Absolutely beautiful , extremely well appointed for a small van , very well done . Unfortunately , the MSRP takes this van so far away from the everyday working class person for ownership . I love it , just not attainable .
This is a very nice class B. It’s small and cute. My dislikes are: It’s a tight fit to get in but that’s because of the sink. It’s tight getting through to the bed. Small counter space but all that is do able. My likes are the bathroom. The fact it has control buttons all over the van. And the retractable awning. Thank you Matt and Andrea and Olivia and Rv One of Tampa.
Matt, The most essential selling point (in my view) as a future class B owner, is your statement to the effect; “American Coach will be reading your comments”. In the many hours of footage I’ve watched of Class B camper vans, I can’t help but be impressed by the increasing importance that both Nick (of Coachmen, Ron of American Coach) give to monitoring consumer feedback of their products on social media and at RV shows. I enjoy the content of your channel.
I've been shopping for my first RV for quite some time. This American Coach Patriot FD2 is the closest to what I feel would be my perfect RV. Three things I love about this van: 1: The Freedom battery system. This system looks to provide usefulness along with serviceability. The underhood generator, propane delete, heated batteries of a good size are all things I want. 2: Generous water tanks. With water more is better and this coach has good sized tanks for a 19 foot van. 3: Quality. The RV industry has a lot of shoody workmanship. What I've seen of the American Coach Patriot/Midwest Passage RV's instills a feeling that they are not going to start falling apart as soon as I drive them off the lot. Three things that I dislike about this van: 1: The fiberglass running boards. They look good but I have a feeling that I would curb them or break them if I went off road. I would prefer metal with a retractable step like some of the competition uses. 2: No shoulder belts on the rear seats? Most of the competition has them. One of the reasons I like the lounge configuration is that is seats more than just two people. 3: THE PRICE! Perhaps I'll wait for this RV to be available used when the market cools down.
I am sorry, but the price of these are just absurd. I cannot believe people actually will pay a quarter of a million dollars for a freaking van. Furthermore, this is not for off road -- it would get destroyed.
Yep. Methinks this will sort itself out eventually through market reaction and demand. Every manu is now trying to do the "offroad" thing to get in on the adventure van market but it requires more thought than chucking on some BF Goodrich's and using the Mercedes chassis. I also feel like manu's add $50k-$75k to the MSRP just because they chucked a few lithium batteries and an inverter in it.

Awesome RV!! They did a great fitting all the NECESSITIES into small foot print, that bathroom is AMAZING for a 20' vehicle. Let's face it, most people want to get from point to point safely & comfortably and this does that to the highest levels. Thanks for exposing us to the brand and model. Yes it does cost more than other alike but at least its available. Can not get the Canadian made ones now the wait is too long and i might forced to change to this one. I need an rv shorter than 20’. So the choice is limited if i need a decent wet bath. Do not want a cassette toilet.
I LOVE this coach! I had the larger (longest) Cl. B Patriot a few years ago, but because it was 4 ft longer I didn't use it for a daily driver like I thought I might. I bought the same length Sprinter van as this unit, and love driving it all over. Sure, Patriots aren't inexpensive, but they are well worth the money from my perspective. Can't wait to get another! (and the Freedom Pkg - great idea, not having to have a genset and charging the lithium batt's via the solar panels and/or the Sprinter engine alternator)
Beautiful coach!!! I wish they would have had a convection microwave and figured a way to have a slightly larger refrigerator-/ other than that - it is a dream !! Colors are beautiful, love the awning, the screens, and the shades. Home run on the bath!!! Love the auto bed/ everything.
It said in the specs that Matt flashed on the screen that this is a 4x2! I own the 2020 version of this motorhome. I have the lithium package. BUT as pointed out by Cure Meister, it sits way too low. Off roading is NOT easy! My wife, and I love staying off of the grid, so, I am upgrading to an STO! I have to say that otherwise, it is a beautiful coach. So glad to see a Class B without a bike rack on the back, those head knockers are dangerous. Is the electric stove removable so that it could be used outside also? I like bathroom design just wish the door was not all glass, would like a little more privacy
For the extremely high price, it should be definitely a four-season, but I have a feeling that it’s not. Also, if someone wants to go off grid, how does he recharge for the overnight if the batteries max out after twelve hours??? It is a beautiful class b but still much too expensive for what it offers.

I watch most of Matt and Andrea's reviews. Dont forget to hit that thumbs up button, even if he cant take his a** up on the roof to show us all the features the roof has to offer! Thanks for the great reviews!
How long will it take to recharge the 6 batteries on a sunny day from the solar panels? and plugimg in? Small size is great. Love the colors and the bath. Very nice. I would change the exterior color choices to include royal blue. Tired of white black options.
Based on the size of the solar system, I’d estimate its capable of producing between 1.2 to 3kWh per day under ideal conditions. Not sure what the capacity of the batteries is but assuming they are 100Ah lithiums that’s about 7.8kWh of capacity. So it would take 3 to 7 days to fully charge the system from dead to full charge with nothing but the solar. These smaller solar systems aren’t very practical if you plan on running the AC or a heater or using the induction cooktop a lot. You’d have to run the coach engine to charge with the second alternator or use shore power to makeup for what the solar can’t provide.
Love this Van it has everything I need to tailgate and travel. Lovely shower , seating area. 4x4 is good for parking off paved lots and getting thru Southern tropical storms . Price hurt my heart dang house 🏠 cost but it's awesome.
I love how compact and short it is, Love the look, love the bathroom. 3 things I don't like about it. #1 Price. #2 Price. #3 Did I say price? $225,000 for a camper van is a lot.
I don't even get the point of these Class V (van)'s. Still waiting for a demonstration of how you take a shower in one of those vans. Likes: you can poop, brush your teeth and shower at the same time. Dislikes: too much $, for too little. MSRP is laughable.
HAVENT you showed this before? Thank you tho. Too much money, should have built on a Ford chassis . If I’m paying that much I need a normal size class B. Pay tons more for less? But it is pleasing to look at. Also no counter extension.
Gorgeous coach. My wife and I would be happy to travel in this. But, for versatility and spending less, I still think I'd choose the Coachmen something or other XG with the door on the back. I thought Matt was right - that all the Class C's would have a door on the back by now, but that doesn't seem to be happening. Too bad because it looks to be extremely versatile at a price which isn't quite as breathtaking.

Nobody going to say anything about how Matt pronounced “Method” wheels? Have I just been saying it wrong all these years? Lol
Lol I was thinking the same thing… maybe because of the price they use special ‘Mee-thod’ wheels instead of the basic ‘Method’ wheels 🤣🤣
Love the cook top
Love this Van it has everything I need to tailgate and travel. Lovely shower , seating area. 4x4 is good for parking off paved lots and getting thru Southern tropical storms . Price hurt my heart dang house 🏠 cost but it's awesome.
Matt and Andrea love from the UK
Thanks so much :)
Love this one...but that price!! Holy Cow!!
A quarter of a million dollars 🤪. Shut the barn door your smoking too much. That’s insane.
Next time mention the macerator. That is an important feature for older people.
It’s perfect for me and my small dog! Wish I could afford it! 😃
Matt, what advice would you give to someone who wants to pay monthly for a small class B van? Central Texas. Considering full time van life. Thanks. 🌺
What's the sale price on this unit
I love how compact and short it is, Love the look, love the bathroom. 3 things I don't like about it. #1 Price. #2 Price. #3 Did I say price? $225,000 for a camper van is a lot.
I love everything about this tiny motorhome except the price
Would Be Nice If the Back Bench Seat Had at least 2 Seat Belt Systems To Carry 4 People Travelling ....
I don't even get the point of these Class V (van)'s. Still waiting for a demonstration of how you take a shower in one of those vans. Likes: you can poop, brush your teeth and shower at the same time. Dislikes: too much $, for too little. MSRP is laughable.
Does it have PPP you never said thanks for sharing and as always stay safe and God bless love ya Nancy
HAVENT you showed this before? Thank you tho. Too much money, should have built on a Ford chassis . If I’m paying that much I need a normal size class B. Pay tons more for less? But it is pleasing to look at. Also no counter extension.
Would have liked if they had put a convection microwave in instead of a standard microwave.
Claustrophobic feel. Wasted space over "sofa" and side seats. Tiny fridge. Prefer gas to diesel. This one's not gonna' happen for me.
Too much money. Less than half the MSRP and I'd consider it just for myself. Not a two-person van.
Again, for the love of God, give us a convection microwave!!!!!!
for that price, you would expect to have one.
I don’t use the word “outrageous” very often, but after looking at the price I think this is one of those times…
