I honestly see a lot of potentially in clockpunk, but I hope they move away from Steam in fashion and move more into actual Renaissance styles. Also more frescoes, plz.
Ive recently learned about the "punk" genres past Steam and Cyber. Heck to be honest I didn't even knew there were more than Cyber and Steam, or that Cyber and Steam were somewhat connected. And honestly ClockPunk seems like my type of thing. I love being able to take old things and being able to modernize it while staying true to its conception, and this and Steam are RIGHT up my alley. Although I still like the more futuristic ones like Cyber and Bio, but I think so far Clock is probably my favorite Punk genre. Edit: question, would a combo of Steam and Clock be a good combo, or would that just be one or the other
Most steampunk or clockpunk has a bit of both in them it’s the focus is it about clock work gods or clock work people it’s clock punk. Is it flying galleons, Victorian values and adventure it’s steampunk. Welcome to the circus I’ve covered a lot of punk genres and working on more soon.
Cyborg Lion you mean my evolution remark? I meant steam ➡️ clock ➡️ cyber in that example steampunk came first as real world concept not tech progression. And was more as point to how I think clock shares more with cyberpunk than Diesel does. Normally yeah it’s clock, steam, diesel, cyberpunk.
Cyborg Lion it’s a matter of focus. In my opinion you see more robots and artificial limbs in clockpunk than diesel (both things I hold as hallmarks of cyberpunk) which is focused more on war machines/flying vehicles but that’s just it it’s my opinion .
This is why I’m excited for Avowed, which is set in the Pillars of Eternity universe. It’ll be a AAA clockpunk/flintlock fantasy RPG, which is a rarity.
A mess. 😝 naw seriously the car would be clockpunk but not the world around it. Unless the world went through a Neo renaissance before going fury road.
@@NylasWUP Fair fair lol. I was thinking more post-apoc when resources are scarce and fuel isn't found. Many post-apoc settings seem to gloss over that fuel is perishable.
Well, renpunk is "What if something happened to our modern tech/ electricity that sets us back to the renaissance era and remnants of our modern technology, like guns."
There is a way to separate clockpunk from steampunk, with clockpunk being more Renaissance and classic and steampunk more Victorian and Industrial. So the way to separate the two is to make clear the strong aspects of clockpunk, with springs, winding mechanisms, da vincci's inventions, and of course... LOTS OF CLOCKS!!!!
Since this is the closest thing to steampunk, I wanted to tell you there is a joke punk called grillpunk inspired by the steamed hams meme. I'm all silly and seriousness there are foodpunks (that aren't NFTs) that exist. Baconpunk is a mix of utopia and dystopia surrounding bacon, bacon grease, and the worship of breakfast. Cornpunk- 1930s dustbowl "What if we could only produce corn?" Burgerpunk- Corporations are absurdly in control. Signs of the next fast-food place is everywhere. It's a not-so subtle critic on American culture. It's a boring dystopia. Nowpunk but with more fast food
You are taking into consideration folks that have seizures when ironically cyberpunk 2077 did not,and that should have put warning label on it ,but they didn't.

@@NylasWUP Honestly great, the Leonardo Da vinci segment was really creative and interesting, but having another vid with a different quality is jarring IMO, I really liked it tho clockpunk is underrated, and if you put magic concepts like divine symmetry and the rotation of the cosmos it would work
1490s to 1527 ascetically it can be placed there in or far future or an alternate reality as long as it keep the Renaissance style and clockwork is a big part of people’s lives.
who knew a fiction based off of da vinci work and clock systems could be so intresting and cool

@@brainderp808 And the buttons! 😢
@@brainderp808 They're a bitch to draw and even worse to sew. But SO worth it.
@@brainderp808 That is most certainly fair.
I've taken on some projects and I'm like, "I bit off more than I can chew."
Definitely more frescos….clothes maybe a modern twist self buttoning buttons would be cool with gear buttons.
@@NylasWUP Now I'm thinking of outfits I could wear with a French Hood. 🤔
Italian Renaissance Clockpunk is something we all need more of in our lives
There's also windpunk is trying to be a thing, but it doesn't seem to be catching wind yet.
I've seen alchemypunk float around. You can guess what that genre deals with. Thought you might like it as I can you like a certain anime.

How is it between diesel and steam . It's obviously before both

I have game pass I’ll have to keep an eye open for it
Despite having some steam related engines,i think Amnesia the dark descent and Thief 2: the metal age are good clockpunk settings.
The greek created clockpunk with the antetherium mechanism
What would you call a car built from salvaged car and bicycle parts into a clockwork car in a post-apoc style?

I would call the genre of your story Post-Aclockalypse.
In all seriousness, I imagine a duck-taped version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Any opinions on Renpunk? To me it sounds like clockpunk but without the clock. Oh, there's also lumber/amishpunk which revolves around wood.
Both sound kinda lame srry never heard ether till this comment so not a lot of opinion on ether

That sounds really lame I’ll have Rp look into them

Think this was plenty good without the SCP bit, it was hard to hear what was being said.
