Informative video, thank you. I sincerely hope all owners take note and address this before it is too late. I remember there wasn't a problem with Abarth thefts 10 years ago because the brand was in its infancy. Now Abarth numbers have exploded so there is a market for cheap parts after they've been chopped up.
Another thing for 124 owners (or cars with keyless entry in general) is that thieves are also using specially designed range extenders for breaking into cars with keyless entry. They walk up close to the house with the extender which picks up any faint key signal and then retransmits it with more power. This tricks the car into thinking the key is far closer to the vehicle when in fact it might be 20-30m away. Then they jump in and drive away. So make doubly sure your keyless key is stored in some sort of faraday pouch/box of some sort when your not using it. It doesn't have to be fancy, just provide a metal barrier around the entire key so the radio waves can't escape to be picked up, so a simple metal box like a key safe or jewellery box would work if you don't want a special pouch (as long as you close them!).

You are 100% correct in what you say Ed. We’ve seen a huge surge in thefts over the past year.
