I have ,to be honest if your 20 go learn a trade you will have to work hard for cheap to gain experience until you become qualified , gain a few years experience then leave and go self employed , it ll take you 3-6 years to learn and gain experience but you ll end up on 200 plus a day probley even 250 a day by then. But you will work on dusty building sites , cold in winter , can be grimey. If I was 20 again I'd say be a policeman or firefighter, you only have to work 3 years to get a pension, so if you started at 21 you stop at 51, then you get a cushy little job as private secruity with the background you have or concierge etc , plus working for a government related jon entitled you to so many benefits it's well worth it. If you think you ll lose friends because it then they ain't your friends to start with. You ll make much better friends with good morals with the added perks of having connections. Get some driving experience , keep a clean record, become a chauffeur driver for a rich family advertising for private driver , they always pay well and tip well with good perks. These are the roads I would advise to go down that are easily achievable for a comfy life.

@@ismailakbar6449 Get a trade lad. I’m 19 but was an 18 year old college dropout. Spent months researching and debating which career path to choose and had interviews for business administration and estate agency traineeship positions lined up but ended up choosing a plumbing and gas engineering course. Aside from the fact that getting out and about on a daily basis fixing and installing things is in itself highly gratifying there are many other reasons why a trade is the best option. With how much contemporary society is evolving, jobs in sales and the tertiary industry in general are never as secure as you’d think. Estate agents and salesman in some companies are already being replaced by automated online systems. ‘Cutting out the middle man.’ But with a trade you’ll never run out of work, you’re extremely employable and the transferrable skills once you’ve got bearings are insane. Never going to not be needed. Also you can eventually go self employed and do private work, meeting new people everyday who want and respect your services and travelling across the country when doing so. You could also go abroad with a trade and still have work.
Mortgage advisor - if you're working in a bank or within finance team of an agency you can get them to pay for your course. But if you're starting out and using your own cash - it's an uphill because ultimately you don't have contacts book of potential clients.
Hi, by any chance are you a mortgage advisor yourself? If so, what’s the best route to becoming one? I’ve heard about being Cemap qualified but I’m confused at this stage. Any help would mean a lot! Thanks
@@hang5995 Get a job within one of banks or mortgage firms is your best route. They will pay for any qualifications you need. CeMap isn't difficult as course. You could do it in 3 months. Other than that, any customer service / telephone role will mean you have transferable skills.
There are lots of big employers who offer graduate schemes exclusively to people with degrees, so it’s certainly an advantage to have one still - try searching for them, or finding lists of the biggest companies in every industry and see what they offer to grads
Look at it from a different perspective. A degree was a goal that you achieved. You explain to the employer the challenges you faced, how it changed you as a person, the skills you gained that are transferable to the role - time management, discipline, positive outlook, etc.... Say things other candidates wouldn’t. Value the hard work you put in and how you love continued learning. When they ask you for any questions always ask: from my cv, what was it that really stood out. Without realising they will then tell you what drew them to you and that’s what you talk about the most. Put them on the back foot; make them think. They will respect you for it.
Yup, my dad wrestled with that for 20 years, he always thought he was to old. When he was 53 he was forced to look for another job and was amazed how many opportunities he had.
One thing that should be mentioned about becoming an air traffic controller you need to pass a class 3 easa aviation medical so to best ensure that you pass make sure your as for an healthy as possible both physically and mentally

This is a great video. However, out of all of them, I'd say the Electrician one seems the one with more opportunities based on transferable skills. I mean, if you're working for one company and got fired (worst case scenario), you could use those skills in another company instantly. You could even pick up work on your own. With sales, it is mainly commission-based and your salary will depend on the cost of the product. Can you save some money and do a bootcamp in something that will pay good. E.g. data science in the tech industry. Many roles in tech don't need degrees although desirable as long as you have qualifications which u can get from boot camps, also utilize the many free resources online
Think about what do you like doing? There are many apprenticeships out there, it sounds like the electrician, carpenter trade routes are great. There's accounting, coding , IT and much more. Choose something with good pay and demand but importantly something that gives you a real life qualification to do a particular job. Do work experience to find out if you like it, if possible. Don't feel bad that you have no idea right now, I've been like that, you will find something
I work at a car finance broker, earn commission on sales and bonuses with hitting targets. Within 3 months I was grossing on average £4000 to £4300 per month (£50k per annum). Some months more than that. No degree, just a sales job
If you have a degree make sure it's not a useless one like government and politics or classic arts etc if you have money and a vocation in mind. Secondly follow your degree up with another qualification, if you've done finance then do the acca or cima or law do the lpc/Bvc. This will get you into a professional job that pays well.

Sure very helpful for people, youngsters who not sure what to do and dont want waste 3 years and get 50k debt in degree they are not going to use. majority of these industries will not disappear over time either. Therefore are sustainable and not time-bound or trend based.
o0MadHouse0o so true. Many of my former classmates in uni who ended up in sales found it super difficult to change route once they have full time experience in sales. It’s just that the skills required in sales is honestly not relevant enough to be transferable to others
Depends on the country you live in. Here in the UK those coming from sales are highly sought after due to their extensive skill sets that they've nurtured in sales. It matters more on what sort of sales you've been doing and the nature of the company you work in. Areas such as business development, account management are looked very positively.
Yes absolutely, as long as you've thoroughly researched the new field and you have sufficient savings or other income to make it through the initial salary drop that usually comes with a career change

Not sure how I stumbled on this video but glad I did. I would argue that jobs £100k+ don’t care about degrees or universities it is about credibility and experience. Degrees unless specific like medical, engineering and mathematics you’ll find are just to help get the first rung on the ladder.

Due to my academic course and other commitments I am not able to do an apprenticeship at the moment but I am looking specifically for a paid part time, admin , entry level job. I am not naturally academic and despite many years of resits and lots of studying I failed all my GCSEs. I'm 25 so I am not going to put myself through yet another year of GCSE resit class as I'd rather be spending my time more productively. Without a job there is not much I can do at all. I am beyond depressed at home with my disabled, immigrant parents, having a job would give me a reason to live, and of all the jobs there are , for now I am specifically looking for a part time, entry level admin job which I hope would have progression opportunities. I have been to job centres, careers advisors, and other places only to get vague and unhelpful responses. I volunteer, I study, I have been applying every day but to no success. The competition is now even harder because I am one of the older applicants whereas my younger peers have more qualifications, work experience, advantages, and far more likelihood than me to get a job so how can I guarantee that they choose me? Thanks in advance.

Quick question, what do you do when you've started a useless degree, don't know what field to pursue in work and have no idea how toove forward? Asking for a friend
Not the guy obvs, but can you not pivot to a different course at the end of the academic year if you’re not satisfied with your initial decision? Know several people who shifted from degrees in economics to business management degrees; maybe talk to a tutor or guidance counsellor on the best way to move forward. If you’ve just started the course like you said this should be much easier to do, particularly if you’re a first year. Hope this helps.
Finish it. Most graduate jobs care more about the person than the course. Sales, finance, etc.... couldn’t care less. My advice: go into Sales. An amazing profession, unbelievable money, career advancement, etc....
You need to follow your passion and do your degree in that instead of trying to find an easy degree like a lot of people though that's why they fail most of the time because they have no passion for they really want to do so instead of running off to university and doing something you don't really know you should research it very well beforehand and tick all the boxes

I have a university degree but I think it’s pretty useless.
There are lots of big employers who offer graduate schemes exclusively to people with degrees, so it’s certainly an advantage to have one still - try searching for them, or finding lists of the biggest companies in every industry and see what they offer to grads
Depends on what it is but yeah most of them are unfortunately university Is just one big one con these days
Most are, at least that's my opinion. I will get a degree in Entrepreneurship in Serbia, but it's useless nonetheless.
Maybe you did a useless degree like most people do

This is a great video. However, out of all of them, I'd say the Electrician one seems the one with more opportunities based on transferable skills. I mean, if you're working for one company and got fired (worst case scenario), you could use those skills in another company instantly. You could even pick up work on your own. With sales, it is mainly commission-based and your salary will depend on the cost of the product.
I look at it like this, if tomorrow you had to get up and move to another country, richer and poorer, which skill/education would more likely get you work?
Sales, if you can sell you’ll never have to worry about money, it’s a transferable skill
