The journey to Gotland continues this week with the second part of "From the Town of Roses and Memories", the magical medieval town of Visby.🌹🏰We start by going along the coast a bit south of Visby, down to the impressive cliff of Högklint, next to which we find the dramatic rock formation where in the 18th century the robber Lilja used to hide in a cave.🌄After that the mood changes as we hear the sensual and hypnotic singing of the mermaids while the waves gently hit the beach beneath the precipice of Högklint.🧜‍♀Back in town, the kids play a very lively game - "last pair out". Just try to keep up with their energy!🏃‍♀🏃Finally then, it’s time to take the ferry back to the mainland, and as the composer says an emotional goodbye to his friends and relatives, we hear a melancholy melody in the style of a Swedish folk song, fading away at the end as the lovely isle of Gotland fades out of view while we look out from the ferry deck.🛳🏝Now as always, don’t forget to like, subscribe, and of course - if you haven’t listened to part one, do it now!😃

The sad thing is that most Swedes are similarly unaware... We're terrible at preserving our musical heritage here, which is one reason why I play all these things! Most Swedish stuff I play here is largely unknown to the wider audience...!
