Been watching you for a while. It’s very peaceful watching someone assemble all the parts and make it so.
Such a positive attitude in everything you do it's refreshing to see and it shows, that barn is looking great , your videos are great and i really enjoy watching them , keep them coming and give cabbage a good scratch for me.
Thanks 👍
Your an amazing inspiration Nathan. I appreciate your sharing your growth that is present in each video. I have taken many small steps towards my own vision in response to watching you since I joined your channel. I have a cousin who made his own sawmill from scratch. Bought 50 acres in Vermont and started towards getting ready to build a Timber frame house. Unfortunately he suffered a stroke last spring and has lost everything. Life is tough. You have to have the same faith as Mr Cash. Never give up on yourself.
Fantastic. Great to see the dream unfold into reality. Amazing what one man with the right tools can accomplish by himself.
Great job Nathan. All your effort will be memory in a few months. Five years from now and you will have forgotten the sweat.
Absolutely!
What great joints. Your opening words were spoken by Mr Churchill - a great fan of your country. Well after the 2nd German War he was the guest at a school prize giving. He stood up, said those words, made eye contact with every pupil then sat down.
Wow! What a great video. I love watching your channel but I think this is the best video yet. Most enjoyable.
Such amazing progress! Your work ethic, skills & abilities are giving Bruno the best lessons he will ever have. Congratulations on a continued job well done. ✔
Thank you so much!
Long time lurker but first time commenter. I love the beginning of the building and I love watching you on the mill. Take care and God bless.
thanks Sue, dont be such a stranger,
Man i love that word
Another thing off the list. It is coming along great. Have a great weekend
Thanks buddy
Warm weather in the air, post and beam workings and mystery machinery? What's not to love? Thanks Nathan! Blessings to all the Saw Mill Family! DaveyJO in Pa.
Same to you!
Great job, Nathan. Your timber frame is coming along nicely. Very satisfying work.
Thanks 👍👍
Such a great video. Really nailed it on that intro, Nathan! Lived it! Your build is looking so good. Can’t wait to see more & find out what your new mystery equipment is. Be safe & God bless.
Thanks so much!!
Great job installing the next beam and post assembly by yourself. May want to install a bar off the back of the fork cage to keep the beam from falling back onto the tractor cab.
Timber built stuff is cool as hell that's looks awesome man
Well, that was cool. Thanks for your effort & letting us watch you toil!
You bet
Absolutely LOVE the Johnny quote! Had goose bumps instantly!
looking amazing you are building something that is going to last with skill and love.
That's the plan!
That barn is looking great!
Thanks buddy
It’s amazing how you get stuff done alone. Kudos
thanks Chris
Itching for the day to build my timber frame. Awesome job.
You can do it!
Great looking build man! Keep plugging away! Between you and Tim Weaver I’m enjoying getting to see the landscapes via drone style😂
Thanks 👍
As another man who loves critters of all sorts, Mr, your a builder!! And now for all intents and complement intended, I think the entrance and the exits on this video. are just so wow, kicked it out of the park
Thanks. Appreciate you
The barn is coming along great. Looks like you go a new 'tool' also. Hope the family and you are doing well. 'Spin'

Great simply great, well done. It's going to be amazing. Canada our neighbors
I’m just blown away. I have a starter channel and I know what you went through. I can’t help thinking we both had the same face when we reviewed our first video!
Great golf swing, brother; knocking that final section into place. :-)
Thanks 👍
@@OutoftheWoods0623, You've got great content. Keep it up. I fat-fingered a thumb's-down on your previous reply. Honestly, that is something I would never do intentionally. Thanks for all you do. Many of us greatly appreciate your example. :-)
I love seeing more people doing flame treatment - it's worked well for me, too.
why do the flame treatment ? you don't have to paint ? Prevents insects ? IDK, trying to get better and better every day...thanks in advance
Looking good!! It’s coming along nicely.
Thanks!
Nathan that is going to be a great Space, You are doing a Really good job 👍👍👍👍👍👍
ty
You make building that look so easy. Great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
He does “make” it look easy. You never see the film crew he has working in the background.....😉
very nice job friend, I wish I had talent like that
That was a skillful tease there at the end. Can't wait to see what new toy you got.
backhoe,
Good evening Nathan,
You are doing a great job on that shop and storage area. I'm really excited for you. When I moved to the country, I wanted to build a shop. Unfortunately, I got a condition that prevents me from working around woodworking equipment. In some respects, watching what you're doing is like making my dream come true.
Have a beautiful weekend. I appreciate your videos and the love for wood as I also love wood.
thanks David,
Sounds like something Raj would say in front of Howard. Howard's response being... "You love wood you say" or "Can you even hear yourself"
Great job! Always enjoy your channel
Thank you very much!
Pretty inspiring intro, I think I’ll go build something today!
Awesome
Simple if you have a tractor, a mill, lots of heavy duty tools!
What a beauty at the end!
Such an humble spirit.
ty
Oh my...hand cutting all those joins...amazing!
thanks for watching,
Beautiful camera work, as always! 👏
Thanks 👍👍
I love seeing a good whammer in action !
I have been waiting to see if you explain why you are burning the post.? My guesses have been 1 cosmetic, 2 it is actually a fire retardant, old japanese style, 3 something to do with the heat and sap. Another great video my friend, Thanks for taking the time to share this with us. You have given me a few more ideas for our move to Texas. Keep up the greta work and have a blessed, safe and healthy weekend.
Dale
Cosmetic 👍👍
@@OutoftheWoods0623 That was my first guess, well sir, it looks great,.

One more up, and another toy! Life is GOOD!👍🏻
It sure is!
Awesome job. Thanks for sharing. 🇺🇸
Thanks for watching!
I like the hybrid timber frame thing you went with.
I think I might be as excited as you are to see the new shop
👍👍
Amazing job,,,be safe my friend
Thanks 👍
Your workshop is coming right along! Timber Frame looks like it's all about the joinery ... or am I stating the obvious. The drone photography is still awesome even in the winter. Good work.

@@OutoftheWoods0623 ty?
You have a beautiful place to live. Really like your home, I know you are proud of what you have accomplished. I watch barnwood builders and those boys have nothing on your abilities or knowledge.
Its a privilege to watch your videos, thank you for sharing.
appreciate that Gary,
Looking great!!
Thanks!
Really nice work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice work!
Thanks!
That is sweet. Well done
Thanks 👍
Nathan, looking good!
thanks for watching,
Do not underestimate the practical uses of a furniture dolly! Nice work OOW! ooooo! Is that a....backhoe?😇
Agreed
Just a suggestion: When you get the barn finished get an exterminator to treat all you work areas. You've put down a lot of sawdust and that is just a "come-and-get-it" for termites. Tennessee (even the mountains) is the South and bugs are active much more than further north.
Most of his sawdust is burned but some kept for garden compost.
Looking great. God Bless.
Thanks, you too!
Looking good man!!! 🍻
Thank you! Cheers!
Looking good
Thanks 😊
Nice work neighbor.
Thanks 👍
I loved the drone footage on the rafters
thanks!
Pretty awesome
Thanks for watching
I like Your Barn. That timber has an owl looking at you. The twin knots look like owl eyes!
ty
Nathan you “Rock”!
thanks Michael,
That aerial view look almost like the road through shady valley.
Hey Nathan. Bet that feels good 👍
yes sir, finally, good to hear from you
great news in the background, even Rush !
thanks for watching,
It's a mystery to me how you make such precise cuts w/o a blueprint or cheat sheet!---I loved hearing the mourning dove. We have ring-neck doves here, but I can hear the mourning dove when we go to ND.
hey Alana, thanks for watching,
Getting closer 😊😊👍👍👍👍
yes sir
I love a googley eyed bird face on the first timber that you chared.
agreed
L O V E the Johnny Cash quote!

What a busy bee you are
trying
Who cares about the Timber... Those Cordless tools are a man's Dream !
Nathan your doing a great job on the shoppe what's going into it have a good day love from TEXAS
Thanks 👍 appreciate it
You make this look so easy that i quit the timber thing lol!
Great intro. Love the wood work, the dado joints, the mortise and tenon and the wooden dowel's are nice. The scorched wood is a nice touch. It's really looking good.
I don't recall seeing one of your vids with no talking. Man, I've got to get me some forks for my tractor. It seems like every time I turn around I could use 'em for something.
Thanks 👍
It's coming together....😄😄😄
yes
Awesome job! Wish I could be there to help you out if you needed it!
Thanks again!
Nathan, you tease! More mysteries than Agatha Christie!
bakchoe
I noticed on your brace you laid out the tenon from the bottom, in practice it best to lay out from the shoulder side, then reduce the tenon if you need to on the back side this keeps the shoulder at your set off, 1.5 or 2 inches and gives you a proper thickness on your tennon too. Oh, some folk get disturbed about the grey on older timber ahhh just torch it, I will have to remember that one. Haven't gotten into the burned wood, need to try it on a project. got one coming up that will be perfect. I typically assemble with the reference face up and drive pegs from said side. It looks like the braces are set inboard to accommodate the stick built walls, that addresses those pesky braces. The tenons on the top of the post need not be through tenons, helps keep the weather out and less work. hummm something new? Don't mind me and my comments just things I see and its great for the utube A I system. How has your winter been, I presume most of the country got a bit of that cold vortex that Texas got. I'm really looking forward to spring break up.
good points there didn't think about it that way. You should do a proper brace and tenon layout video for rookies like me. That info is hard to find now a days. And yes the braces are inside so when the walls are up you can still see them. Those were white oak, super heavy but strong.
I actually went with two 2x10s for the top plate to set the trusses on top instead of a solid beam. I had a bunch laying around and wanted to put them to use. Appreciate your help,
@@OutoftheWoods0623 Ahhh yes, I missed that part of the frame, then I can see the longer tenon. I have the brace layout video but I don't think I cover setting the tenon off the reference face.
Please use CC for those of us who are hard of hearing. Thanks!
Bruther.. pro..gress.. moving out ..moving up! Looks gud 'ole bearded one
👍👍👍👍
I love timber framing buts it's a hell of a lot of work when modern framing is twice as fast
Was that Johnny Cash speaking at the beginning of the video? Great quote attached to a great build. Thanks for sharing.
Yes it was!
The building is coming along nicely! How's your Dad doing? I remember a while back you said he was retiring and going to be in your videos a lot. Only seen him in one so far. Hope everything is well down yonder.
he is here, just not on camera,
You got me on the teaser, I have no guess. Maybe IG will give a clue?
backhoe,
Nice
Thanks
Best. Intro. Ever. Great job Nathan. Do I spy a backhoe attachment???
-Ben
thanks Ben,
