What's up everybody! Many of you were asking for this stick so have at it...let's hear your feedback! And as always, if you have questions, drop them below and I'll be sure to answer them!
I haven’t played one enough to give you an informed answer. I know they’re super popular and look awesome. I’d just like to see how they feel and sound.
Hello! I am a beginner drummer (from Russia). I recently bought ProMark TXDC50W sticks. I started using them in training. In general, I was looking for sticks with a round tip, but now everything is expensive ... that's why I bought the "Blue system" at a discount (they are cheaper than regular 2B). Before that, I used Russian "KK percussion" sticks made of European hornbeam (500-600₽ ~=$6), "metal" series (16&7/8" l, 0.61" D) ... I like TXDC50W sticks, so how I love the feeling of a "powerful Wood" in the hands (sounds funny). That's how I found out about Scott Johnson.
One of my favorite sticks These got me through a lot in college drumline They also really help with accurate shots (especially on the left) I can’t wait until you get to the BYOS sticks in your promark package series Love the vids keep it up!
I’ve always been an IP, Vic, and more recently Malletech guy. But I got a gift card to Guitar Center and decided to give Promark a try. After playing with the DC17s, I completely agree with everything in this video. I love those sticks.
I may need to get the DC17 for next year, i was on bass drum for this year of marching which was may first year. Next year I will be a freshmen taking over our senior snare drummer's spot, since we play at elementary, these may be good for there and then the football games, thanks for the review of these sticks, it draws me closer for the right sticks I am looking for lol.
I found a set of these at a small music / smoking accessories shop when my son and I were ziplining in Idaho Springs, CO. I know nothing about marching bands or drumlines, but am always on the lookout for different exotic additions to my DW kit. These dudes were way heavier than anything I was used to and they felt awesome. When I got back to MO. and tried them out, i fell in love and only on rare occasions do I revert back to any other sticks. I mostly play metal and rock, and LOVE the way these feel and sound. The only detriment I suspect could possibly be of note is the additional weight and girth causing premature wear on my cymbals over time. I address that by just exercising a little more control on cymbal strikes, and have trained myself to do so automatically, and don't have to introduce any extra thoughts into the process, which allows me to play more intuitively. So far, so good.
You’d be fine with either the Ausdemore or Johnson lighter sticks. DC17i or DC18i. If you’re going full size, you’ll probably feel more comfortable with the DC17s simply because of the diameter. If you have hands big enough to comfortably play with the DC18s, then you can start making comparisons as to how they feel off a drum. Make sense?
OMG … I ordered the DC17s. Those are heavy monsters on Speed. Amazing and weired at the same time. Especially, when you switch back to the Vic Hardimons … they seem light like air ballons in comparison. Really the scooters would be interesting in this regard.
I’ve thought about that quite a bit but there are so many moving parts that go into how a stick sounds, especially on a drum. Things that are based on human factor such as what kind of drum is it, kind of heads, tuning preference. Versus say a keyboard mallet, where there are no adjustable factors on a keyboard that will change the sound of a mallet. And with the things we play with sticks, feel is so critical because it determines just how much we can manipulate as a player to get what we want out of a stick. But overall I really think you can get great sounds from every stick if you’re fundamentally sound. Hope that helps a bit. Sorry for the long form answer. Haha.
bought a couple of pairs. 1 of the pair was not matched tone wise, one of the stick felt heavier. the other pair was okay. puts me off to play the mismatched pair tho.
Midnight_H4vic What do you play? Concert snare / drum set or marching snare? These sticks are bad for concert snare because it’s a really bad sound, but for marching these sticks are amazing. Blue devils use them

What do you think about Xymox pads?
I haven’t played one enough to give you an informed answer. I know they’re super popular and look awesome. I’d just like to see how they feel and sound.

They feel amazing.
I love Da SCOOT SCOOTS they are good for indoor or lighter tone features ^-^
Can you perhaps compare the dc17's to the Jeff Ausdemore's? And can you review the Vic Firth STA Tom Aungsts?
Do you have specific questions? I can do my best to answer them here for you. 👍🏽👍🏽
Swiss Cheese Beats Well im a beginner, and im in an indoor drumline at 12, what should be better for me?

Swiss Cheese Beats Yes, lol I asked my local music store if they had any snare sticks and they showed me pairs of 2s
and 3b lol
Haha. Just a little different in size.
Only sticks I’ve used that feel good without tape
In one word-Perfect

Can u review the vic firth mike jackson?
Nice
My personal favorite
When you do stick reviews could you play on something so we could hear how they sound?

It’s fine my guy
Can’t wait for the big video you have coming up👀
For sure! Just sorting out some details but it’s in the works.
bought a couple of pairs. 1 of the pair was not matched tone wise, one of the stick felt heavier. the other pair was okay. puts me off to play the mismatched pair tho.
can you do a vic firth ms5 review??????? pls
Possibly. It really just depends if Vic ever gets around to sending product.
Can you do the BYOS sticks?
Coming soon my friend!!! Thank you for watching!!!
How to buy it or order it im from philippines
How to buy it ?
Ralph Hardimon Hammers?
Possible! Those sticks last forever too! Thanks for chiming in and watching!
Can you do byos sticks
A few people have been asking. I’ll definitely get to them! Thanks for watching!!!
Swiss Cheese Beats thanks and of course and thnx for making the videos
Tom Floats???
What about when there taped?
As in where do you tape them?
Swiss Cheese Beats no like does the stick get heavier when there tapped?
All sticks do for sure but it also depends how you tape them. You definitely don’t want to mess with the natural balance of the stick.
Hype The Clean so I taped them with a single layer no over lapping.
Are these sticks even good? My i bought them and my drum instructor said they were trash.
Midnight_H4vic What do you play? Concert snare / drum set or marching snare? These sticks are bad for concert snare because it’s a really bad sound, but for marching these sticks are amazing. Blue devils use them
I wasn’t a huge fan of these (I have small hands compared to a lot of the big guys using these sticks). Gave them to my friend. He loves them
So like the Ralph Harmidon full size and ralphie jr
Very similar for sure. The Scott Johnson 17i are a little bigger than the Ralphie Jr though.
Scojos are dope, but dont nothen feesl as comfortable then a fresh pair of Ralph hardimans....💯
I like the Scott Johnson pairs better, used Ralph's stick in the past.
