A new short film called Metropius could be Decopunk then even though it referred to as Deaselpunk.

I'm a small town boy from southern Wisconsin, I need me some rolling hills, running rivers, grassy fields, and stretches of woodlands, but I can't see myself coming to like this genre overmuch. It feels too idealistic, too naive, too utopian, all of which can and will come crashing down with the introduction of a single imperfection. In short, solarpunk is less of a dystopia and more of a dystopia waiting to happen. Huh, maybe if people approached it from that angle, I could come to like it since then there'd be some actual conflict to drive the story.

Decopunk is a subgenre of dieselpunk. You mostly described noirpunk, but they bleed into each other a lot.

Question: Has anyone ever considered revisioning modern or semi-modern firearms within a deco/diesel punk environment? Is that even possible? Would that completely invalidate the idea or purpose of deco/ diesel punk?

Mad Max isn't dieselpunk, it's post-apocalyptic/wasteland punk.

Can you touch on Raypunk again? Just a more in depth analysis. Technology, clothes, ships, types of antagonists, etc. Is there a way for it not look goofy and more of just a sci fi filter over regular 1950s stuff or “clean” Star Wars?

Genetically modified bioluminescent plants are also a big part of it. Also I personally think of lunarpunk as the yin to the yang of solarpunk. But still another solid video. PS: Solarpunk has become more definable in its details, like permaculture being a major part of it, not just lunarpunk. But I would broadly sum it up as a counter movement for a harmonic balance between human society, wild nature, and advanced technology for the wellbeing of all. It’s a never ending process for balance, rather than a utopian destination.

Lunar punk feels like it has more horror potential than Solar Punk. I see some potential.

We NEED stories to understand stuff. From the man buying 15 watermelons (teaching math) to the man breaking into a house and suing the homeowner when he cut his leg (teaching law) and ect.
