The owner and his friends ( a bunch chinese kids dressed like he was in the matrix) was staring at me the whole time time. The group also had a lambo and a nissan gt-r. I guess the gt-r guy was their version of a poor friend.

They’re from the 90’s and they didn’t make that many and because rich people have decided that they’re extremely desirable so the competition to purchase them has driven the price way up. The F1 is also the only car to have 3 front seats with a middle seating position for the driver until recently. It also held the top speed record for a road legal car for a long time. Just like with everything else. Products are only worth what people are willing to pay for it but the billionaires of the world have decided the F1 is the car to have. I’m sure racing heritage may have something to do with it but i don’t know much about that

@@tekiwi of course this F1 is extremely rare, it was one of the few regular F1s that was converted by McLaren to an ‘LM Spec’. It has the similar front bumper and spoiler. However, this car IS NOT one of the original 5 (or 6?) true LMs which have different flared out side skirts, a single air intake on one side of the car, and a differently shaped hood. What I’m trying to say is that the car in this video is not one of the original F1 LMs that were created, but instead a normal F1 with a body kit similar to that of an LM.
@@SPEEDFRAK Which is what the original comment stated only the number of cars built was wrong by 3, the car is however a full LM Spec mechanically along with many other Factory upgrades. To call the car a "Regular F1" with a high down force kit is a genuine misquote.
Fun fact: They still make engines for this that are replaced every 10 years roughly as they stretched the capability of this engine a lot. Really ahead of its time this car.
They have spare engines and will manufacture new parts (when required) but they don’t produce the engines anymore. Should an F1 require an engine rebuild, the engine can be swapped out for a spare at MSO.
I remember when this car came out in the early 90's people thought it was crazy to pay 1 million for a car. What an awesome investment it turned out to be at it's current value!

It’s actually cheaper to daily drive a Lamborghini or hellcat than it is a shitbox honda. What’s crazy is a corvette gets better fuel economy than a Honda Accord on the highway. My c6 corvette got 35 mpg.

They’re from the 90’s and they didn’t make that many and because rich people have decided that they’re extremely desirable so the competition to purchase them has driven the price way up. The F1 is also the only car to have 3 front seats with a middle seating position for the driver until recently. It also held the top speed record for a road legal car for a long time. Just like with everything else. Products are only worth what people are willing to pay for it but the billionaires of the world have decided the F1 is the car to have. I’m sure racing heritage may have something to do with it but i don’t know much about that

@@tekiwi of course this F1 is extremely rare, it was one of the few regular F1s that was converted by McLaren to an ‘LM Spec’. It has the similar front bumper and spoiler. However, this car IS NOT one of the original 5 (or 6?) true LMs which have different flared out side skirts, a single air intake on one side of the car, and a differently shaped hood. What I’m trying to say is that the car in this video is not one of the original F1 LMs that were created, but instead a normal F1 with a body kit similar to that of an LM.

Secondly, by the time you factor inflation into the equation, $1M in 1992 would buy what $1.9M buys today, so basically cut any “gain” in half because the value of money has changed. Given the huge number of hypercars available now, I can’t imagine a 30 year old one being worth $18M. Yes, it’s a collector’s vehicle, but look what else you can get for $18M...
