aside from the fact that this is scott johnson, you can tell he's a true musician because everytime he says "one more time" it really means 2 or 3 more times
I met him at standford fer west dci championships and I told him he was god n he replied " no , im just scott johnson. " Ahahha . He's hecka good though .
your totally right bro..thanks for the advice..i hope i can be like you one day.. ps i was talking to casey broheartedededed the other day and he told me i should take lessons from you like he did...have any openings?
snarelife11,I know all my rudiments plus others.I have been playing since 1964 and I'll tell you this that without a recipe a cake is not a cake that taste to good. The recipe shows you what to use and how long to bake it. The sheet music tells you what rudiment is to be played and where. you must play by ear,if you do ,learn to read so what you are playing is the same as the person you are playing with.
It's actually pretty simple however, don't get simple mixed up with easy. You will need to look at your 13 essential rudiments (if they are still acknowledged) for the ratamacues. Good luck
i like the raptor claw you got goin on in ur left hand =), not saying im better than you cause im definitely not, but doesn't that stand out to you as a possible improvement in ur technique?
@prezmo777 the stuff he put on his videos arent that difficult.... it just has alot to do with all the different flam rudiments and hybrids.. which is a big thing in anything marching percussion now a days. get him learning flams A SAP! ahah he'll be killin it at a young age!
I hate how people argue that Barker is better... Barker is beastly, yes, but at set, not marching percussion. DCI style drumming is hard, set can be hard, depending on what it is you're playing. I can play both marching and set, i can play most of what ScoJo plays but when it comes to doing what Barker does on set, there's no way, mainly because I don't really practice set that much yet, both of these guys are really good at what they do regardless.
It's a joke. The next time you're in band class and your director says "okay last time I promise" think about the joke when you play it three or four more times.

I remember in 87 when I was cooking for BD and a bunch of snares discussed doing back stick flam drags. I tried it and had them down in a week.
Bruh ngl it took me like 10 seconds
"Scott doing 32nds on one hand"
says, "piece of cake"
Flam drag, flam drag, backstick flam drag, backstick flam drag, flam tap, flam tap, flam ratamacue, flam ratamacue, backstick flam ratamacue, backstick flam ratamacue, RLRLRL RRRLLL(Backsticked RLRLRL). Correct? No?
Casi, pero no, le faltaron algunas cosas
I met him at standford fer west dci championships and I told him he was god n he replied " no , im just scott johnson. " Ahahha . He's hecka good though .
may you rest in peace sir...
Really sweet playing!

he actually loks like he's having a hard time with the 6tuplet back sticking

r L r l r. flams on the first and last notes, accent on the first left.
I love your yt name @FlamJam69
Piece of cake. hahaha
Travis Barker even comparing to ScoJo is like comparing math to religion. What the fuck guys
I think in like 20 years, Casey Brohard will look just like Scojo.
@TheGerthax ur kidding right?
waht this pad and stick? and waht de model?
@ECUSnare barker plays fast. thats it
what pad is that?
What sticks is he using.

@pr192001 scott johnson vic firth
@gtrocksyosocks It looks like just one flam tap.
@idaho777 dude i know who scojo is im just trolling to get your goat :P
how does that put him in the true musician category?
btw, i'm not questioning his musicality at all...
whu tu three uhhhhhhhhhh
All done and transcribed. Shoot me a message with your email if you want the sheet.
Do you still have the sheet?
send me plz !!
@lovesdrumsalot "pro"
It's a joke. The next time you're in band class and your director says "okay last time I promise" think about the joke when you play it three or four more times.
learned the lick but the backsticking is a bitch
scojo would FUCKING DESTROY travis barker. scojo would start playing and then travis would just start crying. then proceed to light himself on fire.
@Dageshak hahahaha he's old, he doesnt need to work on technique anymore hahah
if you all knew your rudiments you wouldnt need the sheet music..
Show off
great drummer though
These comments are so old.
@mysteryrockssssssss yes i am lol. i would never say such blasphomy and mean it. nothing makes me more when people say travis barker is better
why not do it at 40bpm. 120 is stupid speed if you actually wana learn what you're doing
i would rather worship scojo than god himself ( scojo religion )
u both are jealous of his skills ehh?
still not as good as Nick cannon
Of course it is a joke..... It's funny because it is true.
you do know who played those Nick licks right? dont say Nick Cannon...
travis barker>scojo
That's stupid. God is a better drummer than scojo ;P
