorgeous 1980 Rm 125 best money I ever spent
I had one given to me for my sixteenth birthday in 81 my dad wanted to buy me a car but I wanted a dirt bike.

Early eightys was a great time for dirt bikes. Beautiful machine. Time capsule.
That's a very nice 1980 RM 100. A guy down the road had a 1976 RM 100 and my neighbor had a 1979 RM 125. Another fellow bought a new RM 125X water cooled bike. After seeing that bike run I saved money from mowing lawns and bought a used 1981 RM 125 the next year. I learned a lot from rebuilding that bike over the years of ownership.

I remember riding an RM 80 as kid & my friend having the 100. It looked huge at the time, sounded bigger than it was & would tear the ground up.

Nice bike, obviously low hours and not ridden hard. The RM of your youth that you were able to rebuild yourself taught life lessons and raised ya! Same here with my '79 RM 125.

Love the old RMs 1st bike was a new 78 RM 80 . Pissed my race buddy of his dad was YZ guy so he had a 78 YZ 80 . The RM 80 would rip all over it 😂 .

I remember Jay. Short guy, with red hair, who raced and his daughter used to race, where you and he rode the bikes you were buying from him, and their were woods to ride in, directly behind his house. His bikes were all well kept up and taken care of, and this is one gorgeous and very capable bike. This 1980 RM 125 is very similar looking to my first personal 2 stroke mx bike, that was in mint condition like this bike, which was a 1982 Suzuki RM 125, and she was a runner, like Billy Squier the classic rock musician sings about. Lol

Me too bro they never made one in my reality I am 67 and raced my new 1973 all over nor Cal. Back then never seen a TM 100 or RM 100 after 77 because they never made them. Proves the Mandela effect is real and some people like Kaplan are from another reality. strange but tru!

You could of saved your original plastics, fenders, tank etc just a fine sand they come up like new again.

My first bike was a 1978 Kawasaki KD100 (only year it was lime green) and I’ve been looking for one to buy, so please contact me if you ever come across one.
In my reality Suzuki never made a TM or RM 100. I bought a new 125 TM in 1973 raced it all over Nor. Cal. Never seen a TM 100 they never made them this is a new Mandela effect.
I purchased a brand new 1974 TM 100 in 1975 and a brand new RM 100 in 1979 so I'll bet you your life
There are a few things that I would never do in life brother, and I tell you this with the Utmost Respect....Nobody wants to bet Ken or Ken Jr, regarding their knowledge and the history of dirtbikes and streetbikes...easpecially dirtbikes...Ken Sr and Jr will never tell you what I did, because they're humble to the core. They'll lose every single time. Take Care, Brother.
