I have to make a correction, the pen they sent me is actually their "Carbon T" model, not the "Magna" as I incorrectly stated. This pen, the Carbon T, is priced at 149 Euros, not the 249 that I mentioned in the video. Sorry about that. The Magna has a built-in piston (instead of a piston-converter), which I assume drive up the price. I saw the word "piston" on their website and jumped to the wrong conclusion. Thank you to the few people who corrected me on this!
Please test the MAGNA as well, it would be awesome to hear your review! Feels that it is very easy to fidget with that piston (which is not protected) and press it making a huge mess everywhere
The "shell" is actually the case the flower of a magnolia tree is held in before it blooms. I grew up with a magnolia tree in my backyard and I loved feeling how fuzzy the flower cases were.
That- is absolutely amazing. I have never seen that before in my life. It's weird to think of how many times we see images and words in popular culture and art over the span of decades and yet still have never seen the thing in person. I am wishing you all a pink plumeria tree, which has no fur about it but smells heavenly. Or maybe I just walked by a magnolia tree numerous times and ignored it. That's possible too.
I’m a vegan so this spoke to me! Instead of letting my battery be recycled into a land fill I just chucked it into the ocean. Thanks for helping me be better to the earth 🌱🌱🌱
What you said about the price is interesting. I have expensive pens but I barely use them. I opened the box, draw or write a thing or two, and switch back to my old one. Is it because I'm afraid to break them? Not sure. It's more a "feel at ease" thing. Somehow a slightly used, damaged pen, is more appealing to me that a brand new one. Same thing goes with paper and books. I need some kind of dirt to feel free to create
Hi, I agree with you they start to be pricy instruments, but the fountain pen Peter reviewed is the Carbon-T which goes out at 149 Euros. These pens are completely handcrafted in Italy. To keep the price as low as possible we are trying to distribute them by ourselves, but still, we will try to make some more affordable collection working on simplifying the production method. Best
Not a unique sentiment at all. It's often codified in east asian cultures, where for example in Japan a traditional belief holds that tools and weapons have spirits living inside of them that respond to the care their owner puts into them (and can become vengeful or stubborn if neglected or mistreated), or in China calligraphers and painters would have a personal set of brushes they would get as apprentices and keep for their entire career, with the brushes taking on part of the character of the calligrapher or artist himself. Familiarity can definitely be more important than sheer quality.
It's quite a common thing (unfortunately) among _many_ people, and with many _things_ (not just art supplies). I heard one person (a RUclipsr) explain it as being the "too good to use" sort of mentality that was often taught to us by our parents (or older generations, in general). For eg. the same sort of mentality that the "best" china was never to be used, should instead always be stored on display in the hutch, and only used (if ever) on very, _very_ special occasions. That explanation made absolute sense to me, as that's very much how my family was (and still is). That person had explained that as part of the "argument" in favour of actually _using_ all our supplies, rather than hoarding them for a special day or occasion... and that we need to break ourselves free of that silly, senseless cycle of not using the nice things that we buy for ourselves. And as I'd heard _another_ RUclipsr once state: "We bought those supplies to use and _enjoy_ them... not to have them sold, still brand new, for 10 cents on the dollar in an estate sale after we die!" So true... amen to that, I say!!
Thank you for doing your part! I also like to recycle by throwing my old lead-acid car batteries into the local lake. That as well as the CPF bulbs that stop working. The lead and the mercury from the bulbs helps detox the water! All the fish people eat out of this lake, and also all the 1000s of people who get drinking water from the lake should thank me. But they don’t know the favor I’m doing for them! When my kids swim in the water for a while they always come out with a fiery red rash all over. It’s awesome to see the detox happening right in front of you!
I loved this review. Both writing implements are very appealing to me. My ears ring every single moment that I'm awake. I'm hoping that one day I meet a witch or warlock who can reverse the spell. I look forward to your posts. Thank you for all that you do to share your amazing talents.

Magnolias are cool. They evolved millions of years ago. They were around when dinosaurs were. They're older than bees so don't have nectar to attract them. Those nasty can collar things shouldn't exist at all. Lots of countries have banned them. Love the lines that pen puts down. Another great drawing. Couldn't help but think you were drawing something at least partially made of carbon fibre. Like some kind of cyborg torso smashed open to reveal the ribcage and synthetic innards. :D
I never understand what are you drawing, but at the same time I don’t feel te necessity to understand it, it’s just relaxing to watch it and to watch the process. I love your videos are really relaxing and interesting. Great work!!
I am not sure why I enjoy your videos Peter, yet here I am coming back for another installment of your wackiness and oh so interesting drawings! Please take care of yourself, be safe and we will be on the lookout for your next video!
Thank's a lot Peter. I like so much your spontaneous way of presenting things and your drawing style it's soo cool. Just one thing, the fountain pen model is the Carbon-T which is out at 149 Euros and mount a n.5 steel nib. Price is not cheap, but, beside the material, there is a lot of manual work and Italian labor is very costly. I am glad you could appreciate that... and don't worry, they are made to last!
I've watched many of your videos with you drawing. I have to say the crisp detail stood out in the one more than most. Just stunning. Pen related? I don't know. Your drawings are so filled with details, but sometimes they just blend in and you kind of miss them. This was beautiful. Prepegnant is when your husband has a couple of beers and says "what do you want to do tonight?". Lol
That's a beautiful pen! My senior project was focused on potential methods of recycling carbon fiber reinforced polymers so hopefully the cost of CF products will come down in the future.
interesting....does it involve a solvent that dissolves only the binding polymers without damaging/dissolving the carbon fiber tubules? I think the entire process could be helped/improved upon by pre-treating the carbon fibers with a protective coating that binds to the tubules prior to resin impregnation into it's final cast form. That way, when you apply the unbinding solvent, only the polymers are affected and not the carbon fibers themselves, thus allowing for the salvaging of the fibers to be recast into newer forms.
@@keevansixx4185 There were a few different approaches to this in my research. One was using a solvent (nitric acid iirc) to dissolve the epoxy without damaging the fibers. Microwave radiation pyrolysis was another promising method to break down the resin and leave the carbon intact. There are also more crude methods of shredding cured CFRPs which could be repurposed for fire resistant insulation or other things that don't require the strength of the aligned fibers but could benefit from the weight and thermal properties.
@@NPTurtles I'm sure you came across the term "chop toe" in your research, basically like particle wood board but made of carbon flakes instead. Carbon parts can still be quite strong even without precise fiber alignment simply due to the epoxy holding it together. Seems pretty viable to recycle it for such a use since there's no need to care about fiber continuity for chop toe layups. Take a carbon car hood mod for example, basically no loads on it, needs to be light, shred up some crashed bike frames and remold, bam case closed.
Oh Peter...a new favourite video! I have so many Peter Draws favouritest videos nowadays, I need to go back and watch them all again to determine which is really, truly, honestly my most favourite. Apart from this one, obviously...
really digging all these new intros! if you want to see how some pens are made i highly suggest Figboots video with Carolina pen co! He makes some incredible pens.
Peter your style in this video is so dope, dude. The hair/head band and the shirt and glasses... man it's cool!! Also, thanks for that subtle message about the plastic.
Well, other things sound numb on the ringing ear; while the other one is not effected, most of the time its my left ear ringing, do you have an ear it occures more often to?
That's tinnitus. Trauma to the ears might make your ears ring sometimes or constantly. Happens when they've been damaged by exposure to loud noises. High blood pressure or stress makes tinnitus act up.
You got me to pick up drawing again. I've bought a lot of pens on your recommendation 😂 Love you Peter! Hope you're staying safe. Also I think it would be a neat idea for you to do a battle Royale of tech pens! I know you love your Rotrings, so try a Kohinoor Rapidograph, or the Staedtler Marsmatic 700, etc. Just an idea!
Oh my, my my Peter! I so loved this video in so many ways. Being 1\2 Sicilian it was nice to see you get a very lush-posh pen and pencil from Italy. The people do have class 😎 The beautiful black pen and pencil you used to create your most epic drawing was so satisfying to watch. When you said you would shade with the pencil I was skeptical. (I own all those leads, the sharpener, and a draftsman version lead holder). But you made your drawing have such a metallic look somehow? I found myself wanting to jump into your drawing and hold onto the bar like sections and swing back and forth all the while gazing at the detail below my feet you had doodled so inticately. Such a nice review of the pen and pencil. But I am like you. Here, I can only muse imagine what it felt like using them as my pocketbook would never purchase them. Thanks for a great 30 minutes Peter! God bless and you stick in there - stay healthy my friend. ❤
The Carbon T pen is indeed minimalist. Good nibs on the Venustas too. The founder is an archetect/instructor named Rossi. A good guy and he has a vision of writing instruments that's refreshing. Nice video Peter.
Wow, that's a lovely pen, with that minimalist design. I can almost feel its texture. I'm studying industrial design, so I really like seeing these. I hope some day I get to work with these kind of materials and high end products
I LOVE your long silly videos Peter, never stop making them, you're my escape and my comedy relief, as well as my neuron firing creative happiness channel 😁🌟✌👍
Hi, they aren't so light, you can feel the weight of the stainless steel or lead free brass components. We are architects and we designed this instruments for ourselves because we need to draw and sketch. They are light weight, but very well balanced. The fountain pen is 13 gr which is an average weight and it does not feel as light as a plastic pen. We do not seek for unbearableness, we just try to produce the best design we can at the most affordable price. Best
@@venvstasitaly9452 Ahum, to quote Ringo Starr, you realize I was not thát serious, ...? But sir because you are, carbon fiber is a gimmick material for a fountain pen, no way you will convince me that it enhances the functionality of the pen, and it certainly does not help to "balance" it. An object as small as a fountainpen does not significantly improve by the use of such a ridiculous strong and light material. It just drives up the prize making it a lot less affordable ( a term you brought into this) than strictly necessary. And don't get me wrong, nothing against fancy materials, for fancy expensive pens (I myself covet a tasty brass pen, for no other reason than, yum, cool looking hefty brass!). And carbon fiber certainly is a very cool material, and the pen looks great. As for quality, I take your word for it. Would I shell out the, what is it, 149 euros for it?. Nope, because, you know, it is not brass. And that is just a matter of taste. What was what I basically meant by my previous statement that seemed to have ticked you slightly off...
@@edzejandehaan9265 Heheh... Dear Ezen, if we like to talk trough singer quotes, I could tell you to listen to a great funky track form the Rose Royce calle "Put your money where your mouth is"... Not cause I want to be arrogant with you, but just to say that I am used to experience things, than talk... not the other way around, otherwise "you are saying nothing", as the song state. For instance, I am an architect, and, to be able to understand the work in site, I build up a house with my very hands, every morning, from 6 am to 4 pm for 2 years. After this experience I can step in a building site and understand way more than a colleague of mine that never experienced to actually build a dwelling. Therefore is hard to me to listen to people that speak for assumption. Again, you are free to purchase it, try it and send it back with full refund within 3 weeks time. After that, I will be pleased to listen to your constructive critics coming for your own experience on it. Best regards, Filippo
@@venvstasitaly9452 Hahaha, incredible, you are too generous my friend! You tell me I am free to purchase your pen? So you actually want me to put MY money where YOUR mouth is 🤪 You got your cheap advertising by having a popular youtuber review your pen, be happy with that. You did obviously not understand the reference in my first post ( the unbearable lightness of being, look it up) It was just an attempt to a bit of light humour. But your reaction, and the attitude to potential customers ( really, you think I'd do business with you now?) is rather off putting to say the least.
I was having a bad day and your video came on Peter. I was just so happy to see you get a new pen. You were so excited and I was kind of excited for you. I am glad you like the pens it’s nice to see somebody get a cool treat Unexpectedly. Love your videos I love your work thank you for sharing
Nomenclature - Cap - Section (where you grip the pen, shortened from "grip section") - barrel (part that covers the converter/cartridge/holds the piston or sac) and sometimes a blind cap below that, a part that unscrews separately below the barrel, often to give access to a piston or plunger. The top of the cap, often where a little piece of ornament is, is called the finial. The nib sits atop the feed, which feeds ink. I have one of the very early carbon T models, and while the fit and finish is a lot rougher, it is still very good. I love Lucio's designs because they remind me of a pen that someone in a sci fi universe would use, like an actual prop in a film, instead of just some derpy chewbacca themed $300 cross that has hair textured into the body. I didn't really know much about the Designer 8, I didn't know it was an actual clutch mechanism 2mm lead holder that also fit a staedler rotary sharpener! Fuckin' ordering one right now.
Thanks a lot! First time I saw Lucio's brass model I thought it could come out from the set of Gattaca... and watch out grinding cause, from some images Peter posted on insta, it seams he scratched the pencil carbon body as well... Best regards
I love this draw-wing, and I love this pen and this pencil. Now I have a something else to pine and yearn and hanker for. In my family, we call expensive things one pines, yearns and hankers for "Pink Hats With Feathers", which means these writing/draw-wing instruments with the cool V within a V are pink hats with feathers. I will explain the origin of the phrase. My grandmother had her eldest son, my eldest Uncle, look after her finances after grandfather passed on. And she had an allowance, but every now and then she got something just because she wanted it so badly. In this particular case, she bought a pink hat with feathers. Her son did not understand it and complained about her purchase. "You didn't need this!" To which grandmother said, "But sometimes a lady needs a pink hat with feathers." All the men shook their head, not understanding. All the women nodded in perfect understanding. Someday...someday, if not these writing instruments, something perfect like them. Part of pink hats with feathers is the enjoyment of pining, yearning, and hankering for them for awhile.
I use to love using that type of pencil back before I had nerve damage in my hand, only mine were from the early 50's and US made. They were originally my grandfathers and were referred to as engineers pencils (mostly because it was mostly engineers who used them). I still have them even if I can't use them, they are the only memento I have of my grandparents due to an aunt who decided I was leeching off my grandparents for five years (when they had asked me to take care of them) and cut me out of their will.
1:59 although a lot of those look like plastic they degrade rapidly in UV light. Put it outside for a few weeks and it might fall apart. Idea being if it does get stuck around something it should fall apart pretty quickly
yoooo the pencil shading on the drawing at the end looks awesome. I don't know if you do that a lot, this is the first time I've seen you do it, but it looks fantastic.
Thanks a lot! we love carbon fiber too... imagine we even went to Varano the Melegari where Dallara factory is, we saw some of the most advanced labs for carbon fiber molding... Most of racing cars shells and components are shaped around that area. The fiber we use here is actually linear, as Peter point out. The fibers runs only in one direction. This is mainly an aesthetic choice cause the cross fiber is quite known and very related to racing... We wanted something more elegant an less sporty... Now we might work with a different cross fiber, very new... fingers crossed. Btw this fountain pen is called Carbon T and it goes for 149 euros. Best
Anyone else catch themselves sitting on the edge of your seat with excitement as Peter‘ s excitement builds? Can you imagine seeing Peter as an 8 year old siting on his knees in front of the Christmas tree? If he posted an old video of that I’d be watching! The excitement was poured into this video as well. Good to see that your disappointment from your last video has subsided! Me happy again.
I also get that sensation in my ear, I assumed it was just another facet of my tinnitus. It usually fades away after a few seconds. Also, I also would think the feel of vine charcoal would be cringy. One of the reasons I don't use charcoal or pastel even though I can get a good result is because I don't like the way the powder residue feels on my hands. It's dry and weird.
With a pensive gaze? Overwhelmed yet strangely calm? Entrepantly romantic in a stunned yet contented sort of way? Oh wow you're right.... one could most certainly write a novella on how he looks at his pen. And it would be a saga. A saga of love and yet frustrated yearning of potential yet to be fulfilled thus leading to a melancholic angst that is periodically overshadowed by pure evanescent bliss. I'm seeing noir.......
I love lead holders but i personally use a little sandpaper pointer rather than a mechanical rotary one. I love being able to get those sharp peaky points to my lead that allows for such fine details
Whenever I find one of those six way turtle collars, I cut apart every loop so that if ever it winds up in a landfill or the ocean, it won't strangle any birds, animals or fish.
It isn't the first video I watch on this channel, but this time I couldn't stop looking into Peter's eyes. I've never seen such a crystal clear color. They shine and seem translucent, but very deep at the same time. Like a lake which waters are so clear that you can see what's under, but still cannot see the bottom because of its depth. And here I go, writing a creep comment xd Sorry.

The people do have class 😎
The beautiful black pen and pencil you used to create your most epic drawing was so satisfying to watch.
Hanging in here, in my room, living room, in the front part of my house, in OV, in Nor Cal! Great greatness on the drawing
Definitely one of my favorite drawings of yours as of late.
You are a great inspiration dude. Keep it flowing! 😊
That drawing is amazing! Most definitely one of my favourites!
this drawing is absolutely amazing! watching you fill in the bottom section put me at peace :)
Peter that drawing is so good, pen and ink is my favorite style of art
Just so you know you really light up my day.
Im watching while laying on the floor with my puppy and the fan in the window blowing in fresh air and its relaxing
Great writing instruments and video review. I do really like both.
Thanks a lot! Cheers
I love all of the silliness at the beginning of the videos
Loving all the very silly yet vital bits at the beginning. Please keep up this video tradition.
The Magnolia tree seed pod looks like the back of your chair, there Peter.
Thanks for the most excellent videos and delightful drawings!
I don't think such extreme lack of weight would be attractive for me, it might get blown away.
"The unbearable lightness of my fountainpen"
So you actually want me to put MY money where YOUR mouth is 🤪
You got your cheap advertising by having a popular youtuber review your pen, be happy with that.
Thought you were gonna say today's pen is brought to you by the letter "V" 😄
I just had flashbacks of Sesame Street.😆😆😆😆😆
@@x-changex-outx-oner8224 😂
Or is that U?
WOOWWW!!! That drawing is EPIC!!
I got the pencil a few weeks ago and holy. Crap. It's outstanding. Easily my favorite pencil on earth now.
Peter should keep this intro as intro to every video. It's quick and on-point.
That intro was so cool man, love it peter keep doing what you’re doing
The word for that slanted cut is a beveled or chamfered cut.
That yellow steel lead holder is my favorite. By far the heaviest I have but feels so good
Another Peter Draws video?
Well aren't we spoiled. ❤️
I love everything u do but where’s the Minecraft 🥺
I search every couple of days for a new vid of Peter playing Minecraft.... So sad!
I love it!! Love Carbon fiber!! The feel of it is very satisfying. Just wish it was a lot cheaper. LOL
Best
Wow! I would love to test one out myself, but I'm poor, so, I will dream.
I like the boat painting you have in the background
your thought process is endearing
Is " Cool things I found on the ground" a new format now ?
Anyone wanna comment on how good the artwork came out at the end tho?
I really like the look of this pen, is just elegant, and doesn't seem anoying in the hand, i dont like when pen have to many curves
Thanks Peter...was needing a drawing video,
1:50 ILL TAKE YOUR ENTIRE STOCK!!
This is great. Just what I needed on a gloomy Monday.
Peter you are and have always been: The Man
Anyone else catch themselves sitting on the edge of your seat with excitement as Peter‘ s excitement builds?
Prepreging means pre-impregnating with resin (usualy epoxy) the fibers. It is just a shortend version of the word.
You're new intro looking real crisp
Ah, perfect. A six turtle collar, I’ve been looking for one of those, to walk my six turtles that very much exist.
I hope that one day, somebody looks at me like Peter looks at this pen.
Peter is so wonderful and endearing. Ugh love u so much.
Whenever I find one of those six way turtle collars, I cut apart every loop so that if ever it winds up in a landfill or the ocean, it won't strangle any birds, animals or fish.
Very thoughtful and smart!
Sarah Stephanie Landry you’re the one that has been cutting up my turtle collars!!!!
Same here, I was taught to do that a long time ago!
nice ink flow, extra nice fountain pen, I agree that the cap twists in a spiral way which is very neat. Thumbs up, already subbed.
That sharpner is lit man!
even the sponsored section was entertaining. i love this channel
Can't believe you review pens and didn't know what the section was. That's okay, the video is entertaining enough to make up for it. Keep 'em coming!
That was the best integration of an ad I've ever seen.
That is the COOLEST drawing I've ever seen!! Do you sell these Peter?
That's one coolly moderne pen. Thanks for showing it to us.
Glad you like it!
The pencil is beautiful!
Thanks!
I adore this drawing, I would love a high quality print of this~
the bandanas are back!! :D
Lunch is always next. Or bed. For me, it's bed. Good night, Peter. Good night, Peter's Other Friends.
