So I started disrespecting him towards the end and eventually left him. Now I know how foolish I was for staying so long and being taken advantage of.

    There tends to be a lot of “a woman this”, and “a man that”. There are so many different kinds of women and men who all prefer different things. I think you all make things a little too tactical-like it’s a chore and is unnatural. I’ve always found that getting to know someone comes with ease, just being yourself and paying attention. If the person isn’t for you, walk away. If they are, bumps and bruisers are part of the experience. Just handle things with care and compromise.
    All human beings have the same basic needs and concerns. Men and women are supposed to be a team. A guest in your show already spoke on this but in the Bible part of the curse was that enmity would be put between man and woman.
    Doubt is a mental state that sometimes arises for one another in both parties, and is not always disrespect. It’s a human thing.
    We have to stop the division-all the finger pointing and picking each other apart. It’s time for us to seethe beauty in our union.

I enrolled him in school so we could take classes and improve together but he didn’t follow through, then started messing around with someone else and could have graduated with me but instead felt intimidated and left with someone else

    Ryan, I am a 50-year-old woman. I will be 51 in May 2024. I am responding to the comment when you said women just want to be mad no we don’t want to just be mad we want to be heard and our feelings to be respected when we are communicating that something is bothering us. We want man to take our thoughts seriously. If men do this there will be less problems in a relationship. It’s almost like as a woman we have to get upset and get mad and throw tantrumin order for MAN to take a simple thing that we are expressing seriously

  • @lovely_shan_ashante
    @lovely_shan_ashante 10 месяцев назад +11

    I love how accurate the reasons were. Thank you guys for what you're doing and not being biased and taking into account what can actually make a woman disrespect a man vs. bashing a woman/man like most of the relationship channels that are out right now. A man not keeping his words, his toxic behaviors towards me, being a yes man, always looking to me for all of the answers, and a man who can't accomplish or finish what he started really hits home for me. It made me feel like I couldn't trust his judgement and that I had to be the leader throughout most of the relationship. Men sometimes thinks the reason is because she's cheating and that isn't the case all of the time. Its often about what smaller things that have gone unnoticed or she's tried to communicate it to her man and nothing has changed.

    I was In a relationship just like that-no follow through. He has not to this date, received the proper certification. He is retired and have been working on this for 7 years! I was going to have his business set up with connections I had in finance as well as an established, credible customer base. However, he chose to pursue other women at 63 years of age. In two years, he’s lost money, wild sex and assaulted by scandalous, but beautiful, very young women. (They found out he really didn’t have any money.) Has he learned any lessons? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Well, I’ve moved on and found someone else far more worthy of my time and that appreciates my efforts.
    GREAT PODCAST! Plan to join this week! Keep up the good work!! The younger you learn these hard lessons, the better you’ll be. You will not learn at 65 years of age-by then, it’s a wrap.

    Every human is dysfunctional. We are working toward health and choosing people whose dysfunction we can tolerate while managing our own.
    Great talking points. I am of the mindset that no healthy woman will disrespect a man unless she is operating from her unhealthy self. Health can never produce disrespect. She will communicate her desires and decide to leave if what she wants isn’t happening, but disrespect is always a fruit of dysfunction. Even if that dysfunction is simply a lack of understanding or miscommunication.

      I disagree. If a person doesn't do things honorably or isn't respectful, a normal human reaction from anyone would be that in return. A self-controlled person wouldn't perpetuate or retaliate. As you have said, they would simply walk away. But assuming dysfunction in the face of basic human interaction and fragility is worrisome at best.

      I would also like to add that based on what you shared, you haven't really taken time to study women by listening to them well enough. That is something I tend to notice a lot from men who speak about how women should or can be. It is a slippery slope since you are not a woman. Safety is denoted by respect and honor. Disrespect isn't always voluntary as it shows up as a reflex when a man isn't that of a respectful or honorable leader. I think we should all work towards being better in that regard, as you mentioned, because we are all flawed and need to be tempered emotionally.

      @@nikhefe16 Everybody is dysfunctional is truth. The fact that you say the normal response to disrespect is disrespect proves that to be true. A healthy person would not operate that way, but also it is only a healthy person who could “not” retaliate. We are all people working through dysfunction to become healthy, any other belief is a form of self deception. The recognition of dysfunctional and unhealthy traits is what helps us to be truly healthy, but we are born into and trained in dysfunction. It shouldn’t be worrisome, it should be an acknowledgment of your humanity and need for improvement.

      @@nikhefe16 My statement is based on the women I’ve studied. My mother, my married sister, my aunts, my grandmothers, even women I’ve dated are examples that prove what I stated. I dated a woman who we disagreed all the time, we misunderstood each other, I said I would do stuff that life prevented me from doing, but that woman is one of my dopest friends to this day because of instead of communicating solely from her feelings, she was willing to listen and Learn to communicate better with me. She NEVER disrespected me even when it was clear she was disappointed and wanted something other than what I was willing to give. Many women trap themselves in their emotions and refuse to see themselves as nothing other than two extremes, “right” or a “victim”. It’s not reality and that is why so many relationships are lost. Thankfully, I have women who are honest about themselves and their failures in relationships around me and also have men around me who at are legitimate leaders and who hold men and women accountable. I’m a man who studies for a living. That’s why anything that is led by extremism is problematic for me.

    Can't follow after poor leadership or poor treatment. Especially if you already have kids, id rather follow and listen to myself than listen to a man who isnt fully together.
