Thank you for the tips. I have been in the roofing industry for 12 years working in sales and overseeing crews. I decided to start my own company and now am scheduled next month Jan 2021 for exam. appreciate all the videos and have learn many things to succeed. Thanks my friend
I am a contractor and even though in my state I can actually have someone else take the test I still do all the tests myself I do everything you said to do except the eating part .Don't be afraid to re read everything... sometimes a 16 hour course takes me 20 hours,But in the grand scheme of things a few extra hours spent on reading gains you years of income
I really appreciate the tips! I just passed my roofing exam and here are my tips. Chapter tabs on top color the tabs, key words on side, math and chart tabs on bottom. Somethings are different from the NRCA BOOK RULES AND THE Fl CODES and the roofing construction and estimating book. Make sure you are putting that on the tabs that are different and put which book it’s different in on the tab or highlight that tab a different color or write on the tab different color. Also please please get a study guide where ever you are going to class or if your doing it by your self you can find these on online websites. When you are taking mock test or studying the practice test look them up in the books and highlight those answers TAB TAB. Trust me when I say you can study the study guides but when time for the test you will psych yourself out and you will waste a lot of time finding the answers because you wanna be right. Learn how to find the answers in the book! 😉 And make sure if the test is NOT referencing a book default back to the Florida code book.. And don’t limit your self to one study guide there are many website and classes around to choose from and most of the questions will be similar to the ones on the test! Also I bought cds so I didn’t have to make time during the day for classes. And you can write what ever you like on the tabs but not on the pages. Hope this helped!
Oh and one more thing if your wasting to much time on a question pick your best answer DO NOT leave it blank MARK it and come back and leave your math for last!
I have taken the Florida roofing test twice and both times received a 68. The problem with memorizing questions which I did was that out of 175 questions, 25 were on the test. So it didn't help. Your advice which I thought was brilliant was to use the Roofing Contraction and Estimating book first for all questions the had to do with the NRCA books. I will do that next time and see how things go. Thank You for your time and imput.
Hello Dmitry, thank you very much for your videos, they are a great blessing, I will start roofing school next week, I am very nervous, but your videos encourage me to shave them well. I attended your conference in Orlando and I loved it, it led me to think about getting my own license. I bless you and thank you very much.

Hello Mr. Lipinskiy, I know how to navigate majority of my books and I’ve been working with flash cards. Also I know how to calculate the square footage. I would just like to know if this test if difficult to find answers, the first time taking it.
Please don't believe what he says. The exam is not as difficult like he says. The exam is a normal scope of work of a roofer. The Exam asking about felt. Membrane, BUR, TPO, Cold tar, HOT tar, aggregates, SPF, Tile roof, Mortar, Battems, Crickets, Slate, Wood shingles, Asphalt Shingles, Flashing, Copings, Metal shingles, Metal Panels Tapered Insulation, Blue prints, slope, rise/run, Osha, FBC and HVHZ. I dont see nothing out the normal scope of work. Is the easy exam I ever ben take. And I'm CGC aswell from Florida. Of curse you need to read all the books and get familiar with them and learn the table of contents.
Hi guys I'm looking for a little help here. I am trying to study and get prepared to take Florida roofing exam. I have purchased the builders guide to accounting in roofing construction estimating book. I am looking for some practice test. Any recommendations on where I could get some of these? Also how many books should I be studying? I called a guy from a Florida program and he said I needed nine books and wanted to sell me a package for $2,100.. is this really required? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have some books that are the same they are requesting only difference are different edition, for example walkers building estimator reference book, gold coast is saying they offer the 31st edition and I have 30th edition, also roofing construction and estimate, they request 2015 but I have 2016 and last they request the OSHA 2019 and I have 2017 and they don't tell me if I can use mine or not?. could you help me and let me know if its the same so I don't waste extra money? thank you
Do you have any videos on how to start a roofing business if you’ve never installed roofs? In California, it seems like you can’t get a C-39 license (roofing) without 4 years experience and it looks like you need to have proof of roofing experience. I’m sure I can pass the test, but not sure what to do on the experience part.
Great video and thank you for the tips. I already passed the business and finance exam, I am curretly studying for the trade knowledge exam. Can you tell me if there is alot of math on this test? Should i worry about learning all the estimating math or should i mainly focus on learning how to navigate the book?

C-39 Roofing License here in California. Out of all 50 states, only 21 of them require roofing pros to be licensed. California is one of them. The license they require is called the C-39 license. This is a specialty contractor license for roofing pros only. If you’re a contractor in California that works in other trades as well, you may need licenses for those as well.
in florida you need a roofing license, a general contractor cannot do roofing work without a roofing license, unless the work is being done for themselves( their own house)
