i feel like this song has such darker meaning then most people think because it really lets us see into pearls really emotional state and how she really felt about rose
She was mostly talking about herself. How she wasn't really built for fighting. She wasn't. She was just a servant. She was never supposed to be a soldier. Her lines: "You just think about the life you'll have together after the war." And her line: "When you live for someone, you're prepared to die." She was talking about her dedication to Rose and how she felt her life didn't matter. Only Rose mattered.

Thing about this is that pearl literally wasn't built for fighting. She was a slave. She was property. She TAUGHT herself to fight, poofed many quartzes who were literally BUILT for this. Thing about Pearl is, her entire existence revolved around Pink/Rose/Steven. Pearl literally lived for her, did her best to protect her despite being built as a ballerina/slave/property, she became a soldier. She betrayed homeworld for rose. Pearl never stopped loving Rose. The type of love kept changing. Pink/Rose was romantic love, Steven was maternal love. She literally never left his/her side

OMG. YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING TOGETHER! *I had to let that out.* Two of my music idols collaborating. It's pleasing to the ear and a wonderful song. Steven Universe is a wonderful show. My respect for both of you guys continues to go up from the incredibly high level it already is. Adriana, you make a great Pearl. You stick more to how Pearl truly sounds, but you put your own spin of creativity in it, as usual with your songs. It's firm and strict like Pearl, but it flows smooth like a calm stream. It's two clashing things that work really well together. If you were to be the singing voice for one of the gems, I think you'd do excellent as Pearl. She suits you very well. Lizz, you put a whole new spin on Connie's singing voice, and you provide a very sweet tone which stands out in a great way. The sweetness doesn't seem to match Connie's determined and grave attitude about the sword fighting, but both you and Adriana grab the emotion of the song and sing it your own way. Your sweet voice works well with lots of songs no matter what the style is. Steven Universe does harmony incredibly well, and you guys cover it well. You guys make it sound absolutely beautiful. I can't wait for the cover to be posted with your vocals switched. I'm curious to see the spins you put on the voices when you're placed in opposite roles. I love how some of the songs sound so Broadway-ie (idk) and how Connie's voice matched that theme perfectly. Lizz does an amazing job on her singing voice and Adrisaurus sounds exactly like Pearl! These two are a great duo :D

I absolutely love this video, it's so elegant & well paced with both artists sounding like they were really into their roles. I sincerely hope that at some point you get a chance to do "On the Run" or "Strong in the Real Way". :P Uhm one other thing I'd say is maybe the vocals could do with being a little louder compared to the piano, which pushes out a few lines. I absolutely love this video, it's so elegant & well paced with both artists sounding like they were really into their roles. I sincerely hope that at some point you get a chance to do "On the Run" or "Strong in the Real Way". :P
Uhm one other thing I'd say is maybe the vocals could do with being a little louder compared to the piano, which pushes out a few lines. But I'm an idiot, so what do I know. :3

Pearl's answers (True, Right, Concentrate, etc) could have used more emotion, it's not that huge of a deal, but I did find myself distracted from the melody due to them.
