- Turning 2024 into 1922.
Robert Eggers' "Nosferatu" (2024) is a perfectly crafted adaptation of F. W. Murnau's 1922 groundbreaking masterpiece, so I decided to do a little film experiment and make the new "Nosferatu" look like the original. I took select scenes from the 2024 version and color corrected it to match the yellow, cyan, and magenta dyed aesthetic of the 1922 original, cropped it into a 4:3 ratio, took out the dialogue, and added some digital dust and hairs. This was such a fun way to bridge the 102-year-old gap between the first and latest iterations of this classic story and to see how Robert Eggers' modern style compliments the techniques of the early 20th century. A century of filmmaking represented in just 7 minutes. I hope you enjoy this celebration of "Nosferatu", both the 1922 and 2024 versions.

Footage: "Nosferatu" (2024) and "Nosferatu" (1922)
Audio: "Herr Knock", "A Carriage Awaits", "Come by the Fire", "Lost", "Increase Thy Thunders", "The Third Night", and "Daybreak" by Robin Carolan
I hope there would be a full edit of this one day - Feels like the kind of thing Robert Eggers would do himself lol
Hopefully!
That would be incredible! Someone get Robert Eggers on the phone!
This is really cool! The way Robert Eggers shot this film really fits the silent era style, and you did really well showing that.
Super appreciate that! 🙏
This is so sick, really hoping it wins cinematography at the Oscars. Also a rescore of Nosferatu (1922) with the Carolan’s score would be 🔥
The editing to make the 2024 version of Nosferatu to look like a silent movie is superb ❤
It’s really cool how to combined both versions together to create something ten times creeper. This is amazing that it scares me!
Amazing how it still looks great, the movie itself is almost monochromatic and that helps a lot. The tones of the original movie fit it very well, great job
WOW! that was simply amazing, well done !👏👏
the green-ish tint shots look beautiful, my only gripe with the remake is that it didn't have any green tinted shots like there original did
This gave me chills, bravo!
Excellent editing.
Wow sinister, good job 👏🏻
I like this! what a fun experiment
My god this music! Pure terror! Beautiful!
Utterly, terrifyingly beautiful 💖
I needed this.
Wow, it looks fantastic!
Thank you for making this :)
I was wondering if someone was going to age the new film like this, it turned out better then I would have imagined!
This was fun man! Thanks for doin it!
Of course, my dude! This was super fun to make!
Pure Kino
Possibly the best film I’ve seen in years
Nosferatu 2024 was a masterpiece!!
now do the 1979 one
Yes!
You know if the remake came out in the 20s it probably would have created some kind of mass hysteria? We’re talking fainting and traumatized audience members, other insisting it was like a satanic abomination to be destroyed…
Spooky
Never expected to se drDisrespect in Nosferatu movie.
Very good job. Out of curiosity, what are the fonts you used for you video ?
The font is Operina Pro.
@@theYokoHiguchi Sorry, I meant for the blue/green intertitles. Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think it's Operina Pro (which is a very good choice as a font, BTW).
Thanks to let me know and keep up with the good work.
You forgot to add some brightness and contrast. Modern movies is kinda like a CAMRip where you barely can see the details.
Adjusted the brightness and contrast to a point, but if I went any further, the image became pixelated from the added brightness or too dark with the contrast. The hue and shadows were lightened a tad and the yellow, cyan, and magenta colors brightened the overall image a bit as well. "Nosferatu" (2024) has softer images than the 1922 version, which is more sharp, so it was a bit more difficult adjusting the shadows/tones. Did the best I could on Final Cut Pro X. 👍
I love this!
I did a similar thing with the first trailer for the film when it came out but kept the sound: ruclips.net/video/AtEpl5NKYGU/видео.html
Your version is awesome! Loved it, especially the magenta filter.
No It didn´t work.
