Anthony Arillotta discussed his survival despite cooperating with authorities against the mob while continuing to live in Springfield. He highlighted the misconception about mob retaliation, noting that organized crime doesn't operate like street gangs. Arillotta emphasized the complications and risks involved in modern-day hits due to extensive surveillance and the high likelihood of getting caught. Arillotta, a former mobster, pointed out that murders would attract significant law enforcement attention, discouraging mob bosses from ordering hits. With today's technology, evading capture after a kill is virtually impossible. Reflecting on the current state of organized crime, Arillotta estimated that 98% of mob members are informants, diluting the traditional mob codes. He also announced his forthcoming book, "Southend Syndicate: How it took over the Genovese Springfield Crew," set to release on September 17. The book aims to shed light on the mafia activities in western Massachusetts and Connecticut, regions often overlooked in mob lore.
