  • In this video I explain and demonstrate the procedure for emptying and flushing the grey and black water tanks on an American Coach Patriot Class B RV. This van has an electric macerator pump that makes dumping easy and relatively clean. When there is a long line at the RV Park dump station, you want to be sure you can empty the tanks quickly and efficiently. This will make your travel fun and worry free.

Has anyone figured out a clean grey water drain for trips where you're on city water/sewer connections and want a long shower?

The only thing I can think of is to open the gate valve and leave the macerator pump running during your shower. I'm not sure if there is a danger of the pump overheating though. Anyone else have any ideas?

Hi Dan thank you very much so helpful I have the same American patriot can you share exact size of pvc part or item number? Any specs would be a awesome I’m thinking you would probably want to hold that section by hand to make sure it does not pop loose
Also I have a private septic on 20 acres of land can I just slide the septic cover lid off and dump it ?

Help! I just bought a 2022 MD2 170 EXT with 700 miles on it. Drove it across country. Went to fill the fresh tank and no water pumping. The pump runs. I took the pump off and made sure the diaphragm was not stuck, it wasn't. Water is just not getting to the pump.Fresh tank is 70% full. Water pump works fine. It's my understanding these pumps don't need "priming," but it seems as though that is exactly what it needs? Thanks!

Sorry, but this is a little outside our wheel house. I have had great success in dealing with the manufacturer, and I would recommend you give them a call. Good luck.

Why was the black tank hooked to the garden hose?

We were using the hose as an extension on the end of the drain hose. At home we use our sewer flush out to dump the tank, and we need the extension to reach the drain. We then flush out the hose and we use it in the garden.
