Seen his 90-seconds speech on X, brilliant move! "We know there are 100 Patriots in Europe, Ukraine asks for only 7 of them ..." That said, he didn't block himself, of course, but a vote on his request. He got like 90% Yes-votes.

Irresponsibility? Cowardice? Fear? As I have already written many times: the escalation with putin' does not come from our actions but from our inaction!
@@rolandmartin3833 Two reasons: 1) one needs an opportunity for such a move. The recent destruction of a number of power plants "helped" a lot. Politics is more about psychology than about logic. 2) EU has no military on its own, so it can't act immediately. It now has to convince member countries to give up some if their defence capabilities.

The pipes you're looking at are components of an intricate canal system. The water flow in these pipes changes based on the terrain they cross, but you'll notice them most prominently around Horlivka. This cleverly designed canal system is the work of "skilled" soviet engineers. :)
This canal is the primary source of fresh water for Horlivka and surrounding cities.
Following the full-scale invasion in 2022, some sections of the canal in northern Donetsk oblast were destroyed, disrupting the water supply to the residents of Horlivka.

Air defence seems to be a problem for Ukraine just as much as for russia, now. There are stories about the US selling them parts for their older systems, predating Patriot. These, I imagine, will have little difficulty with drones and slower missiles, so still worthwhile, but why are they still having to beg for Patriot? Mortally wounded russia is still able to inflict huge damage and Patriot is plentiful and effective at preventing that. Why is it still in crates, around Europe, rather than protecting our Eastern borders? And yes, Ukraines border with russia is OUR Eastern border.
Has the time not come for free Europe to both supply AND man these defensive systems?
The whole of Ukraine and the western edge of the RF should be a complete no-fly zone, by now. It’s in everyone’s interests to make it so.

Will the Russians call back electrician from Ukraine to rewire the flooded IFV plant? We saw this winter the impact on infrastructure of the depleted work force in other critical areas. Why would electricians be any different? I saw an official report from the Bank of Russia this morning that Russia is short by 500,000 workers. Every day, that number is raised by 800-1000 as a result of the war. I wonder how many pipe fitters they have left to rebuild their refineries too.
