Fun fact, the story director of Bomberman 64 the second attack is Naoki Yoshida, The same Yoshida who is the Director and Producer of Final Fantasy XIV. as well as the Producer of Final Fantasy 16.
I love this game so much. One nice thing about wind bombs is that if you do find something that doesn't resist them, don't move, set a bomb and constantly set it off, you won't get blown away and you essentially become a death shield of wind.
I noticed that the trend of taking simple, classic game franchises and put them in a complex story is quite a frequent thing at some point in time. What's next? Dig Dug discovering the meaning of life? Part 1 : ruclips.net/video/0zcGSilTw6Q/видео.html
I loved BomberMan 64 so much. Is this really a good sequel? I continue to look at reviews because I think it’s available on Wii U to buy. I’ll get it if it’s good.
I just the bought the game and I kinda hate it. The first mission so bad, long unskippable cutscenes, the that first boss that for some reason they take away your remote power specifically for the fight, and the boss might just randomly be able to instantly kill via a cutscene, while you try to set up bombs that he'll kick away, or detonate them early. After a few tries, it really makes you lose motivation. The first game had some semi BS moments, but not in the first level forcing you to replay the whole level and sitting through all the dialogue. The first game gave you remote power for the bosses, why does this one take it away? Why, why make it like this?
Really, Just buy the full power item every level, it's a translation mistake it's not a one-time use item, it comes back in the shop after every level. Besides starting with all the abilities would make the hidden armor pointless and the game would be less challenging (could be good or bad if you want it to be easier). ...It's not my favorite game ever or anything (though I do think it's one of the best N64 games)
Nice to see I managed to draw in a fan of the game. But yeah, I probably should've researched that powerup more. Funny thing is that I originally had a part where I complain about the backtracking across revisited levels, but I scrapped it since I felt something's off about how I play. Perhaps that was a good decision after all.
@@CountShaman I think you did a good job critiquing it, tbh you even might have gone a bit easy on it, like the framerate is inconsistent, you have to beat the entire level to save if you revisit, and anytime you need to use ice platforms it's a bit unintuitive. For me the good things make up for the flaws, and the levels are small enough that losing progress isn't as bad as it could be, but for some it's a deal-breaker. I know that there are some players who really didn't like the difficulty and demanding levels so it's good to point these things out, it's not as bad as gold cards in the original but it's frustrating at times for sure.

If you can tolerate slightly dated design choices and difficulty spikes, then I recommend it.
@@CountShaman thanks!
I was honered to play the 2nd one before playing the first
I would try this out if it wasn't so bloody expensive nowadays (And no I'm not sure if I've got a computer that can handle N64 emulation)
Now were talkin! Can't talk about Bomberman without the 2nd attack!!! :D
Hmm looks like this could be where they snagged the idea for the elemental bombs in the Jetters part of this series.
Thank you. But...wait. two? Maybe i need to check the first video again.
My least favorite bomberman title on N64. The puzzles turned me off. Still love it though.

Have you played bomberman fantasy race? Plan to review that game?
Never even heard of it. I might check it out.
