I remember Kid nation. The last episode I remember watching was when one little girl was busting her butt cleaning and helping everyone trying to win the prize and they turned around, voted and gave it to another little girl because it was her birthday. I felt so bad for that child who was slaving her little life away to win because she deserved it.
At the 2:08 mark there’s a flash of a kid drinking hard liquor or getting it poured down his throat with red fabric behind him. Right as the guy says “beds” for these kids. WTF Vice. This is really weird.
It’s extremely strange. A google image search returns the shirt he’s wearing is from 2006, and is now actually worth a bit of money. So it’s either a photo that old, or recent and the person has a niche fashion sense. So strange.
Yes I noticed this immediately and I played it back at .25 and it’s clear as day. Honestly I think since Vice is completely going down hill, they’re probably doing this to extend screen time and maybe even get people talking so more people view their videos. I agree with the comment below about subliminal messaging but also I hear about Vice being done for at least once a month haha
That is a grown man at a bar. You can see the shot glasses, bar, and shirtless bartender with a rag hanging out his pocket. The guy also has a tattoo on his neck so I’m pretty sure that isn’t a kid.
Parents are agreeing to way worse things nowadays😅 if only we can go back to something like this parents are far worse now and have way worse decision-making especially with social media because parents are just as stupid and goofy as the kids
I went pretty far in the process but did not ultimately get onto the show, although a couple of my friends did. My recollection was that it was always meant to be in New Mexico, and the working title when I signed the paperwork was actually "The Manhattan Project" which would tie it to the state even more. Interesting to hear what was said in this.
What did you tell Emily Sinclair the interview was for? Because she certainly didn’t know… she really ruined her life with that interview. Disgusting and despicable to stand by what she did to those kids even now.
Yeah I hate looking at her face as she says everything. Seems to have no remorse and LIVES for the camera. SHE LOVES THE COVERAGE. The kids were entertaining lab rats to them.
thanks for ringing that bell and making that connection for us.. its not like they said that and showed footage from the film adaptation in the first 30 seconds
The parents believed everything they were told?? You don't know the people running this show. You don't know the other kids you're leaving your child with. What could go wrong?!?! Everything! What kind of parents allow this?
Still disturbs me to think about the one bullied girl who ended up just wanting to take care of the animals, only to have one of her bullies kill one of those animal right in front of her. And that was far from the worst of it.
40 kids, huh??? I wonder how many of them were abused. Finding out that the most extreme of the rumors are all turning out to be true after all of these years. I'm suspicious of anyone in the industry who expresses so much interest in children.
Loved this show and used it every Friday in my classroom where we then discussed it and had debates over whatever happened in that episode. It was so good.
i just explain that if someone calls a "minor" to their home by forcing them to be born under parents that they are going to from now on be treated as adults because its these blue goggles in everyones skull.
@@janaskibo871 if someone is forced to be born and placed on earth they might as well call the person being born an adult because they likely have these space goggles in their skull. i won a 14th century x box to tell you that.
I watched this and while I see that this show could have been scarring to children in the show itself, I would have loved to have done it. I think as a child and as an adult, I am always curious to see who I would be if I’m thrust into certain experiences that are different to what I know. Anyone else like that?
I remember seeing this TV show online. Personally I think there were some parts of this series that made a degree of sense however I think the age range was wrong. I think some of the youngest kids were too young.
The location "Bonanza Ranch" not city since it was specifically built for movie sets, is also where Alec Baldwin shot off a live gun... I do catering for this location
It was a fun show it was bad but it wasn’t that bad people blow it up a lot more now because of the negative P.R but they were fine at the end of the day
By the end of it the kids were living in filth, malnourished, there was at least one possible instance of sexual interaction, some mild injuries and yes some "hurt feelings" otherwise known as childhood trauma, for the sake of a low rating reality TV show. But I guess child exploitation is low on your list of concerns?
@@adoredpariah I went to camp every summer and experienced all the things you mentioned, and loved it. It's called life, kids don't experience it anymore.
Omg wow, I thought sleeping on sleeping bags outside after hiking there & fishing for dinner was just a normal thing in the 90s! Now walking, carrying camping supplies & sleeping INDOORS with real food to eat for dinner is child labor!? Of course, NOW ppl will argue that kids opening & playing with toys on video is child labor, so big surprise there. Dam, when I was at some religious camp in the early 90s in November in Michigan, they made us build stick huts in the freezing rain & made us go canoeing in a frozen river full of ice chunks & we had nothing else to do as it was a camp for summer activities. I'm guessing they got a huge discount for using it off season & still charged parents $300/kid to attend the 5 days "Jesus camp"...

Stage parents? Puh-leez
I'm not shocked at all. Parents airways pimp their kids out hoping they will become a starrrrr⭐⭐⭐

Sad. Is there going to be a part 2? Kind of ended abruptly
