Wenzhou is famous for their juicy wontons, and people travel from afar to enjoy these delicious local handmade treats - and so did we!
Following a recommendation from our Wenzhou fans, we ended up in this small local wonton shop, and had one of the best handmade wonton meals we've had in a long time. With different fillings like shrimps, pork and some surprising veggies, each bite is a delicious surprise.

Traditionally and historically people in Shanghai eat small wantons and people in Wenzhou big wantons. Both kinds are delicious in terms of wrapper softness/smoothness and fillings being tender and juicy.

We don't call moon shape wonton but "yuen pou 元宝" shape. Yuen Pou is some sort of silver nuggets that Chinese used in ancient time as a form of money. And thus it represents wealthy and prosperous.

@3:20 you said "vinegar", it's actually "fish sauce". In Guangzhou or the southern we consume "red vinegar" instead of "black vinegar" (usually for noodle to compensate the alkaline). "fish sauce" is quite regular for Chaozhou (famous of rice noodle). Chilly sauce and soy sauce are just regular in every Chinese cuisine.

In Shenzhen we had delicious beef sizzling hot plate for dinner the other day. Family of 4 for $10 including drinks! So then $8 for wontons seems a bit steep 😂😂
