If you pay close attention you'll realize this is actually Chopin's Revolutionary Etude in disguise. A piece that has a history about being about pure anger and resentment and a feeling of helplessness being stuck in a situation that was outside of your control. I feel Shimomura choose this piece on purpose.

Actually, it’s possible Yozora is part of the Reaper’s Game: “I went through some trials, and then I was told to save Sora.” As for not having the timer: “This isn’t what I actually look like.” This is just a theory though; it has some evidence but it could easily be false. I don’t actually think he’s in Shibuya when he’s in the car scene.
I recommend checking out what some other RUclipsrs from the Kingdom Hearts community did against this boss. There's no definitive guide yet per se, but I feel that you can get a feel for how to counter Yozora's moves by observing how they did it.
Use the Ariel link. You can almost cheese him. Still took me 8 elixers and a kupo coin on lv 99 proud and Ultima weapon but after 60 tries I beat him lmao

I don't want to go into too much detail because it's just speculation but after seeing Yozora in the new scenes it seems like it really is just Versus XIII, but he can only show us it through Kingdom Hearts. It probably isn't completely true, but I had a thought that Noctis from Versus XIII was a slumbering Prince in his World and that when he sleeps he has dreams similar to this. It would only be later that Noctis would find out he was visiting a different realm as somebody other than himself, it doesn't make sense for Yozora to say "But this isn't what I really look like." But it would have made sense for Noctis to say it because he looks completely different in thr otherworld than in his World, where did I get this speculation from? The trailers and the fact that Dissidia NT refers to his debut outfit as otherworldly.

It sucks because if you dodge the first one, he’ll continuously spam it as long as you stay on the ground. I got to a point where he tried to take it five times.
Xela Sefta actually you can dodge him stealing your keyblade. He will start running far away then when he closes in he will (in a half a second) teleports next to you to take your keyblade, just dodge the moment he’s makes a move while running, then immediately block because he’s pissed you dodged him (if he catches you when he strikes you immediately dodge his second attempt) then dodge his second attempt , then he will teleport next to you for the third attempt when he does dodge (Also sorry for my English if it’s bad)
Yozora may have finally dethroned Lingering Will as the best secret boss in series history. And that ending, with Yozora sleeping in the car like Noctis in the old, old versus XIII trailers, and a guy who's seemingly Luxord (!!!!) calling him "commander"....to be honest, I haven't felt this excited for the future of KH since the KH2FM secret ending.
She'll just achieve Super Saiyan God in KH4, Super Saiyan Blue in KH5, Ultra Instinct Sign in the game after that, and finally achieve Mastered Ultra Instinct in the game after that.

@@IzzuZiq I don't get the hate for the Kupo Coin tbh. I think most of the people who hate it don't know that the game only lets you have one at a time. You can't rely on it because the game doesn't let you buy more than one. It could be seen as just a second layer of once more and second chance. And, to be fair, Yozora doesn't punish you strictly for bringing the Kupo Coin. He punishes you for relying on items in general, seeing as his absortion attack can nab potions, ethers and elixirs too

Remember, this was back when KH3 was mocked for being too easy and the Kupo Coin added to it. The second the battle began, I automatically went under the impression that there is no way to win this fight. Died in almost 15 seconds after he stole the keyblade. Finally beat him 4 hours later.

Slobertooth 13 I’m at the Yazora fight on critical mode. Played through the fight once, died within a minute and was like “welp, I’m done for tonight”. Mind you I had Just finished beating Master Xehanort so I was not in the mood for another slog fest in the same day

I think that the insipartion for this was enigma, gravity & nobility. It is a showdown between 2 "kings" that are shrouded by mystery. Not to mention that Yozora's moveset is very free-flowing, fast and powerful. Plus he's using gravity a lot. He's quite literally waltzing through battlefield with how confident his moveset is.
Sora and Yozora are quite literally mirror images of each other. Sora means sky, Yozora means night sky, and when Sora passes into Yozora’s world, instead of the Final World being a bright and sunny day, it’s in the dead of night. Sora’s reality is fantastical and whimsical, with magic and Disney characters, and he fights with magic and a literal giant key; meanwhile Yozora’s reality is far more grounded, with real world architecture and a lack of magic, he fights with a technological crossbow and a laser blade, fighting with far more Sci Fi powers like lasers mechs, a black hole, virtual reality and drones. Sora has a childlike and innocent aura and a bubbly personality, yet hides a lot of inner turmoil behind his smile; meanwhile Yozora is cold, serious, and stoic, almost never showing any emotion, yet from this fight alone you can tell that he does have some sense of humor and respect. Which leads me to this conclusion: In the Kh4 trailer, we see someone who looks almost exactly like Kairi, but they’re not. I think Quadratum and The World of Kingdom Hearts are parallel universes that are reflections of each other, after all, where else is night during the day but on the opposite side of the world? Which is why the secret cutscenes that involve Quadratum focus a lot on reflections, such as a puddle of water reflecting Riku, Yozora looking at his reflection in the car window, Etc. Sora and Yozora aren’t opposite versions of each other, they’re reflections; opposite sides of the same coin.
Sora: "Hi, i'm sora!" Yozora: "..... *sighs* listen up, because i'm about to teach you the pecking order." Sora: "Ahuh?" I like how this theme is more "classical" than most ost's from kh. Feels like things are changing a lot the next few kh games. OST reminds me so much of rachmaninoff and how smoothly he composes for orchestra. You can hear it in the violins here! Also am I the only one who hears destati at 1:05?? I love that little detail!

0:56 that piano. So final, so emotional. Imagine Xehanort and Sora clashing in the night sky under the moon-and then, just like in this piece, a piano cries out over the orchestra, playing “Dearly Beloved.” It breaks the heart imagining how beautiful and memorable the finale could be with appropriate music. It’s never too late, Yoko (and Nomura)!
The piano at the beginning of the piece makes me feel a cold chill, as if I were actually feeling the breeze a top of the tower and having this mysterious yet cautious feeling over my opponent.
Beautiful track. This reminds me a lot of Michiru Yamane (“Castlevania,” “Bloodstained”)-she and Yoko need to collaborate someday! This is exactly how I wanted the final boss theme for KH3 to be-grand, melodic and emotional with virtuosic pianos and violins. Breaks my heart imagining how Shimomura would have elevated that moment. What were they thinking?....

This is how you do a final boss theme! I love the final Xehanort battle theme but I felt it was getting used too much in the last hours of the game. This track is easily my favorite in the whole game.

I would have preffered a more epic soundtrack if this was any other boss but this fits this boss battle really well so I cant complain. Yoko Shimomura keeps amazing me.
I always felt like there was a solemn epicness to this theme. Neither of these two truly wanted to fight each other. You can see it in Sora's expressions right before the fight. He didn't want to fight Yozora but once Yozora pulled out the sword on him, Sora had enough. This theme just carries the vibe of inevitable to it.
My favorite song in the series, I grew up with KH and I love it's DISNEY aesthetic. But i made it into KH through Final Fantasy and this song is pure Final Fantasy
God please just let Yoko Shimomura be solely responsible for composing the songs for Kh games. Her work is so much superior to the others who worked on the kh3 ost. This is straight up incomparable to the final boss theme of Kh3.

He will start running far away then when he closes in he will (in a half a second) teleports next to you to take your keyblade, just dodge the moment he’s makes a move while running, then immediately block because he’s pissed you dodged him (if he catches you when he strikes you immediately dodge his second attempt) then dodge his second attempt , then he will teleport next to you for the third attempt when he does dodge

Yozora may have finally dethroned Lingering Will as the best secret boss in series history. And that ending, with Yozora sleeping in the car like Noctis in the old, old versus XIII trailers, and a guy who's seemingly Luxord (!!!!) calling him "commander"....to be honest, I haven't felt this excited for the future of KH since the KH2FM secret ending.

@@IzzuZiq I don't get the hate for the Kupo Coin tbh. I think most of the people who hate it don't know that the game only lets you have one at a time. You can't rely on it because the game doesn't let you buy more than one. It could be seen as just a second layer of once more and second chance.
And, to be fair, Yozora doesn't punish you strictly for bringing the Kupo Coin. He punishes you for relying on items in general, seeing as his absortion attack can nab potions, ethers and elixirs too

They just don't like that it's something easily available and purchasable just like that. Remember, this was back when KH3 was mocked for being too easy and the Kupo Coin added to it.
Now of course others would bring up how other games have their fair share of auto-life/revival and like any other mechanic they ignore for self-imposed challenges, they could just ignore the coin but they apparently have this weird specific hate boner for it
I was salty when i saw used my coin the first time, cause i hate bosses who heal himself (and with Yozora and Xion, now i hate bosses who reduce your HP max x))

The second the battle began, I automatically went under the impression that there is no way to win this fight. Died in almost 15 seconds after he stole the keyblade. Finally beat him 4 hours later.

Slobertooth 13 I’m at the Yazora fight on critical mode. Played through the fight once, died within a minute and was like “welp, I’m done for tonight”. Mind you I had Just finished beating Master Xehanort so I was not in the mood for another slog fest in the same day

I think that the insipartion for this was enigma, gravity & nobility.
It is a showdown between 2 "kings" that are shrouded by mystery. Not to mention that Yozora's moveset is very free-flowing, fast and powerful. Plus he's using gravity a lot.
He's quite literally waltzing through battlefield with how confident his moveset is.
And also how trapy it is like he wanted to capture Sora
Sora and Yozora are quite literally mirror images of each other.
Sora means sky, Yozora means night sky, and when Sora passes into Yozora’s world, instead of the Final World being a bright and sunny day, it’s in the dead of night.
Sora’s reality is fantastical and whimsical, with magic and Disney characters, and he fights with magic and a literal giant key; meanwhile Yozora’s reality is far more grounded, with real world architecture and a lack of magic, he fights with a technological crossbow and a laser blade, fighting with far more Sci Fi powers like lasers mechs, a black hole, virtual reality and drones.
Sora has a childlike and innocent aura and a bubbly personality, yet hides a lot of inner turmoil behind his smile; meanwhile Yozora is cold, serious, and stoic, almost never showing any emotion, yet from this fight alone you can tell that he does have some sense of humor and respect.
Which leads me to this conclusion:
In the Kh4 trailer, we see someone who looks almost exactly like Kairi, but they’re not. I think Quadratum and The World of Kingdom Hearts are parallel universes that are reflections of each other, after all, where else is night during the day but on the opposite side of the world? Which is why the secret cutscenes that involve Quadratum focus a lot on reflections, such as a puddle of water reflecting Riku, Yozora looking at his reflection in the car window, Etc. Sora and Yozora aren’t opposite versions of each other, they’re reflections; opposite sides of the same coin.
This perhaps one of the most beautiful themes ever in Kingdom Hearts.

0:56 that piano. So final, so emotional. Imagine Xehanort and Sora clashing in the night sky under the moon-and then, just like in this piece, a piano cries out over the orchestra, playing “Dearly Beloved.” It breaks the heart imagining how beautiful and memorable the finale could be with appropriate music. It’s never too late, Yoko (and Nomura)!
The piano at the beginning of the piece makes me feel a cold chill, as if I were actually feeling the breeze a top of the tower and having this mysterious yet cautious feeling over my opponent.
Beautiful track. This reminds me a lot of Michiru Yamane (“Castlevania,” “Bloodstained”)-she and Yoko need to collaborate someday!
This is exactly how I wanted the final boss theme for KH3 to be-grand, melodic and emotional with virtuosic pianos and violins. Breaks my heart imagining how Shimomura would have elevated that moment. What were they thinking?....

This is how you do a final boss theme! I love the final Xehanort battle theme but I felt it was getting used too much in the last hours of the game. This track is easily my favorite in the whole game.

I would have preffered a more epic soundtrack if this was any other boss but this fits this boss battle really well so I cant complain. Yoko Shimomura keeps amazing me.
I always felt like there was a solemn epicness to this theme. Neither of these two truly wanted to fight each other. You can see it in Sora's expressions right before the fight. He didn't want to fight Yozora but once Yozora pulled out the sword on him, Sora had enough. This theme just carries the vibe of inevitable to it.
