    Excellent work! And my heart opens, seeing glimpses of your family share your well-organized workspace. Those shelves were such an excellent investment!

    TIP! 10:20 3 years later! Tighten the chuck in more than one spot! Like how you tighten lug nuts in a star pattern. You will get the chuck much tighter 😊😊

    Hey man! Great video, question: would I still be able to use this technique emif I don't take the bottom off and the pistons and rods are still in?

    • @MohawkMotors
      @MohawkMotors  4 месяца назад +1

      Thank you! Yes you could do this with the pistons still in the bores BUT you are almost guaranteed to get grit between the piston and cylinder walls which is going to cause problems, maybe just some excessive wear, more likely scoring and possible damage to the piston rings. Plus all that grit will eventually find it's way into the oil.

    Was it burning oil before rebuild?

    • @MohawkMotors
      @MohawkMotors  Год назад

      It was using oil, cylinder walls were glazed as well.

    What size/grit ball hone do you use?

    • @MohawkMotors
      @MohawkMotors  3 года назад +1

      Hey Colin, sorry it took me a few days to get back to you, I had to find my hone, lol. Ball hones are bore diameter specific so you need to get the appropriate size ball hone for the cylinder bore diameter you are working on. As far as what grit, different builders will have different preference, but just for a clean up hone I use a 240 grit hone.
