Rather than the forgettable hollywood-esque/ambient music just to "fit in the game" that we get nowadays that 90% of the people don't even care.

I love that Soken has this down to a science, with the "stagger phase" portion of the song coming on about every 2 minutes, which makes it easier for the fight designers to make it fit into boss battles.
During the presentation he stated the music changes according to the battle. So if the staggers don’t happen as fast it will keep playing the normal song until it happens then it switches. It’s freaking genius!!!!!

Dammit I gotta geek here. That buildup at 1:34 is so good and then the payoff at 1:42 is such a battle theme, but also really subdued. Like it could be a dance or a waltz. And then I realized it is a waltz! It's in 3/4 time signature so it's mean to feel like a dance. Most other ff themes have been in traditional 4/4. But with the focus on parrying, dodging, timing your specials... It makes sense that this game's fights would feel less like a traditional battle and more like a choreographed dance. And that main buildup and melody/motif comes up in the beginning of the main battle theme because you hear it most often even if you beat a group of enemies quickly, BUT it comes back in full force in this theme much later because these fights take longer (typically mini bosses) and Soken knows you're going to reach that part of the song. So right when you're in the midst of the fight, you get rewarded with the theme you've heard over and over but a glorified banger version of it. Every time you hit a parry or dodge on the downbeat during that 1:44 part... It's pure magic.
Exaccctttllllyy literally the best part. Also for me at 0:30 hearing the Tubas go along with the violins and then then the trumpets play the same melody. Love ittttt!!!! literally

Every time you hear this song know you found a worthy foe!
This music is progressive like the ff12 boss fight musics, love it.
This theme being for the humble Morbol and then the final highest level S tier hunt boss was quite a journey
1:43 best part
had to get up and start dancing at this part.
Exaccctttllllyy literally the best part. Also for me at 0:30 hearing the Tubas go along with the violins and then then the trumpets play the same melody. Love ittttt!!!! literally
Yes!
Goosebump inducing, absolutely hype!
This song is actually by Ryo Furukawa. Soken is credited for his motifs used.
the start of this has huge FFX vibes. FFXVI is taking a lot of inspiration from older titles. One of the other songs in FFXVI had FFVIII vibes. So good.
1:43 has me in tears its so f’in good
I KNOW it legitimate made me get emotional
This track is my favorite but once it hits at 1:42 its just crazy fire from there on out. I make my own videogame music myself and I must respect and tip my cup to the beautiful arrangement of this track. Major props to Masayoshi Soken.
1:43 to 2:18 is the best part of the song for me 💖🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Never has a song almost bring me to tears of joy . Just pure epicness !! You feel the power ....unstoppable....unbeatable.... pushing forward...GIVING IT ALL YOU GOT . SUCH A EPIC SONG . CANT WAIT TO HOP ON THIS GAME
Right!!! Omg!
That and all as one is a banger
I have played many FF games. I have to say this is one of the best battle themes ever IMO.
I love this song. It honors the old games ost’s while adding a modern twist to it. One of my favorite songs of all time!!!
Holy shit, I absolutely love this.
I genuinely think this might be amongst the best boss themes Square-Enix/Square-Soft has ever done.
Agreed!
Absolutely. Although I personally feel FF XIIIs Sabers Edge boss battle is also an amazing adrenaline rush.
@@hashgnome9326 With Hamauzu in charge of FF7R music and Soken in charge of FF16 music, the series is definitely in good hands.
These two make for excellent successors to Uematsu.
@BknMoonStudios SE is just loaded with great game composers. Even outside of the FF series there's a mountain of golden music to indulge in
Its so good that it could be a final boss theme. We are spoiled with Soken
Big shout out for pulling of full Magic Burst in the combo. Exceed Excellence!
This is the tune I've been looking for! Ugh, so fire. 🔥
They get better and better and better and better and better and better with the music. I do feel more absorbed into the battle.
One of the best final fantasy games yet. They really nailed it and the soundtracks like this one too
1:42
This bit. Holy hell I swear I skip the goosebumps phase and just straight up explode whenever I hear this bit.
I'm replaying this game ever since Clive got to Tekken 8 Still just as great as the first time 😁
So thats the boss theme right? Definitely a catchy and memorable melody
I was looking for this theme, thank u ❤
I just love this song
One of the best boss battle themes EVER CREATED ❤
Fr he’s so badass ! 🔥
And like always this Series never disappoints in terms of OST!!
I have no idea what people are talking about, obviously the best part in the entire track (and many other tracks in a very long time) is 1:21
How dare you people skip past this part?
This battle theme just blew me away!!! Thanks Soken !!! What a great game so far. I have the old vibes where a game really pulls me in. We have so much crapp in the gaming industry at the moment, so this game is just beautiful
1:07 is literally the part that made me fall in love with this song.
The pipe organ went 🔥
*Ohhh* that's pipe organ I'm hearing there! I was still trying to figure out why that section felt so much heavier and impactful to me. I can hear it clearly now that you spot it out.
When u put this song in hideaway and torgal panic jump not understanding why he hear boss fight
