And somehow that t.50 is ugly as fuck compared to F1 especially rear

It still gives me goosebumps the first time he floors it in second gear from the original video in 92. That noise is like nothing else!

Heh, maybe 16 or 17 years ago when this was filmed it may have been true. EDIT: Oh, 18 years ago - 2002.
Even then he said better lights, slimmer scoop and get the fans sorted properly. All this time later and he still wouldn't change much. People forget the F1 was a fan car.

I think this vdo is posted deliberately to discredit Tiff; now that 5th Gear and him parted.
I remember thrashing a Lamorghini around Thruxton and noticed something in my peripheral vision as I was taking one of the sweeping corners on that fantastic circuit. It was Tiff Needell in an M5, only weirdly he was pointing pretty much directly at me - it was the most outrageous bit of drifting I've ever seen. He is some driver.
1:20 and now $23 million, give or take a million or two. Worth every penny i think.
I wonder how much Gordon Murray's one in silver with the unique mirrors would fetch? Add the LM wheels and the carbon brakes McLaren can now equip it with (Murray always intended it to have carbon brakes) and you would have my ultimate unicorn car.

Lol overpriced. It's just a BMW V12 bolted to an incredibly light body. But then again the British have a habit of overrating everything they build. I'd rather have an F40 which cost about 20 million less and sounds better.

That 10 seconds or so near the end when we're clearly seeing his 'O' face. That's what we want in a car review.
Tiff is really a great guy to review cars because he's a good drive. Him and Harris I feel like were my favorites.

I video-recorded Tiff's first drive of the F1 in 1992, and still have it somewhere on DVD ! Exciting times !
I still remember the first time i laid eyes on one, I was 11 and i walked around that car for hours
I always had F1LM wallpapers on my early 2000s PC.

Suhail Nayanthara I’m pretty sure the t.50 will be a better car on paper, performance or experience. What I believe the t.50 will have to live up to are things like being a Le Man winner on the 1st year, holding the fastest record for years before technology caught up, being limited bec. of circumstance not by design and other intangibles that makes the F1 legendary.

Gordon Murray is a genius and understands the joy of driving. The performance this car achieved was a by product of the engineering and attention to detail.
For those who say "but such and such is faster", really can't be petrol heads, as they don't understand the joy of driving.
It is gonna be good but it can't surpass the f1 because it doesn't have all the morden nonsense like safety features TC and a billion sensors

Saw one in Keswick Britain. Parked in a bad street for 3 days outside my house.
Turns out the guy was just there to drive mountain back roads, tried my hardest to get a ride but only managed to sit in it :( . There were a McLaren SLR and a 356 also. Great view while doing the dishes :)

The best hypercar ever so far as am concerned. That BMW M1 engine is something else altogether. A persistent heavenly growl through and through. A masterpiece of automotive engineering team McLaren; never to be forgotten.
M8 prototyp engine v12 is in mclaren f1. M1 engine is inline 6.

Timeless, incredibly good looking car. If simulators are anything to go by, Gordon Murray definitely knows how to make a car handle well too. It can only be beaten by the GMA T50.

I only Like Italian cars, but this is the best car ever.
I had one park next to me at Donington race track back in ‘93, as a 19 year old it made my year when I went back to my car to see what was parked next to it.

I remember when there was a Maclaren showroom in marble Arch London back in the eighties and going into the showroom and asked how much is it, and the salesman said from what i can remember was around £400,000, and it was in a nice silver grey colour. Those were the days.
Car was released in 93-94. Which car did they have in the showroom? To my knowledge the F1 was the only car they made before Mclaren Automotive was formed and released the MP4-12C. Your comment made me curious if I’m mistake. Thanks
This guy probably drove hundreds of amazing cars but he is like a child in 3:15. What an amazing experiance. Even professional driver like him considers himself ``lucky`` to drive one.
This car is just a legend...the best car in the automotive history...forgive me because there are many influential cars across the time ..but no one comes close to this BEAST, it the ultimate road car, that became the ultimate racing machine with just few adjustments and defeats everyone on tracks and road... it's just...it the god of cars, and it won that tittle on the pavement, of roads and tracks across the world

I know 5th Gear own the footage, but I don't know how they have the cheek and utter insensitivity to dump Tiff and then keep posting these videos and describing them as "awesome", "brilliant" or "legendary". You know he's the best. WE know he's the best.
What a beautiful spec, love this aero kit version.
Though the engine was built by BMW. It was designed by Gordon Murray and they built it to his exact design a fantastic engine, the sound of it beats any other super car. The F1 is still the fastest naturally aspirated car in the world today!

I'm 27 love cars, mechanic love muscle care blah blah blah lol but... To this day, I do vividly remember being like 6 or 7 in elementary school and checking out a car book. On the front cover was the McLaren F1 never heard of it, I read all about it and it's one of the fond memories I have and a little push twords my LOVE fo cars

It's sad how many Americans say it's crap over rated and it's not ugly hearing a few say it's ugly says a lot about them. McLaren didn't need turbos just a pure driver's car seated in the centre that's awesome. Even koenigsegg said this f1 inspired some of his cars which is lovely to hear.

3:49 pretty good statement. McLaren F1 was desinged to driven by worthy drivers to understand true greatness of it. It didn`t gave you the control over car easly. This is one of the things that made it so beautiful. You had to fight with it for gaining control. Something like Bugatti Veyron would give you the control but steals the action. This is why Carrera GT was loved that much despite considered as most dangerous production car.
It was the era of iconic and classic super cars - design, performance, speed, sound and quality.

Greatest Sports car ever made.
I had a die cast 1/18th scale F1 LM GTR in orange. I remember I payed a lot for it. I completely agree its the best car in the world even after all these years. Gordon Murray just came out with its spiritual successor. With a Manual transmission, naturally aspirated V12 and three abreast seating. Thank you.

@@thecloneguyz Lmao F1 accelerates faster than a Veyron that has 1001 PS, a big 8L W16 engine with 4 turbos. Meanwhile, F1 only has a 6.1L V12 engine without a single turbo or a single supercharger making 627 PS. The F1 literally has 4 less turbos and 4 less cylinders. It took Bugatti over a decade to beat the F1 and they needed too many things to beat the F1
