Two thing about p3 Volvo mirrors. You can fold and retract your mirrors by pressing left and right mirror button on drivers door together. Another tip is when parallel parking press the appropriate mirrors button while on reverse gear, and that mirror will adjust so you can see the cerb and park nice and safely. When you change gear selector to N P or D the mirror will return to previous settings
Thank you for the tip! I didn't know that. My mirrors were not retracting so I was prepared to take the assembly apart. I pushed the L/R buttons before I did and they snapped back and started working again. You saved me a lot of time and headache with this simple tip! No idea why just locking the doors would not do the same thing but whatever... It worked for me.
Thank u so much. Had the exact same problem with my Volvo V50 2010. Fixed my problem. Had problems with my right side mirror. Gave it a good cleaning and some lubricant. Works like its brand New. Decided to take the left side too. Now its more quiet. Definitely worth it, and very eazy once you know how to do it. Thank u very much.

Had exactly the same thought - no need to remove the mirror glass, just use an interior trim removal tool to take the cover off. Thanks for confirming.

On my s80 i can take / reject phone calls from the steering wheel buttons.From the car menu you can select if you want music to be dimmed while you are getting a phone call.
Also i hold the + button on the cruise control the car accelerates exactly like if i was pressing the accelerator pedal instead.
My side mirror behaved crazy like yours does,but my advice,just take the glass and cover off and try spraying a little bit of WD 40 inside the gray motor and around the moving parts where you can see signs of friction.Than budge it a bit by closing and opening them .
It shoud do the trick.

I instructed my wife into using it frequently!
Thus it can be a little tricky after driving around in our xc90 with manual release hand brake button and foot pedal.
I sometimes forget i have epb and my left leg goes straight to the floor :))),were there is no pedal.
Mate, thanks for the video! I had an issue in one of the mirror of the S60 I own. The orange connector was 1 mm out, enough for avoiding the mirror to fully open (but it fully closes without problem!). Just inserting the orange connector fully the mirror opens and closes like a charm. Thanks again!!!

Try Balistol Gun Oil .... I found it much better in corrosion protection and connector cleaning

I know you did the video a while ago, so im kind of praying for a response. When you locked the car and the mirrors when in, was it making a noise and the mirrors didn't move? This is happening to my v40 atm and I'm trying to figure out how to fix it e.g does in need a clean like yours or will I need new parts

does anyone have the advice what might be the issue if it doesn't fold and i can't adjust it vertically? horizontal adjustment works though. is it all the same motor that powers this?

Did this make the mirror more secure? Mine folds OK but rattles slightly as it's not tight. The glass is secure, it's the housing that rattles.

Wish someone can come with a fix for this.
This is my problem also, the mirror housing wobbles while driving as it has quite a lot of play on the fitting. I will take it apart and see if there is anything to tighten up. Anyone else solved this problem??

Mine is not working in full sun and when freezing, only working in normal temps and in the shade otherwise it needs a little hand of help, let’s see if this works in the weekend! I’m curious!
Update: couldn’t wait for the weekend so already did it, I think that just worked perfectly! Will have to wait for some boiling sun to make sure, but it was even dirtier than yours inside so at least it had a good clean! ;) Thanks for the tip!

Sometimes electric faults in car are just caused by grime and dirt, electric silicone cleanin spray fixed my central locking on drivers side.

Has anyone or your good self got a clue how to get the glass part of the mirror to get moving again . the driver side is working but I've never been able to adjust the passenger side so I adjust it by hand but the unit folds in when I lock the doors just the glass mirror won't move .
Corrosion wire loose. Have you opened it up. You won't know what's wrong with it until you investigate 👍🏿
