    Hey if you or any of the companies you do reviews for think they aren’t working, I’m just writing to tell you it does . I stumbled across your page last week and this was the first video I watched , long story short my new black corps pad just was delivered yesterday and it’s all because of this video. Very informative and I’m very happy with my purchase. Keep up the good work.

    Nothing better than Drum Corps training. yet you could transmission your “touch” and play also excellent jazz on the set. Inspiring video!

    Beautiful rudiments; nothing like Drum Corps training. I still bet you could transmission your touch and play equally great jazz around the set.

    The black corps pad is literally an Offworld outlander molded in black plastic instead of red, with a different sticker. IP contracted OW to produce them with the IP logo. The outlander is a couple bucks cheaper, so if the color isn't a big deal for you, go with the Offworld pad since it's the exact same product.

    Do you keep all the gear(practice pads, sticks, etc.) you get sent to review? If so, do you have a secret room that you keep them in?

    I own the older red model gum rubber pad that really bounces. Found it on Ebay.
    Nice rebound compared to the newer pads. Guess the rubber is different?

    • @HypeTheClean
      @HypeTheClean  3 года назад

      Not sure if the rubber is different. I can’t remember if I have the pad you’re talking about too. I have the white rimless pad but don’t think I have the red.

    What exercises/tips for practice could I use to help reduce tension in my playing when doing double stroke rolls primarily at louder dynamics mF and above?

    • @HypeTheClean

      Wonderful question! I’ll be sure to cover this one!

    • @Severen45

      Work on trying to play a double beat exercise like triplet partials at a faster tempo. Then keeping the same hand shape; play a legato check pattern (similar in technique to 8's/stick control) and add in the diddles trying to make good rhythms ie 32nd note diddles or 6-tuplet diddles.

    Where did you march? Under which instructors and what do you think of today's marching groups DCI/WGI?

    • @HypeTheClean
      @HypeTheClean  6 лет назад

      I didn’t march. For me though, I’m a fan of groups that play well first. I think the music and sounds produced should always come first since fundamentally, DCI & WGI are music based activities. Just my thoughts.

    • @Severen45
      @Severen45 6 лет назад +1

      Yeah, I think so many lines forget that drums can be very melodic and they just want to play as many Flam variations as possible in 7-11 minutes.. Thanks for the reply. :)

    Why do you love practice pads?
    Did you march in DCI and if so which corp.

    • @HypeTheClean
      @HypeTheClean  6 лет назад

      Hahhha. That first question is amazing!

    • @fletchermyhre7628
      @fletchermyhre7628 6 лет назад +1

      Also (not a q&a question) but what age do you think someone can start marching open class?

    • @HypeTheClean
      @HypeTheClean  6 лет назад

      I really don’t think this is an age based result. It’s all dependent on skill level. I’ve seen people age out in open class, and I’ve seen people go straight to world class. Just I know that’s vague, but it’s really skill based.

    • @fletchermyhre7628

      Why I ask is because my percussion mentor said I should audition for the Colt Cadets and I am only an 8th grader and I just want know if it would be a good choice.

    1.Are you going to start stick sound test with practice pad for a more neutral sound?
    2.Favorite DCI show?
    3.I want to start writing licks but I don't want it come off as hacking, anyway around that?
    4.Have you marched anywhere indoor or outdoor? what years?
    5.Beetle Pad review soon?
    6. On that topic, offworld series review soon?
    7.Any drum-set stuff coming up?
    8.Who do you think is going to be in the DCI top 5 at finals?
    9.Who were you routing for the Eagles or Patriots?
    10.Last but not least, can you play The Lion King Lick?

    More of an opinion than a question but: tilted snares or flat top snares? And why? I prefer tilted just for the aesthetic reason. I think it looks a little more traditional. And it’s easier to hit left shots.

    • @noahgormanmusic1843
      @noahgormanmusic1843 6 лет назад +1

      Flat looks more badass in the end HOWEVER tilted is way better for your left wrist

    Hi. Your skills are amazing.
    I just need to say with all due respect that even though you mention " no sponsors "it took 2:42 for you to get to the point. Too much introduction video. It took a lot to keep me here.
    I'm a self taught drummer and it shows. Many things that I did not teach myself that a teacher would have. Some of those things are, I play a righty kit but I'm a lefty. I didn't teach myself to alternate hands and now I'm struggling to catch up. I'm 59 years old. The other thing is trying to play traditional grip. I notice in this video that your left shoulder is considerably lower than your right and I'm wondering if that's a good thing for future posture issues?
    Again. You're amazing so please don't take this the wrong way.

    • @lifeontheledgerlines8394
      @lifeontheledgerlines8394 4 года назад

      With trad grip, you want to match fulcrum heights and not necessarily hand heights. In order to match the fulcrum height of your left hand, you might need to adjust other stuff in your right hand.
