O.M.G. I know I speak for a lot of us kaplan fans when I say in the 70s most of us teens&pre teens had 2 stroke 125s and we "All" had wood for this thing....

78/79, RM/YZ/CR are the most bad ass machines ever built. Brings me back to a day that i still dream about. I got a brand new 78 1/2 RM 250 for $2400. Paid $300 for fox shocks from fox. DG pipe, gasser throttle, preston petty front fender + lots of trick parts from the day. Thats the one bike of many i wish i still had. Oh, now that I'm dreaming, i also want my RD 400 and CR 500.

I had very similar (looks the same) Fox rear shocks that I installed on a 77 Maico AW250.
This is pure eye candy! Thank you for posting this!👍🇺🇸

Back in the day of Works Bikes. If you were a privater you had to have mods on your bike or something like the Moto-Cross Fox Bike to try and keep pace with the Works bikes of that era. Then they outlawed Works Bikes and everybody was put on factory racers or bikes off the showroom floor. Nice Bike ken.

I was lucky enough to race 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1982 RM125’s back in the day. Lusted HARD after these and the full on DG bikes back in the day. Just gorgeous!

Man that is a super good looking bike,I was lucky enuf to have my dad good friend hook me up with MXA magazines as a thank u to my dad getting him out to California so he could keep his job as the art director for Peterson's,and I know that bike has been on the cover and in all the bad ass photos in the mag...when I think of racing that moto fox shock s bike is etched in my mind from forty years ago and when I think vintage motocross that bike is the vision...u can't forget that paint job when u see it even in black n white it was a stand out,but it got a lot of press by its didn't know much about it then except its looks were stunning,it was factory...wow...I wonder how many the bomber had...

Thanks...sounds like the right dude got hold of this bike and went and did it right,,i was lucky enuf to has a school chum, who thought enuf of my MX riding to let me ride his 1978 RM 125...it was a dream come true for me,and a I remember was feet up in the pegs wheeling out if Verna the bike was some ridiculous 70 plus pounds less than my converted motocross bike it was a 1975 XL 125...had the great Honda handling thanks to the MT and CR frame,I could drag the bars thru a corner so finally get to ride the big brother to the RM 80 I was supposed to buy with my own money.625 dollars for a brand 80,hah hah 600 bucks, matter of a fact my grips were wore out about inch and a half on both sides,my buddy Ronny was putting gas in my tank to watch me go 15 feet and drag the bars around a small tree and come right back to where he was standing,he was like do that again,ok I said,I heard u got and RM I said...he said yes,I said can I ride it and he said sure, for some reason he did not ride it much,so he say do that handle bars dragging turn again and I laughed sure,he could believe it,what nobody told him was that u was riding some 70 plus hours a week,no buddy was even close most of my friends lucky if they rode to hours a week, thanks man,got this is bumming me out ur beautiful museum is up north and my sorry ass is stuck down here in Florida finally, piece out...

I was lucky enuf to start riding Motocross a couple week may be months before 1978,I came to visit my gramparents in Florida and my grandfather new he could not drive by the go kart track without stopping, but he did not know about motorbikes yet,but I con convinced him to stop at this Suzuki dealership,I been harassing the local dealer at home in jersey why not Florida too...I was 10 or 11.I go inside and the owner was very cool he brought me to the back shop, because all the 1978 RM 80 were sold and he shows me a race bike, with SOME DG race kit,and say go head sit on it and start it U remember the DG name this bike was a screamer I was pretty nice on the throttle but that thing felt like it would rip the frame apart it had so much power for an 80cc...when I got back home one of my school buddy's had a 1978 RM 125,and was so impressed with my riding skills he told me about his bike and brought down and let me take a few laps on it what a great handling lite weight racers,I was really impressed with it point and shoot handling and power, remember those FMF race bikes in a crate oh shit that was a Honda, can't remember who was National champ in 78 had to be Bomber, may be Hannah, all in all the stock bike was awsum I could only imagine a factory bike.here s 5 bucks meet me behind the warehouse and like I always say give me about five minutes and I 'll make u a track....hah hah, nice back tire too...I never met a tire new that I didn't like....sweet ride was this any ones bike that we know....New York PRO new England ....thanks for sharing sorry about the grass...hah ha

I got a question! I am actually restoring my 1978 rm125 and it is a one owner that was parked In my dad's barn back in 1981 where it sat for 35 years until touched until I went and got it to restore however I am having trouble finding a 520 front sprocket for this bike. Dirt Tricks is custom cutting me a rear sprocket as we speak in a 520 chain size. Can you point me in the right direction
