I used this video to change the indicator bulb in side mirror. I was told that I should first remove the mirror glass. After that I should be able to easily release the cover, same instruction was on Volvo's instruction page. Actually, I knew that removing the cover should be easy task, because the side mirror got accidentally hit by post and the cover flew away, ended up under the front tire and got broken. I got good glue, glued it and installed. I think I spent less than 5min to replace the bulb.
Shiny shiny lol WoW at that price I wouldn't be surprised if someone relieves you of those mirror covers pretty soon, especially as it's so easy and you've just shown us how to do it :)
Out of all the Volvo XC models, the XC70 is the best looking in my opinion. All the others, XC40, XC60, XC90 all look like they're on steroids, whereas the XC70 still looks like a normal car with sleek lines. I have a V50, but am looking to move up to a V70 or XC70 someday soon. I am just about to replace all the rubber bushings with Polyurethane bushings, which should improve the ride and handling of my V,50. Then next job will be to fit a roof spoiler. I am thinking of doing the mirror covers, but I might just spray my existing covers, and the roof spoiler silver, this will save me some money, and is a job I can do myself. Another good video as always. Those mirror covers can be quite tricky to remove, and refit.
I'm going to change my mirror covers soon, but i ordered the carbon fiber ones instead, I'm also going to change the orange indicator bulb to one that is painted silver so you don't see the orange through the glas.
How do I disassemble the folding mechanism of the mirror? One of the side mirrors of my 2009 XC70, does not fold (retract). By the way, I don't think the mirrors are out of sync with each other, rather the friction moving it has become too large. The motor works but appears not to have enough strength to fold and unfold the mirror without some simultaneous help from me pushing it by hand. The folding mechanism seems to have got stuck by dirt. I can even see what looks like a small part of a broken rubber gasket that sticks out between the upper and lower part of the mirror assembly. I like to open, clean and lubricate the mechanism with some for plastic proper kind of lubrication. How do I disassemble the folding mechanism?
Hard to notice given your body color, but cool nonetheless. Side note, I'm surprised you didn't replace the bulbs in the mirror with reflective ones like you have in the turn signals on your taillights.
It'll have more effect on a different color car ... still looks good.

Сейчас то мы знаем что просто так они не снимаются((. Зеркало надо снять и 3 защёлки отодвинуть. Лучше вставить 3 пластинки шириной 1.5 см. Лучше вдвоём делать,один пластины поднимает, другой крышку тянет.
No, the way you show is little bit too complicated. All you need to do is lift the front lower end of the casing and pull out, same way you put it back together. Must be very careful about pins inside of casing, easy to break.
@@volvosweden the car wraps are amazing. Look at how they made this car look like Black stainless steel: goo.gl/images/EU1FNK It last about 7 years and the paint will be like new when you remove the wrap.
I too, used this for replacing turn signal bulbs.

Sorry I don't know what's the problem. I know that my driver side mirror was replaced under warranty because it would not fold randomly.

anyone know how to pop open a mirror on a 2008 s60 need to change the bulb
push top of mirror to tilt back. look inside bottom under mirror. there is a clip you must push to remove light.
