I remember being overtaken ( big surprise there ) by a bright orange F1 GTR on the motorway, it's much smaller on the road than I thought, stunning noise as it cruised past.
One of those rare cars that were created with instant perfection. I just love Gordon Murray talk about it, how it was conceived in an airport restaurant, how little it took to turn it into a LeMans car etc. A car that was born out of a pure passion, with no marketing studies, hundreds of engineers and with a real father fugure, genius, Gordon Murray.
It might even be double that, honestly. F1 prices continue to go up as more people want to join the F1 Owners Club, but no one wants to sell their F1 because they are truly such a wonderful car. It's at the point now where you really have to shell out some cash to make someone want to give one up... like how could you sell this car haha
@Sam Adams there's more to it than just that. The engine sounds gorgeous, the design is astounding (especially in person), and lots of people drove it and fell in love with it in older racing video games, same way I did. Its personal preference, not just race podiums and price.

People who own cars like this, own a dozen other cars, so none of them are going to be high mileage, or daily driven. 4. People with rare exotics often SHIP them to their destination before they drive them a short distance, then SHIP them back home.
I was fortunate enough to be parked behind a black version of the high down force F1 on the Channel Tunnel. The owner was driving it out to Spa with his grandson for a McLaren track event. He was going to drive his actual race car for that, not the F1. Funny story, I was in my Wrangler(giant steel bumper) and the train attendant kept trying to get me to inch closer to the F1. I stopped, roller the window down and said, "I wasn't moving". I told her the car was, at the time, a 3-5Mil Euro car. She said, "you're good there" with a bit of a scared look on her face. Talked with the owner for about 25min. Very nice gentleman. Took a few pictures then parted ways.

I've seen this car a couple of times in real life, it's usually covered in bug splatters and has the odd stone chip..... brilliant! Absolutely brilliant that it gets used for what it's supposed to!
It's the only car that reminds me of a watch. The greatest analog watch that could ever be made. The machining, the precision, the design. Completely unique. Zero compromise. It's just incredible. There's never been a S72/3 engine.
It was always called the S70/2 and nope they dind't change engine for the GTR or LM spec.
Just tuned it.
There is an S70/3 engine used for LeMans but it had less hp, smaller displacement but more torque in lower rpms than the standard road model.
