      Hi there sorry for the delay, I was on vacation. I think you are talking about point 10:00 in the video. If you look again, there are 6 quarters in the table, but we divide by 5. This might be the confusing part. It's because we are dividing by the number of changes, not the number of quarters. q1 to q2: 1 change. q2 to q3, the second change, etc. So between Q1 and Q6, there are 5 changes, so this difference between Q6 and Q1 is the total for 5 changes. Divide by 5, average change per quarter. Does this make sense?

    Hi Steve Willis, Thanks for the lecture , I am confuse with this , the seasonal variation given in the queston are for Q3 And Q4 of 2010 not 2012, why did you placed them in 2012.?

    • @SteveWillisACCA
      @SteveWillisACCA  2 года назад

      Hi, we are creating a forecast, so we don't know what the future seasonal variation will be. We make our forecast with the seasonal variation we observed in the past, which is what is given.

      @@SteveWillisACCA but since we only got S. variation of 2010. dont we need to calculated S. variations for 3 and 4 quarter of 2011 and then calculate an average of of of the same quarters and use that in sales forecasting?

  • @deeprajmishra631
    @deeprajmishra631 Год назад

    why you calculate adjusted seasonal variation?(For 1 Mark)

    • @SteveWillisACCA
      @SteveWillisACCA  Год назад +1

      You want the total of the seasonal variations to equal zero; the positives cancel out the negatives. As I showed, it was off by 0.0064. So I split the difference and spread that over the 4 seasons.
