  • The Fly is What Happens When You Combine Power and Insecurity.
THE FLY (1986) is directed by David Cronenberg, co-written by Charles Edward Pogue and David Cronenberg and based on French-German writer George Langelaan’s short story of the same name published in the June 1957 issue of Playboy magazine. The Fly stars Jeff Goldblum as Seth Brundle, Geena Davis as Veronica Quaife, and John Getz as Stathis Borans.
If you like my interpretation of The Fly I would appreciate it if you would subscribe to The Godfather of Cinema: Movie Reviews and More, leave a thumbs up, a comment, and hit the bell to be notified of my future videos.

oh my some of these takes are very relaxed. nice stuff. Still not sure I buy into this reasoning for his initial motivation, which I think was to 'make a scientific breakthrough'

I believe that he wanted to transform himself into the ideal version of himself instantly without going through the process hence the teleports, which are a metaphor of this desire of his

@@godfatherofcinema that's reasonable I'm not sure he had any reason to suspect teleporting himself would change him in anyway if it was working properly it wouldn't have, but I can't look away from the fact that he tested on himself to bypass proper scientific rigor and skip all the work straight to the 'win' so you're probably right and Croneneberg is a subtextual filmmaker so I'm going to give you this one after all.
Thanks Godfather, and god bless you sir thank you for listening to the audience like it's just so nice with you being so friendly sounding I really hope it helps you reach more people with your excellent analyses.

Great video. I sometimes think that Seth is just a clone of the original and the original was vaporized. 🤷🏻‍♂️
