Funny enough, the first X game I played was the X7 game, for about 10 minutes, then I played the remake Maverick Hunter X on the PSP. But the first Mega Man game I played was through the Battle Network era.

I wouldn't say X3 is lazy its more like it had so many ideas and not enough time to properly flesh them out also there is a way to avoid Magna centipedes poisoning you dash jump when he's about to do it and you slow yourself down long enough to outlast the animation of him drawing you in
Not all the footage are mine. I used to note where I collect additional footage, but I stopped when It became too much work to keep track of every clip I salvage, especially when not many people watch my videos. I will get back to doing it again eventually once I clean up my routine, since the big collab I made helped push up my viewership.
So my overall thoughts of the x series. At least the ones in the video. X1: A frigging awesome classic. It's fairy challenging with great level designs, music, bosses, upgrades etc. It was the first megaman game I ever played and I still enjoy it to this day. X2: Eh it was ok. Not as great as the first but not that bad either. Music is still great, most of the bosses were good, (most of them), and the levels were decent too. I do find it kind of tedious how you have to fight the x hunters in specific places in order to reach them though it's rewarding when you do beat them since they can be a challenge without X being at his A game. A solid sequel for sure. X3: I didn't really care for it. Hell most of the soundtrack, bosses and level design I didn't care for much either. (Though I argue the arranged soundtrack is much better.) I hardly ever use Zero and ride armors despite them being a part of the game or any upgrade except the hidden golden armor. And like many 3 nes or snes trilogies this game is grueling and difficult especially with the final boss. X4: Despite the terrible voice acting, I frigging LOVE X4 A LOT! Like the first X game it's a frigging masterpiece when it comes to the gameplay, soundtrack, boss roster, weapons and other features. Not to mention it's great to play X and Zero and let them have 2 different storylines like how the first two resident evil games did. I really love it.
I got to be honest. When it comes to the Megaman series I prefer many other megaman series over the original especially the x and zero series. Not that I hate the classic megaman series I just love the other ones more.
X1: my second favorite game ever X2: meh kinda easy and annoying at the same time X3: way too hard X4:overrated as hell X5:hot garbage 6: trash 7: boring and bad 8:ok

X-x4 are some of the most fun video games. Period.
