Is this the same part that would cause a squeaking noise not a rubbing noise but a squeaking noise when you get almost to the end of a steering wheel lock it does it mainly when it’s humid outside on a 2019 Hyundai Tucson SEL all-wheel-drive
Dear HHT, I am a senior citizen, pls help as the issue started on my Accent (Verna) Fluidic 2012 Diesel, the steering used to give a noise when turning on stationary roads, then the problem aggravated to Hard Steering but there was sound also. Now no sound but very hard with EPS LIGHT constantly on.. Do I need to change EPS Motor or Control Module as HASS confuses more.
@Hyundai how to Just a follow up question , since the new worm shaft ideally should be within certain manufacturing tolerances and limits , do you know the technical reasons as to why it makes the steering tighter/harder after this fix is performed?
Hello friend, I see your videos and I realize that you are very talented for hyundai cars, I would like to ask you something, I have a hyundai elantra MD2015 and the steering has a little noise, when I turn from side to side stopped, my elantra does not have a flexible coupling, because it is 2015, years 2012 and 2013 have the flexible star-shaped coupling, but mine does not have it. Do you know if I have to tighten a nut or do another procedure? my elantra has 25,000 kilometers it is very new thanks for your help!
Just fixed the same in mine couple of days ago , now the steering requires slightly more effort to turn and centering action is not as quick as before the fix. My dealer says it'll automatically correct itself after a few hundred miles , should i be concerned?
I have a 2013 kia soul plus does it take this part as well I doubt it may be under warranty as it has almost 118,000 miles on it but what would be the part number with the entire kit and bearing like in the video
Hello brother i just replace steering coupler bushing in steering motor and now rubbing voice start coming from steering why is that? Can you tell me please
My 2012 Elantra is making that very noise, but my 10yr/100,000 warranty is up. So now what? I have a friend who is a mechanic and won’t charge me the enormous amount that the dealerships charge. How can he get the parts and tools?
I have the same problem with my 2013 Elantra…it doesn’t have any clunking noises, just the rubbing with some light clicking-worst with full rotation. Honestly, not sure what it is 😳
I just bought a used 21 Sonata with this issue. I am surprised there's no recall on this item. Mine just have gone over 60,000 miles. Will warranty cover this?
@@hyundaihowto Thanks. Your channel is really helpful for a new Hyundai owner like me. I saw this TSB has been updated to worm shaft bearing replacement which seems to be an easier fix, just don't know how long before noise comes back.
@@richdeschamps5430 Thanks, I had this noice since I bougth this car, I thought, it maybe leather, or plastic but it never went away, I think I maybe out of warranty now
Does the puller and bearing installer come together? And what the part number for the bearing? Thanks great video!
where did you get the tools to remove and install the bearing?
Awesome information & tutorial
Excellent vid Huge thanks!!! Is this also applicable to the 2019 Hyundai TUscon as I am experiencing a very similar noise.
I haven't seen it in a 2019.
@@hyundaihowto thanks. It seems to plague so many of the Hyundai models which all have the same steering system that I’m sure it’s the same with mine
Thank you for you video. My 2012 sonata only noise when I revised my car terming steering. Driving or park all good . Do you think is same issue?
I think it's something else.
Dealer replaced mine and there’s a bit of a rattle when going over bumps now. Thoughts on the cause? Would rather just fix it myself…
Check all the screws that was removed and make sure they are there a snug.

Not likely. I've never heard squeaking from it.

I've never seen a diesel one here.

I don't know for sure but the bearing maybe slightly bigger.
I have the same exact sound coming from my steering wheel it started about 2 weeks ago. I have a 2021 Elantra with only 5,300 miles on it.
my sonata 2011 is making this noise. Is it the same thing?
My 2015 sonata has this rubbing sound does this apply in my case and is it under warranty? Thank you!
I haven't seen this problem on a 2015. And it out of warranty. I would pay for the diagnostic so your not throwing parts at it.

If it sounds like rubbing noise its most likely the bearing.

No. It will become less and less noticeable.
@@hyundaihowto Thanks a ton!

Be sure its not the steering column covers. They may not be on just right.
I have this issue on my 2013 kia soul. Looks like i will never get the noise fixed with out a part number.
Whats the part number ? Name of bearing
It’s possible for 2018 Elantra sel ?

this model its more likely a clunking noise and loose feeling steering wheel, which would need a steering coupler.

All Models ! Inc 2021/2022 Santa Fe ?
Yes. Not really a recall but a campaign. If you hear the noise bring to the dealership.
I just did the coupler and still have this noise mines a 2013 Elantra should I do this also?
The coupler is a clunking noise and the bearing is a rubbing noise.
@@hyundaihowto any idea how to go about this getting done out of warranty? Preferably without the dealer? Haha

That is the same problem on kia models, right?
Yes

At what date was this issue fixed in production?
Production dates January 01 2017 February 28 2018
Or November 07 2019 may 03 2020
They just fixed this in mine today, when I picked up steering seems to be a little tight, is that normal after a repair like this?
Shouldn't change steering just the noise

It's not a recall but may be covered under extended warranty.
What are the consequences of leaving it as it is?
possible cold sores or probably just have the noise
