Well of course after I make the video a hear it look line PL will be out in August…looks like it’s system shock remake. Will see how it shakes out internet rumor as what not.
Can you cover more nitty gritty details on raypunk?
I’m not sure what more I could cover unless theirs been some changes since my made my original video
I’m really just looking for more visual aid, examples, stuff not to do if I’m creating a raypunk space opera and maybe things I can add like fantasy elements (ie magic)
I’d use alien magic but that to my taste. Nothing says you can’t use magic in ray punk. As what not to do example. Saturn 9 it’s got the look down and it’s very close to a ray punk story but with what is 4 character story the still made the only woman the damsel in distress and while that can be a plot point it should not be her only characterization. Ripley of it all. Also just terrible dubbing for no reason. The green slime for the same reason but I give it a little more leeway because everything else is good. The Atompunk opera. It’ll make you want to not do an atom or raypunk story. I can give you tons of examples of it done right Barbarella comic and movie, Space Dandy, post criss Adam Strange, Jack Kirby’s 2001 a space odyssey, mass effect most space prog rock album covers but done wrong not so much. My advice is make sure space/alien planet isn’t treated as just another place to work another back drop. It’s an adventure.
