This video is incredibly well-made! Even with the 2 hour time, I still wanted more! I hope you receive more views the next time Kid Nation goes through another resurgence
This is an incredibly well made and informative video and I'm glad it made its way into my algorithm. Thank you for making this, I haven't thought about this show since it was on TV, lol.
hey - that was great - loved how well researched it was and also your editorial stance on the various issues - i just binged the show, started doing some research, and this is a very satisfying end to the chapter ☺
I'm so glad I found this video! I've only heard of Kid Nation from Ashley Norton's Team 10 video and I was looking for a well-made deep dive like this :)
Great video, just found your challenge and watched the whole thing and subscribed! This show was nuts, Vice is doing a follow up special with them this month where they interview all the kids now. Also from your attention to detail, thorough explanatons and some of your mannerisms im picking yp a neurodivergent vibe? Are you? No offense if not I think it's great I am too and love supporting the community
This is very well-researched! You put all this work in and there are so few people here to see this video, but I hope that changes soon. I think the point you made near the end about the tone of the show impacting its production was very apt. Kid Nation was made for older people to watch with amusement as entertainment, rather than engaging for children themselves, and while that isn't inherently bad (many shows that are for adult audiences star kids in ways that are totally appropriate), in my opinion this shows most in how the children were treated, given secondary concerns after the entertainment of the adults involved. At many points in your video it even became clear in your descriptions, that the things they did as producers probably did indeed improve the entertainment value of the show and create more storylines, but at the expense of the kids' safety or comfort. I think it's easy to see while watching the show, the things that were done to harm (even if only emotionally) the kids, because that made the show more entertaining to watch. With adults, people signing up know that ahead of time and fully consent to it knowing what is likely going to happen, but kids don't have that awareness and can't properly give consent to be used in that way.
Great docu! You're very articulate and easy to see and hear. I think if you could've introduced somehow some more of your humor this probably would've got more views. I think there's a lot of material to do some jokes here and there, maintaining your authentic form of telling things. I'm Subscribing :D
Amazing video facts are on point. I remember watching this and being the same age and thinking how lucky they were to be on tv looking at it now Dodge a bullet there lol
How did you find this show to watch again? I watched when it first aired but can’t find it anywhere. Please if anybody knows how to watch this please share!
@ nintendolunc Really you need to get your fucking eyes checked. Or you are LAMELY trying to get a date with this person. But either way.. YOU NEED GLASSES. They look NOTHING alike LOSER
No lie, where is that rock? Did the grind down the carvings and repurpose it? Or is it still out there anyway? Id give 10$ to find out where it is if it still exists.
American kids are so soft....kids in Africa live these lives normally.....yall need to get over your selves. This show was a good learning experience i would have loved to go through it at that age on camera rather than in my normal life.

This is one of the best videos on this topic on the platform, hands down. Very well done!

I am a simple man, I see kid nation content, I click
I grew up with Eric on the green district. Sad that he was essentially edited out of the whole show. Growing up he was a good kid.
I thought the song he wrote for the talent show was super good. At first I thought it was a cover.

🫡 I too wish more people would watch this video
Nathan won the gold star after Greg urinated in his canteen. It was the shows way of paying him off. Greg confirmed doing it.
There was a UK show called Boys and Girls alone, from 2009. interesting experiment.
Sorry to comment twice on an old video. I JUST figured out who you remind me of. 1990s Alanis Morissette
Isn’t it ironic

@LaineyOnline really. You are trying too hard. And the comment is a SERIOUS JOKE. you look NOTHING like her . Get over yourself

You know, in all honesty, a concept for a show like this sounds like a pretty good idea. However, in execution wise… this sounds like a nightmare.
Basically lord of the flies
That's what the producers were going for
Why no word about Jared?
No lie, where is that rock? Did the grind down the carvings and repurpose it? Or is it still out there anyway? Id give 10$ to find out where it is if it still exists.
I’ll swear that Zach is Cameron Boyce. And if it’s true Cameron faked his death.
Did you knit a Jamaican flag into that snake on the couch?
It’s velcro
