I haven't watched this video all the way through, but I know it'll be cool. Only a minute in and I paused to learn the sticking I always wanted to do. So cool :D
@sickeningsplat I knew that he was with promark.. but people still say I'm using my VF Scojo's... Thanks so much.. I was afraid I would have to order some, when really, they're at Guitar Center..
@Diachi26 There used to be a video here on RUclips of Scojo teaching the hi mom, but I guess it got taken down. If you want to watch that video, I guess you could buy the LOTW DVD and check it out there. Snarescience (if you don't know who he is, he's on my subscriptions) did a small bit on 360 backsticks at the end of his Backsticking 101 video, so you can check that out as well.
Does anybody know where I can find the Johnson VF sticks? Not the rubber ones. The regular playing ones... I can't find them on the VF website. Are they called something else?
@Diachi26 Getting the concept of what 360 backsticks (or hi moms) are isn't too hard. What's hard is learning how to do them because at first your fingers won't be used to doing that kind of stuff. So just start out slow while staying relaxed and remember: if you're not having fun, you're doing it wrong. =P
Honestly this guy is awesome at marching snare but is he any good on a set? I'm not trying to take anything away from him I'm just curious because I just found out about him
Man. Scott Johnson is a GREAT teacher. Even when it comes to silly stick tricks. Props to the production company who put this together, as well.
Scojo using Vic Firth??? How old is this?
I mean it was posted in 2008...
I love how relaxed and cool he is. 8D What a cool and talented guy.
Dude scott johnson is a beast.

"get out of the way. get outtttt of the way"

I'll bet he's pretty hardcore when you're on his line though. I can't speak from experience unfortunately. I'm just guessing.

Very cool. I'm going to try this one as soon as I remember where I left my safety glasses.
Does anyone know what lick is featured in the intro? I watched that video once but I can never find it now. (not the tenor lick)

@A7Xblood He isnt with VF anymore he is with pro mark you would find em on the pro mark web site in the "system blue" section
what is the drum pad called that he is using
@A7Xblood You haven't heard, bro? Scott Johnson is with Promark now. If I'm not mistaken, the VF Scott Johnsons are now called MS5s.
He's using the Scooters here.
Watch the Hi mom stick spins on the right under Related Videos. He's using the outdoor Scott Johnsons there.
Honestly this guy is awesome at marching snare but is he any good on a set? I'm not trying to take anything away from him I'm just curious because I just found out about him

@Diachi26 Just flip the stick 360 degrees with your middle and ring finger.
