I no right. I literally cannot fathom how anyone could commit a crime like this. You’ve got to be seriously messed up in the head or just plain evil to do that to any vulnerable person. It makes u look even more pathetic to target someone weaker than u. X
Last week my elderly father "won" 8.8 million dollars, eight thousand a month and a Mercedes car. And today he "won" Publisher's Clearing House grand prize. I keep asking them how they sleep at night and is their Mother happy they try to scam older people. It was interesting to see them try to work me into believing they were not scammers. Fortunately my Dad is coherent and able to protect himself.
Brief Case, I collect antique papers and such and was going through one of my albums this weekend and came across a trade card for George Haas Fine Candies that was located in San Francisco in the 1800 and early 1900's. It rang a bell with me and then I remembered that was the candy store that Cordeila Botkin bought chocolates from, laced with arsenic and mailed to the wife of the man she had been having an affair with. It killed the poor woman, her neighbor and sickened others. You had covered the case four years ago in an episode. Cordeila Botkin is the perfect sounding name for an evil Victorian era villainess.
I really fell off with checking in every Monday morning like I once did...but man! Getting the day started while packing lunch for my daughter, starting breakfast, and sipping coffee while listening is a real treat. Thanks Brief Case!
Hello, I have a cousin who is Swedish, he is from Malmo, and he sent me voice notes, but they are never easy, Skogskyrkogården was difficult but I just really wanted to try saying it :)
Your voice is so relaxing Mr. Brief Case. You tell a story very well and this one didn’t fail to keep us engaged. Thank you for all your research and efforts you put forth every week. It makes Monday’s special. ❤
Gday BC, this was an interesting case, the research was excellent and the narration as always impeccable. I was wondering uf you could possibly look into the crown prince Sado 1700s. He claimed 100 victims. Keep safe.
Thanks for another great Brief Case! In Tennessee, we are still waiting for last week's snow to melt, school is still closed. I'm over it, but my kid is pleased! Hope you are staying cozy in your corner of the world😊
A Brief Case video to fit into my morning just fantastically. Hearing all the interesting cases make you realize that other people are the most dangerous beings around you.
Starting my week out with you BC is the best way to go! Another interesting case and sad, I can't imagine what that poor couple went through, dying of that arsenic poisoning. Greed will out a person's guilt every time. Thank you for this video BC.
Can't beat listening to abit of Brief Case. Always one of me fave go to channels for True Crime especially ones going back in time that are barely unheard of
Thanks for the upload, Brief Case! I've been doing a lot of grocery shopping in between the snow last week (where an inch of snow shuts down the city) and the transit strike this week. I'm stocked up for now.
Frans is the kind that only thinks of themselves. What he wanted, he took and participating in murder to get what he wanted did not bother his conscience any. He lived much longer than he deserved and his poor finances and health at the end do not compensate for his short time in jail (20 years for two murders) Thank you Brief Case. I particularly loved your beautiful text in describing Stockholm. It was poetry.
A very interesting case that I had not heard about before. Truly a despicable crime quite worthy of the sentences the perpetrators originally received.
Brief case, Love your channel. I and others appreciate all your time, research and hard work churning these videos out. Love the old picture scenes. They are priceless! Love the one especially at 3:31!
Good morning, How sad Frans decided to live a life crime by stealing a suit, and continuing to get into trouble. Nothing disturbs me more than children or elderly people attacked because they’re so defenseless. Sometimes I feel people are executed because of their morals and not because they’re guilty. I truly believe these three were guilty but that’s just my opinion. I guess they felt they had to kill in order not to leave witnesses, and in the matter which the couple was killed, was such a horrible, horrible way. some people choose to make a honest, living to survive, and it may not be much money but it’s enough to help raise a family. Some people choose to lead a life of crime, which never ends up well. thank you once again for another interesting story. I hope you have a wonderful week and looking forward to next Monday. Bless
Hi B.C.! These people had to be insanely ruthless. To leave them in agony and ignore their crying. I can’t believe they got out. They should not have been able to even ask for early release. I so love you B.C. ❤️
What an example of how prison systems are not meant to reform people. I'm a new-ish subscriber here, and I really appreciate this channel. Please do the case of Hannah Brown from 1836. I’m currently reading a book that went into detail on the case and it sounds like a perfect fit for this channel.
As being a Swede and also almost from Västerås I don't think I have ever heard about this man. Thank you for all your videos! Have followed your channel a long time now!
I’d be curious to know how the police determined that it wasn’t carbon monoxide that killed the elderly couple. Autopsy? Witnesses? That part’s missing in yet another interesting Monday case from BC!
Thank you for the history on punishments. As a lawyer, I find it interesting to hear about the reasons capital punishment has been abolished in various countries.
I think putting a non violent offender in prison with violent offenders is a recipe for disaster. The system brutalizes and hardens, not rehabilitates.

What a sad case. One question, and I may have missed it, When Kerstis Olsdotter's sentence was commuted to life, did she ever have a successful appeal? Vestlund and Ericksson were both released, so it begs the question. 🤔
Thanks for this, I'm Swedish, born an live in Stockholm. I have study a lot about the Swedish history and of course there be still a lot to find out . And just as great watch these very old photos too.
Hello again Dear BC! 💼 Has it been a week? Time is flying! Thank you again for another lesser known case, and for your consistent efforts to articulate the facts and pronounce foreign languages and locations quite properly... again, it is late and tho it is late, I STILL managed to get here. As I'm getting ready for bed, winding down and listening to your calming voice. I really do so appreciate the tone of your voice! Very relaxing. So thank you, once again! As for this story...it is sad that it seems those who were the poorest of poor would get desperate enough to do terrible things, I guess starting with theft which would get them off the streets, out of the weather, and in a jail, where it may be slightly better conditions if they were fed and sheltered. It is horrifying tho that they would conspire and murder that poor couple, who hadn't done anything to them. I'm not sure the punishment fit the crime. I hope you have a wonderful week...we are expecting snow here in Pennsylvania again tomorrow. At least it held off until January. I'm not much of a fan of winter, so I'm always grateful for mild ones that pass quickly! I hope you're safe and comfortable wherever you may be this week. (Resa)

Thank you for sticking to more little known cases BC. Someone should remember the victims that time forgot.
It's a shame that condemned criminals don't (and didn't) show as much concern and sympathy for their victim(s) as society has shown for them.
Sickening what they did to that harmless elderly couple its always heartbreaking to hear about vulnerable people being targeted in this way
