Peter Draws, one of the fine prospects of this earth. His innate desire to “draw”, captivates us all, and he never ceases to share himself and what he represents as a human being. Peter after spilling ink everywhere: "Should I have filled it from the nib end? Probably..." The note that came in the box: "Unscrew the nib to fill" 😅
To be fair, it didn't actually say that on the side he looked at first. I'm guessing there was another side but I'm 12 mins in. Update: Nope, there wasn't. It didn't say that, it gave directions for how to unscrew it. As an autistic guy, I'd need that to be more obvious tbh. I need things to be literal. Nobody else is wrong for needing that either.
@@smellslikelayne I need very short and on point instructions because if they're too detailed I don't read them ^^ So they need to get this one point across before I pour ink into the first opening I see. And you can be sure that I would have made the same mess Peter did here but without that clean and tidy surface below it.
@@mockingjay478 It does say that, and in fact, Peter first unscrews the correct section. He then screws it back, unscrews the top and starts trying to fill it. Peter.. Peter Peter Peter Peter Peter... If what you want to draw are blobs embrace the blob. Why I subscribe to you is because of the ambiguous nature of what you do. In fact it broke me of my own artist block. Not that I draw like you... But I have adopted a few of the techniques I see you do. And you did turn me on to pen and ink. Shower thoughts :o Hang in there Peter! It's healthy to get stuff out onto paper and self reflect. Particularly if you come up with sincere observations and plans. Journaling is good for everything except traumatic, devastating physical injury (in which case it makes things much worse).
Dude you're amazing. Just draw (or do!) whatever you want to do. I'm here to watch you, not because of some format or style. Your personality, voice, and unique spin on life is what keeps me watching you and all the antics you get into! In fact, one of my favorite videos of yours to this day is the ticker tape wordle story about the Loiterous Boy. So do you, man. Just do you.
There was something extra special about this video. Usually I watch these videos to unwind before I go to sleep but this one kept me entranced and made me incredibly happy. I think this is one of my favorite drawings I've seen you do too. The more you added to it so it constantly changed subject in my mind - from galactic boat, to solemn sea monster, to apocalyptic city scape - and talked about how you're so inspired by lines really resonated with me? The little cover at the end really tied it all together too. This video was particularly inspiring for me. Made me want to get out of bed and create. To live. Thank you for everything you do.
Hello, thank you for this, this is comforting, your content makes me so happy i can't wait for you to upload whether it's a pen review or a podcast I enjoy every moment. You are truly an interesting human being and I admire that, just wanted you to know that now bye sorry I'm terribly awkward 😂
Peter has a nice voice and calmness to his videos. Nice for relaxation. Even for someone like me who wouldnt care about pens normally. But tears dropped when i read the pages. And the video is structured in a none structured way. It feels so real.
Hello Peter! Hope you’re having a good Wednesday! Thanks for the new video to keep me distracted from everything going on right now! You’re content is like a breath of fresh air and very much appreciated at the moment!
Your chord changes have become fluid and natural. I loved watching this video and the art that you made but especially loved your tribute to John Prine. Thank you Peter.
I feel like I miss the thought a lot "to do good because it's worth it". Or that anything I want to Do is acually worth it, by that means. I wrote that note down in my own Notebook, so thank you Peter. And be loving with yourself :)
you know Peter never ceases to amaze me with how he just starts to draw with ink of course and when hes finished it becomes the greatest piece of art that i personally have seen without sketching. He really is an astonishing man
Peter, i would just like to say that since I've started watching you ive had someone to relate to and ive been more active and since have considerably decreased my drug intake (thc, nicotine, caffiene, nothing physically condemning) and since have been happier and more motivated, ive cleaned, done my laundry, ive actually had a will to live and man i cant say enough thank you for helping an artist out and again helping that artists continuum, continue. Thank you, again, really. So much my man, keep it up friend :)
You're my favourite. My mom recently shared her fountain pen collection with me and I've been writing so much trying to document my actions and feelings through the most alone time of my life so far. Thank you for the video and song :) maybe one day she'll let me use her glass pen 🤞
I have some hurdles that prevent me from the kind of stream of consciousness drawing you most often do here, so whenever I watch you do you thing it's like magic. Relaxing, meditative, wholesome magic. I love your drawings!
I have a tattoo of Hokusais wave! His style does remind me of it a lot. Its so just like. Satisfying? To look at. Idk it looks somehow natural and organic
Idk, when I watch you, I feel something unique, I feel like you're so human, like if I'm something or someone from another universe, or from a really future nation, just watching this, and meeting the core of humans, like knowing the species in a deeper understanding
And i find the flow of your drawling mesmerizing. If you want to try to break that process try forcing more structure into your work. Angular. Defined areas, with your free form filling the spaces. Just a thought. Hope it helps.
Ahaha I used to watch your videos all the time your voice is so relaxing it just now popped back in my recommendations. Keep doing what you’re doing!! Your channel is growing so much 🥺
I'm in love with this pen. As a (almost) geneticist, I would love to have it. For now, as a student, its too expensive for me to buy it. But someday I'll definitely buy it!!
I'm glad I stumbled here, this was so calm and incredibly accepting. I felt like I didn't need to think with this, and I know it's primarily a pen review, but what's behind the title was very beautiful. I think, keep on with your blobs for however long you like. Embrace that which is flowing, but I think you already know how to do that quite well. I'll leave this here but, I think I'll be back for more. Thank you.
With quarantine being so lonely, I look forward to listening to you so much I'm finding myself saving the videos lol. You should do a podcast -if you feel like it- and talk about whats changing where you are and school, listening to those is so relaxing!
I absolutely love your current art style and it's influenced my doodling a lot in a good way I think! Just some extra encouragement that you are awesome and inspiring regardless of your style, I just happen to love how it currently is haha :)
If you have trouble washing away ink stains on your skin, consider using "Lava" soap or something similar. It is a bar soap with pumice grains in it, so you can exfoliate the stained layers off after a couple lathers and rinses. If the stains are super stubborn, simply rub the bar directly on like gentle sandpaper. I have fair skin and it doesn't seem to bother me, but I'd recommend testing it cautiously before getting more and avoiding it for regular use unless you need to wash stains from your hands frequently. Obviously not a bath bar.
What I like in the blobs, Is the organic natural feel to them. But they also feel as through theyre a futuristic sort of thing. Kinda like 60s/70s interior design. Futuristic yet retro. I also love how they can be interpreted differently no matter who. I like this blob because the circles in a line look like little windows for little blob creatures to live in. And I really just love your style is what I’m tryna say
You’re amazing at your craft, really someone I aspire to be, not just your talent but idk, seems like you know yourself , comfortable in your own skin Peter, keep on making these great vids bro 👊🏼 you’re the man
Peter, you're really good at drawing blobs. you're also really good at drawing buildings... you should draw more buildings, you know, if you want to and all... i love buildings.
yes, from the front!!, but I get why you did it, as some brands have an "air regulator" at the other end, like the vent valve on petrol tanks for outboard motors, but in this case to stop the "siphon" effect so one can carry it in ones pocket without spillage!; but for most brands this access point is for cleaning the barrel (ink chamber) before a colour change, so ALL of the old ink is removed. Think from memmory the TWISBI brand disasembles this way for this purpose too.
Awesomely made video Peter! You drawing one of your masterpieces (imho) and finishing off your video with John Prine's (RIP) "Long Monday". I'll be watching this way more than just once! Thank you for being in our lives and enrichening them! 😊❤👍🏻
I read what you had on the notepad, it really is motivating and well worded. thanks for being the face of something I love to watch. Hope to meet you oneday!
Wish I could love your videos Your personality is amazing and the guitar and singing at the end was beautiful What a good pick me up for the bleak world
this felt very Marine to me but also very spacey. at first I saw a whale in it. and I imagined something that is a little like a whale. but alien and immense way out of reach in space. a living ship perhaps that swims across planets
Peter it’s a nice pen, draws well but your pockets need to be very deep..I love watching your doodles no matter how they turn out ,it’s so relaxing watching your pen fly across the paper,as well as fascinating as to what happens too ..Stay safe love 😀
I like just about everything about this Pen! The price is out of my range at $150.00+ I just can not justify the expense. It is very cool and I like that they gave you one to show us!
I suspect they use a water soluble filament to print the helix. They then cast the pen body around the helix, and then set the pens in a ultrasonic bath so that the soluble polymer can disolve and leave the void.
Hey Peter! We use those write in the rain notebooks ALL the time in the army when we’re out in the field. They work really well for me and i am surprised it worked that well 1 month in a shower!!!
I just want to say I really enjoy your content and you are such an amazing creator. Also your voice is very soothing to listen to, so that's a plus for my anxiety. :)
hey peter, so there are two common types of 3d printers. theres FDM and SLA. the difference is how and with what materials they print. most people are familiar with FDM printers, which extrude small layers of platic over and over again while SLA printers use laser or UV light to harden resin. so while i havent done much research into the pen based off the video the helix appers to be made by a FDM printer based of the visible layers and the rest of the body could have in theory been made by a SLA printer although casting it would better explain the bubbles. hope this helps killer video by the way.
This is the first video by Peter that I've seen, and I gotta say, the blob-drawing took me completely by surprise. It's really interesting, stream-of-consciousness like.
Some people brag about having met or wanting to meet some pro sports hall of famer, a Hollywood star or music icon of the time. If I could meet Peter and talk with him for a few minutes, it would create a high water mark for me that couldn't be topped
That drawing looks like a piece of airplane wreckage that was laying in a jungle for years, and then was found by explorers. Also, the sandpaper you're thinking of is called "micromesh". Hello, thank you for this, this is comforting, your content makes me so happy i can't wait for you to upload whether it's a pen review or a podcast I enjoy every moment. You are truly an interesting human being and I admire that, just wanted you to know that now bye sorry I'm terribly awkward 😂
Thank you
Peter! Thanks for uploading so much lately. Your videos have been helping.
I love how everyone says hi to peter
Peter has a nice voice and calmness to his videos. Nice for relaxation. Even for someone like me who wouldnt care about pens normally. But tears dropped when i read the pages. And the video is structured in a none structured way. It feels so real.
I, too, keep my sketch pad on my shower shelf. You never know when inspiration will strike!
Your ability to stay calm during ink disaster is serious mastery!!!
He really is an astonishing man
I love that pen design! Super creative use of 3D printing, resin casting, and machining.
I love your videos, peter ! they are so calming and your quirkiness is entertaining. thank you for helping us get thru quarantine
hey peter, love your videos! hope you're keeping well during these bizarre times!
The drawing reminds me of a melting plane. Very good shapes!
I have some hurdles that prevent me from the kind of stream of consciousness drawing you most often do here, so whenever I watch you do you thing it's like magic.
Relaxing, meditative, wholesome magic.
I love your drawings!
Very cool design for the pen, very eye catching and very unique. To the students that designed this - Great Job!!!
Your style is reminiscent of "The great wave off Kawagawa" by Hokusai. Looks awsome and natural.
Alex Cairoli - You been watching Dave Bull?
I have a tattoo of Hokusais wave! His style does remind me of it a lot. Its so just like. Satisfying? To look at. Idk it looks somehow natural and organic
@@adamwest8711 Yes I watch him regularly as im into Lino cutting at the moment.
Your channel is growing so much 🥺
8 years? I've been watching you that long already? Always fascinated. Thanks Peter.
I dont know what it is that makes these videos so compelling but you're killing it man
I think Peter should start reading us books again. Your voice is incredibly soothing and relaxing, and we all need that in the midst of covid
I'm in love with this pen. As a (almost) geneticist, I would love to have it. For now, as a student, its too expensive for me to buy it. But someday I'll definitely buy it!!
Priscila Galdino yeah it is very unique. The concept is interesting and looks so sleek.
your John Prine memorial was beautiful, thank you for sharing it with us
Alos, another great pen review video
Peter I am so glad you are doing pen reviews and drawing your awesome drawings. Keep up the good work
I'm glad I stumbled here, this was so calm and incredibly accepting.
Just some extra encouragement that you are awesome and inspiring regardless of your style, I just happen to love how it currently is haha :)
you inspire me to be better, Peter. not just in drawwing, but also as a person. you seem so nice
The world needs more people like you!
I love to see your videos come up especially during this quarantine
Fill it from the nib end to avoid ink spilling. Love your art, reviews and persona! Been following for years
I guess that's why I like you, Peter. You bring me calmness that I so desperately need.
Hello Peter! Your videos are always a rainbow in the day! :)
Thanx for making them for us!
Peter draws and sings also. what a unique talent.
yes, from the front!!, but I get why you did it, as some brands have an "air regulator" at the other end, like the vent valve on petrol tanks for outboard motors, but in this case to stop the "siphon" effect so one can carry it in ones pocket without spillage!; but for most brands this access point is for cleaning the barrel (ink chamber) before a colour change, so ALL of the old ink is removed. Think from memmory the TWISBI brand disasembles this way for this purpose too.
Your voice is like music, and I know music
Shitty music for angsty coffee drinkers..
@@neoncircus2365 Sure he's rolling in his grave

Ok guys calm down a little
11:13 It looks like your ring is cursed
Haha, yeah, like its rotting my hand
Rob, you watch drawing videos too? You sure are an interesting human being. Love your videos btw.
It’s a ring of power, obviously.
This is like a whole Show Peter is doing :)
Wish I could love your videos
Your personality is amazing and the guitar and singing at the end was beautiful
What a good pick me up for the bleak world
never stop being yourself peter. Love it
this felt very Marine to me but also very spacey. at first I saw a whale in it. and I imagined something that is a little like a whale. but alien and immense way out of reach in space. a living ship perhaps that swims across planets
You may not what Peter is drawing but man is it captivating.
hello, peter! I hope you're doing well and doing okay during this quarantine!
It's amazing how you learned so much with the guitar, I loved the song, thank you
Peter it’s a nice pen, draws well but your pockets need to be very deep..I love watching your doodles no matter how they turn out ,it’s so relaxing watching your pen fly across the paper,as well as fascinating as to what happens too ..Stay safe love 😀
Loved that surprise at the end (:
I like just about everything about this Pen! The price is out of my range at $150.00+ I just can not justify the expense. It is very cool and I like that they gave you one to show us!
Yea, that price for what you’re getting is nuts. You’re in the realm of gold nibbed pens and nice used high ends at that price point.
Thank you so much for sharing. I have all your books and you have inspired me to start uploading videos of my art. Good to see youre doing well buddy!
I suspect they use a water soluble filament to print the helix. They then cast the pen body around the helix, and then set the pens in a ultrasonic bath so that the soluble polymer can disolve and leave the void.
I Just finished The Architecture of Happiness today as well. Amazing book! Changes the way I’ll look at architecture from here on out .
Peter, I'm loving these songs! I hope you keep doing them
Hey Peter! We use those write in the rain notebooks ALL the time in the army when we’re out in the field. They work really well for me and i am surprised it worked that well 1 month in a shower!!!
great video as always Peter
I really enjoy your videos man. You deserve your own show👍🏼
I’m using the noodler heart of darkness ink just now and it’s the best and deepest black I’ve used !!!
Keep seeing the fuselage of a plane that flew too close to the Sun. Looks dope. Regardless of the subject, you keep pushing out awesome art. 🤙🏻
This is the first video by Peter that I've seen, and I gotta say, the blob-drawing took me completely by surprise. It's really interesting, stream-of-consciousness like.
Peter is like the Bob Ross of pens
Words that sound great with Peter's voice:
1)All of them
Some people brag about having met or wanting to meet some pro sports hall of famer, a Hollywood star or music icon of the time. If I could meet Peter and talk with him for a few minutes, it would create a high water mark for me that couldn't be topped
remember to wash your hands like peter and stay safe everyone
That drawing looks like a piece of airplane wreckage that was laying in a jungle for years, and then was found by explorers.
Also, the sandpaper you're thinking of is called "micromesh". People use it to smooth fountain pen nibs if they're scratchy. I bought some 12,000 grit for that, but I never used it.
